Coaches Hot Seat Meets With Friend and Television Executive at Lake Tahoe Over MLK Weekend on College Football Playoff

LakeTahoeWiner777

We here at Coaches Hot Seat welcomed the College Football Playoff after the Disaster that was the Bogus and Un-American BCS and we watched on with great interest as the structure and governance of the College Football Playoff was put together over the past couple of years BUT when we first read that the Semi-Final Games of the College Football Playoff were going to be played on New Year’s Eve kicking off even when Millions of Americans would still be at work we started asking questions….LOTS of Damn questions!

We have refrained from writing about the College Football Playoff for the last couple of weeks in the wake of the…

Complete Freaking Disaster

…of playing the Semi-Final Games on New Year’s Eve…

College Football Playoff Committee Drops the Ball on New Year’s Eve, Anthony Crupi, Ad Age

“According to the final Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, household ratings for the Dec. 31 playoff games plummeted 37% compared to last year’s set of games, while overall deliveries dropped 40%, marking a net loss of 11.2 million overall viewers. And while some of these results may be chalked up to the fact that both games were blowouts, College Football Playoff rights holder ESPN’s greatest challenge lay in the scheduling.”

AND

College National Championship Ratings Drop 19%, Anthony Crupi, Ad Age

“According to Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, the Crimson Tide’s 45-40 victory over the Tigers in the second College Football Playoff National Championship averaged 25.7 million viewers and a 14.7 household rating, and while nothing to sneeze at, those numbers came up well short of last year’s less competitive Ohio State-Oregon shootout.

‘Bama’s fourth national title in seven seasons was down 23% versus OSU’s year-ago 42-20 win over Oregon, and ESPN’s household rating was off 19% from the inaugural title tilt’s 18.2 rating. Perhaps fans were leery of getting bogged down in what may have been yet another bowl-game blowout, or maybe the ratings declines could be chalked up to simple Nick Saban fatigue, but either way, an awful lot of people missed out on some wildly entertaining football.”

…which we will summarize by writing…

The CFP Semi-Final Games LOST 40% of its TV audience year-over-year

The CFP Final Game LOST almost 20% of its TV audience year-over year

…and if you have been or are now thinking that the…

Bastards behind the College Football Playoff are Mighty Damn Stupid Bastards Indeed

….then you would have been fascinated to sit in a meeting that several Coaches Hot Seat members had with a Long-Time Friend that has worked in the Television Business in Los Angeles for over two decades who flat-out told us what many already knew:

The Governance behind the College Football Playoff…in our Long-Time Friend in the TV Business opinion and in our opinion…..

Doesn’t Give Two Rips About Fans of College Football

…but instead only cares about ONE DAMN THING:

Serving their Masters otherwise known as Sorry Ass Bowl Executives who do little to earn their Six-Figure Annual Salaries beyond kiss the Precious Asses of the Governance behind the College Football Playoff….in our humble opinion!

Just who is involved in the Governance of the College Football Playoff you ask?

Well…there is of course…

Chief PR Hack Bill Hancock who in our opinion will say ANYTHING he is told to say much like Baghdad Bob

BillHancock7772

….and then there are these Sorry and Worthless Bastards that in our opinion Don’t Give Two Rips about the Fans of College Football!

Oh…that is a Helluva lineup of Sorry and Worthless Bastards that collectively decided to…..

Play the CFB Semi-Final Games on New Year’s Eve beginning the first game when Tens of Millions of Americans are either still at work or getting ready for New Year’s Eve

Play the CFB National Title Game on a Monday Night with the game on for over four hours on a school night

…and not surprisingly things like this happened as a Direct Freaking Result of the Idiotic Decisions of the above Worthless and Sorry Bastards:

The CFP Semi-Final Games LOST 40% of its TV audience year-over-year

The CFP Final Game LOST almost 20% of its TV audience year-over year

And for what exactly did the above Worthless and Sorry Bastards behind the College Football Playoff decide to play the THREE Games of the CFB when they did?

To serve the interests of some of the Sorriest Americans in our country in our humble opinion…

Freaking Bowl Executives

…who do one Damn thing very Damn well:

Kiss the Collective Ass of the Worthless and Sorry Bastards behind the College Football Playoff!

BozemanMontana

One of the more interesting things that happened in 2015 is that several of us were with our families up in Montana last Summer and one night around the dinner table a Coaches Hot Seat member casually said….

