NFL Post Week 12 Coaches Hot Seat Rankings

A chair on fire... metaphor "In The Hot Seat"

Tell These Hot Seat Coaches the God’s Honest TRUTH Johnny Cash!

RexRyan7

1.  Rex Ryan, New York Jets – With the loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday head coach Rex Ryan and the New York Jets dropped from the last Wild Card Playoff spot to completely out of the Playoffs if the season end right now and in a year where it is….

Playoffs OR Bust

….for Rex Ryan in New York Ryan has very little margin for error in the homestretch of the season with these games remaining to be played:

Miami Dolphins
Oakland Raiders
At Carolina Panthers
Cleveland Browns
At Miami Dolphins

Now at 5 – 6 on the season the Jets will have probably have to win 3 of their last 5 games to have a decent chance to make the Playoffs beginning with the game against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday which in many ways is an early Playoff elimination game that will put the losing team and head coach in a Helluva spot that they may not be able to recover from.

YES…..the Miami Dolphins game on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey may very well be the BIGGEST Game of Rex Ryan’s head coaching career.

LeslieFrazier67

2.  Leslie Frazier, Minnesota Vikings – On a Sunday when head coach Leslie Frazier and the Minnesota Vikings needed a win in the worst way the Vikings ended up with a tie against a depleted Green Bay Packers team and with Minnesota now at…

2 – 8 – 1

….on the season the below last five games may be the last five games of Leslie Frazier’s head coaching career….with the Vikings at least:

Chicago Bears
At Baltimore Ravens
Philadelphia Eagles
At Cincinnati Bengals
Detroit Lions

Wow! That is a tough five games for Leslie Frazier and the Minnesota Vikings to finish the 2013 and anything short of the Vikings running the table or at least winning 4 of their last 5 games would more than likely mean the Minnesota Vikings will be looking for a new head coach come late December.

JoePhilbin7

3.  Joe Philbin, Miami Dolphins – Depending upon what the NFL’s report says on what has been going inside the Miami Dolphins organization the last few years Joe Philbin may already be heading toward an eventual firing but for Damn sure after all that has happened in Miami in the last few months anything short of the Dolphins making the Playoffs will also probably lead to Philbin’s firing come December and that is why that close loss to the Carolina Panthers was a huge blow to the Dolphins Playoff chances and Philbin’s future.

Now at 5 – 6 on the season the Dolphins have left to play this season:

At New York Jets
At Pittsburgh Steelers
New England Patriots
At Buffalo Bills
New York Jets

That is a pretty tough slate of games that the Dolphins still have to play and as we commented above when talking about Rex Ryan really needing a win over the Dolphins this Sunday Joe Philbin and the Dolphins REALLY need a win over the Jets in MetLife Stadium because a loss to the Jets on the road on Sunday and a loss to the Steelers on the road in Week 14 would probably eliminate the Dolphins from Playoffs with three games still left to be played.

One thing for Damn sure….

We would not want to be in Joe Philbin’s shoes right now considering the stories we have been reading about the Miami Dolphins locker room but then we live in the REAL World where…

Human Beings treat other Human Beings with Respect

….but as we have been told by lots of Candy Ass Pussy NFL Players in recent weeks that would be Crying to their Mommas if you dropped their Precious Asses into Afghanistan to fight the Taliban it is folks like us that…

“Don’t understand locker room culture.”

USSoldier2

Please….we have people here at Coaches Hot Seat that have played football in America on EVERY level it can be played at and it is our opinion that what has been going on with the Miami Dolphins and other professional sports teams in America that run vile, inhuman and in many ways racist and disgraceful locker rooms is a…

Complete Embarrassment to Professional Sports and the NFL

….which the professional leagues should have been on top of and put an end to a Helluva long time ago.

BillWalsh677

Bill Walsh did not tolerate bullying or any of this other Crapola at Stanford or with the San Francisco 49ers and the NFL should not tolerate it in the League as well….PERIOD.

DennisAllen7

4.  Dennis Allen, Oakland Raiders – The Oakland Raiders loss to the Tennessee Titans at home was especially bad for Raiders head coach Dennis Allen because with Oakland now at…

4 – 7

….on the season and almost completely out of the Playoff hunt this is now about Allen showing he can be the head coach of the Raiders into the future and these last five games will be Allen’s chance to show the Raiders’ management what he and his coaching staff can do:

At Dallas Cowboys
At New York Jets
Kansas City Chiefs
At San Diego Chargers
Denver Broncos

Again…those are five pretty tough games to finish the 2013 season although that Week 16 game against the Denver Broncos might not mean a lot to the Broncos unless they are playing for home-field advantage throughout the Playoffs which is certainly a possibility BUT whatever the case in our opinion Dennis Allen needs a minimum of…

6 maybe 7 Wins

….to return as the head coach of the Raiders in 2013 and beating the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas on Thanksgiving Day would be a good way for Dennis Allen to get another win under his belt.