“Playing the College Football Playoff Semi-Final Games on New Year’s Eve is a risky move.”

….which was closely followed by one of our wives who worked for ABC-Television for two decades saying:

“What did you just say?”

Coaches Hot Seat Member: “The College Football Semi-Final Games this year and in the future will be played on New Year’s Eve.”

Wife: “You’ve got to be kidding me? Don’t they know that the women that are not at work on New Year’s Eve which is most women in America are very busy doing things all day to get ready for that night? This may go down as the stupidest thing in the history of TV in America!”

And of course that wife was RIGHT because very simply….

The Arrogance, the Hubris, the Idiocy of the below Worthless and Sorry Bastards….

…along with the Worthless and Sorry Bowl Executives hiding in the background who OWN all of the Worthless and Sorry Bastards above have already done…

Great Damage to the Game of College Football in America

….and it’s our opinion that the above Worthless and Sorry Bastards would TAKE DOWN the Game of College Football in America in exchange for the Bowl Executives to keep kissing their precious asses and like most Corrupt things in America….

It will continue until it’s Arrogance is exposed for all to see

…and just like the Bogus and Un-American BCS was brought down it seems that the above Worthless and Sorry Bastards behind the College Football Playoff will have to be exposed as well for what they truly are…..

Mortal Enemies of the Great Fans of the Great Game of College Football in America

…in our humble opinion of course.

Below is from one of the above Ad Age stories on the College Football Playoff:

“Unfortunately, and this holds for ESPN and college football fans alike, the College Football Playoff appears disinterested in making any proactive changes to the schedule, which means that seven of the next 10 playoff series will air on New Year’s Eve. Much of this intractability is a byproduct of tradition; Rose Bowl officials are unlikely to ever agree to shift the Grandaddy of Them All out of its time-honored Jan. 1 slot, which effectively puts the kibosh on scheduling a regular New Year’s Day playoff series. Barring an unforeseen reversal of fortune or a sudden outbreak of common sense, ESPN and fans are stuck with the contractually mandated New Year’s Eve slate. (The Rose and Sugar Bowls hosted last year’s playoff games, but that only happens once every three years.)”

OK….wonder how many more “Fiesta Bowl” scandal stories it will take to finally rid college football of the Worthless and Sorry Bastards that still control the game i.e. the Worthless and Sorry Ass Bowl Executives and their Obedient SLAVES sitting in Athletic Director and Conference Commissioner jobs?

We shall see….we shall Damn see!

Final 2015 – 2016 Coaches Hot Seat Rankings – 11 – 20 Hot Seat Head Coaches

For the last time in the 2015 – 2016 College Football Season…Give These Hot Seat Coaches Hell Johnny Cash!

Final 2015 – 2016 Coaches Hot Seat Rankings – 11 – 20 Hot Seat Head Coaches

PaulJohnson989999

11.  Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech – One of the strangest creatures we have encountered on the Atlanta scene since a dozen-plus Coaches Hot Seat members moved their families and businesses to the Greater Atlanta area in 2013 is…

The Georgia Tech Alum/Football Fan

Yes, the Georgia Tech Alum/Football Fan would love to see Georgia Tech football win BIG but their lives very rarely revolve around the Yellow Jackets winning or losing a football game or not like it does with other college football programs in the South BUT in 2015 we heard some of those….

Georgia Tech Alum/Football Fans

…saying for the first time in a heated tone that…

This is Horseshit Football and it’s time for Paul Johnson to GO!

Hey, Paul Johnson has had a couple of Exceptional football seasons at Georgia Tech winning 11 games in 2014 and 10 games in 2009 BUT since beginning in 2010 over the last SIX college football seasons Johnson’s records stand at:

Overall:  42 – 37

ACC:  26 – 22

Pardon our French but at Georgia Tech the above records…

SUCK

….and although it’s hard to get much out of Georgia Tech Alums/Football Fans they will say if pressed say:

“Anything less than 8 wins in 2016 and Tech can take my athletic donation and stuff it where….well you know where!”

Only the Incompetent Boobs at the ACC Conference office don’t have their teams 2016 football schedules out yet….not that college football fans need to plan their schedules and lives ahead mind you…but we do know that Tech plays…

Boston College – Ireland
Mercer
Vanderbilt
Georgia Southern
Georgia
8 ACC Teams

…for a Total of 13 regular season football games and if Paul Johnson can win 8 of 13 games then his ass should be run out of Atlanta!

PaulHaynes91919100

12.  Paul Haynes, Kent State – Paul Haynes has now been the head coach at Kent State for THREE seasons and he took over a Golden Flashes team that won 11 games in 2012 (coached by Darrell Hazell) and Haynes has posted combined record of…

Overall:  9 – 26

MAC:  6 – 17

…and if that does not EQUAL Hot Seat then what the Hell does now?

RonTurner281818

13.  Ron Turner, Florida International – A few of us here at Coaches Hot Seat first met Ron Turner when he was on the Stanford football staff between 1989 – 1991 which were the THREE seasons that Dennis Green was the head coach of the Cardinal and our impression then of Ron Turner was…

“Whatever”

….and that same impression continues today with Turner’s THREE seasons as the head coach at FIU where he has posted combined records of…

Overall:  10 – 26

CUSA:  7 – 17

…after taking over a FIU team that the THREE previous seasons under Mario Cristobal had posted a combined record of…

Overall:  18 – 20

Sun Belt:  13 – 11

Our opinion when Mario Cristobal was fired after the 2012 season at FIU that it was a…

A NUTS moved made by a NUT AD

…and that is still our opinion today.

As for how long Ron Turner can remain the head coach at FIU if the losing continues….we haven’t a Damn clue!

TimDerutyer2381818

14.  Tim DeRuyter, Fresno State – We have LOTS of theories here at Coaches Hot Seat on why Fresno State has fallen so far the last couple of seasons under Tim DeRutyer after such a strong start….

2012:  9 – 4 – MWC Conference Champ
2013:  11 – 2 – MWC Conference Champ
2014:  6 – 8
2015:  3 – 9

….and most of those theories will never see the light of day but there is no doubting…at least in our opinion…Fresno State is one of the TOUGHEST jobs in FBS Football and a head coach at Fresno will either stay on top of EVERYTHING or things can go South fast as they have the last couple of seasons for DeRuyter.

With an overhaul of the Fresno State coaching staff…

Fresno State Football: With key coaches in place, Bulldogs ready to hit recruiting road, Robert Kuwada, Fresno Bee

…which included adding Lorenzo Ward from South Carolina maybe Tim DeRuyter can get his teams MOJO back which anyone paying attention could see has left the Bulldogs the last two season which has seen Fresno put on some very lackluster performances that in 2016 MUST be brought to an end or Tim DeRutyer’s time in Fresno will be brought to an end!

OregonState188181

15.  Gary Andersen, Oregon State – Corvallis, Oregon is a place where many Coaches Hot Seat members have been to a dozen-plus football games over the last four decades and we often stop in Corvallis…and Eugene…on trips to play golf at Bandon Dunes and some of the more interesting things we have heard in years in the game of college football have come out of Corvallis recently on Gary Andersen’s first year as the HC at Oregon State most of which will never see the light of day.

Still though….what we hear from people we trust in and around the game of college football helps to form our opinions of coaches and as we sit here in the middle of January 2016 it’s our opinion that…

2016 is CRITICAL for Gary Anderson and his future at Oregon State

….because another 2, 3 or even 4 win season and especially a zero or 1 win season in Pac-12 play and it’s our opinion that…

Gary Andersen is DONE in Corvallis

Let’s just say that the transition from Mike Riley to Gary Andersen has been a HARD ONE on everyone in and around the Oregon State football program including players, athletic staff, alumni, boosters and fans of Beavers football and when one goes through such a HUGE transition like Riley to Andersen if things don’t go right then things will usually “revert to form” and thus that is why…

2016 is CRITICAL for Gary Anderson and his future at Oregon State

Let’s take a look at Oregon State’s 2016 football schedule:

At Minnesota
Idaho State
Boise State
At Colorado
California
Utah
At Washington
Washington State
At Stanford
At UCLA
Arizona
Oregon

Our opinion on January 18, 2016…anything less than…

4 Overall Wins

2 Pac-12 Wins

…and Gary Andersen is DONE in Corvallis and SHOULD BE DONE in Corvallis.