GaryKubian67

5.  Gary Kubiak, Houston Texans – With the Houston Texans loss to the ONE WIN Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday it looks like the Gary Kubiak-era in Houston is all but over unless the Texans can do something like the run the table against their last five opponents:

New England Patriots
At Jacksonville Jaguars
At Indianapolis Colts
Denver Broncos
At Tennessee Titans

Uhhhh…..Houston Texans running the table against their last five opponents?

Not Very Damn Likely!

YES….more than likely the Houston Texans head coaching job will open up sometime between now and the end of December and in our opinion here at Coaches Hot Seat the Texans job is…

A Very Damn Good Job with an ownership and management that will let a head coach do his job and if the head coach wins….he will be richly rewarded.

Put the Houston Texans job up on the board as of right now as….

More Than Likely Open Come December

MikeShanahan4

6.  Mike Shanahan, Washington Redskins – Mike Shanahan is a future Pro Football Hall of Fame coach with…

TWO Super Bowl Wins as a head coach – Denver Broncos

ONE Super Bowl Win as assistant coach – San Francisco 49ers

FIVE Super Bowl Appearances – Broncos and 49ers

Lombardi6

…on the board BUT the Washington Redskins this season and especially on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers have very simply looked like a team that is…

Hardly Coached At All…..PERIOD.

Mike Shanahan’s record in four seasons with the Washington Redskins is now…

24 – 35

….with only one Playoff appearance (2012) and that is just flat-out not good enough for Redskins’ owner Dan Snyder or for us here at Coaches Hot Seat and with these games remaining to be played this season for the Redskins…

New York Giants
Kansas City Chiefs
At Atlanta Falcons
Dallas Cowboys
At New York Giants

…..there has to be a 90-plus percent chance that Washington Redskins head coaching job will come open between now and the end of December.

Congratulations on a Great and Pro Football Hall of Fame Career Mike Shanahan….BUT….like all careers it looks like this Great Career is over and Shanahan can certainly be very proud of what he has accomplished and walk away from the game with his head held high and probably into a broadcast booth next year to do the color on NFL games!

CBS has a spot open for sure with the Great Dan Dierdorf retiring!

JasonGarrett7

7.  Jason Garrett, Dallas Cowboys – As one looks over the…

Post Week 12 ESPN Playoff Standings

…webpage and then when one looks over the Dallas Cowboys remaining schedule this season…

Oakland Raiders
At Chicago Bears
Green Bay Packers
At Washington Redskins
Philadelphia Eagles

….it looks like IF the Dallas Cowboys are going to make the Playoffs in 2013 it will be via…

NFC East Champion or BUST

….which means each and every game down the stretch will determine not only the Cowboys’ fate but the future of Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett as well no matter what….

Crazy Jerry Jones

….says to the contrary!

YES….the Oakland Raiders is a MUST WIN Game for Jason Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys especially with the Philadelphia Eagles playing the surging Arizona Cardinals at home on Sunday which could be a tough win for Chip Kelly and the Eagles.

Is Jason Garrett really head coaching material OR is Jason Garrett just a Pretty Boy from the Ivy League that is on over his head?

We are ALL about to find out the answer to that question including Crazy Jerry Jones!

Don’t lose to the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving Day Jason Garrett OR you will go right back onto the…

Coaches Hot Seat NFL Quotes of the Day – Tuesday, November 26, 2013 – Edmund Hillary

Coaches Hot Seat NFL Quotes of the Day – Tuesday, November 26, 2013 – Edmund Hillary

“It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves.”

And

“My solar plexus was tight with fear as I ploughed on. Halfway up I stopped, exhausted. I could look down 10,000 feet between my legs, and I have never felt more insecure. Anxiously I waved Tenzing up to me.” High Adventure : The True Story of the First Ascent of Everest

And

“Well, we knocked the bastard off!” Hillary’s comment to George Lowe, after his successful ascent of Mt Everest

And

“I’ve always hated the danger part of climbing, and it’s great to come down again because it’s safe … But there is something about building up a comradeship — that I still believe is the greatest of all feats — and sharing in the dangers with your company of peers. It’s the intense effort, the giving of everything you’ve got. It’s really a very pleasant sensation.”

And

“You don’t have to be a fantastic hero to do certain things — to compete. You can be just an ordinary chap, sufficiently motivated to reach challenging goals. The intense effort, the giving of everything you’ve got, is a very pleasant bonus.”

And

“On my expedition there was no way that you would have left a man under a rock to die. It simply would not have happened. It would have been a disaster from our point of view. There have been a number of occasions when people have been neglected and left to die and I don’t regard this as a correct philosophy. I am absolutely certain that if any member of our expedition all those years ago had been in that situation we would have made every effort.”

And

“People do not decide to become extraordinary. They decide to accomplish extraordinary things.”

And

“Nobody climbs mountains for scientific reasons. Science is used to raise money for the expeditions, but you really climb for the hell of it.”

And

“While standing on top of Everest, I looked across the valley, towards the other great peak, Makalu, and mentally worked out a route about how it could be climbed… it showed me that, even though I was standing on top of the world, it wasn’t the end of everything for me, by any means. I was still looking beyond to other interesting challenges.”

And

“I am a lucky man. I have had a dream and it has come true, and that is not a thing that happens often to men.”