Memo to Gary Andersen:  Read and Understand the below quote Fully Gary…Read and Understand it Fully…because it’s CRITICAL to your future son:

“Leadership is solving problems. The day soldiers stop bringing you their problems is the day you have stopped leading them. They have either lost confidence that you can help or concluded you do not care. Either case is a failure of leadership.” Colin Powell

ColinPowell1717

CraigBohls19911

16.  Craig Bohl, Wyoming – With North Dakota State winning its FIFTH straight FCS National Title a couple of weeks back….THREE of which belong to Wyoming head coach Craig Bohl….we here at Coaches Hot Seat still cannot help but wonder…

What in the Hell led to Craig Bohl to think the Wyoming job was better than North Dakota State?

….but whatever the Hell went through Bohl’s head he is the head coach at Wyoming and just completed his second season with records of…

Overall:  6 – 18

MWC:  4 – 12

…and if things don’t improve “significantly” meaning the Wyoming Cowboys win at least….

SIX Games

….in 2016 the Craig Bohl at Wyoming will be over come December 2016!

Not that we have any tears for Craig Bohl since he will get another top FCS head coaching job if he wants it but Craig come on now son…

“Why in the Hell did you take the Wyoming job?”

DougMartin281818

17.  Doug Martin, New Mexico State – Doug Martin has been the head coach at New Mexico State for THREE seasons now and has posted records of…

Overall:  7 – 29

Conference:  4 – 12

…and YES New Mexico State is a very TOUGH job but can the above losing go on forever in Las Cruces?

NO is the simple answer to that question!

WestPointFB81919

18.  Jeff Monken, Army – Army gave Navy a good game in 2015 before falling 21 – 17 to the Midshipmen BUT in our opinion Army head coach Jeff Monken is nowhere closer to turning around the Black Knights today than he was when he took the job TWO years ago and after TWO seasons on the job Monken has the following record on the board at West Point:

6 – 18

Several Coaches Hot Seat members got to see the Army football team in person in 2014 when Stanford played the Black Knights at West Point and our opinion going into that game, after that game, and still today is…

The US Army Football Team Directly Reflects the Broken US Army

USArmy777

The US Army as a WHOLE gets fixed the Army Football team will continue to wallow in its current Worse Than Average State

Take a look at Army’s 2016 Football Schedule:

At Temple
Rice
At UTEP
At Buffalo
At Duke
Lafayette
North Texas
At Wake Forest
Air Force
Notre Dame – San Antonio
Morgan State
Navy – Baltimore

…and tell us…

How many football games does Army win 2016?

2…maybe 3 games tops?

If Army only wins 3 games in 2016 Jeff Monken is DONE at Army…PERIOD.

As for how one would go about fixing the US Army as a WHOLE until someone…meaning a President of the United States…fixes the LEADERSHIP at the Pentagon and at the top of the US Army…

The US Army will continue to degrade and become something akin to what it was in the late 1970s….

A Pitiful Shell of its Former Great Self that will NOT be able to defend the American Republic if necessary

….in our humble opinion of course and many at Coaches Hot Seat are old enough to remember what a Complete Freaking Disaster the ENTIRE US Military was in the late 1970s.

RonCarager181818

19.  Ron Caragher, San Jose State – Ron Caragher’s San Jose State team was one of those teams that with only 5 wins got to play in a bowl game because….

The FBS Bowl System is a DISGRACE to the American Republic

…because it Rewards Mediocrity and now even WORSE and with that bowl win over Georgia State the Spartans improved to 6 – 7 BUT Ron Caragher’s records in THREE seasons at SJSU now stand at…

Overall:  15 – 22

MWC:  11 – 13

…after taking over at team that had one 10 games in 2012 (under Mike MacIntyre) and frankly Ron….

The above records SUCK

…and if you don’t get at least 6 wins in 2016…

YOU ARE DONE at San Jose State….in our humble opinion

….so get the Hell off your ass Ron Caragher or another former UCLA quarterback in Rick Neuheisel might be the head coach at San Jose State a year from now!

KansasFB888

20.  David Beaty, Kansas – We don’t know a whole lot of folks in the state of Kansas BUT we do know someone at Oklahoma and we asked that OU person what he thought of David Beaty’s 2015 Kansas football team and his response was…

“Pitiful…Just Pitiful”

…which is an old inside joke here at Coaches Hot Seat because that is what Jed Clampett used to say to Jethro when he failed to complete a simple task:

“Pitiful…Just Pitiful!”

JedClampett181818

The Kansas Jayhawks went 0 – 12 in David Beaty’s first year on the job and here is the 2016 Kansas Football Schedule:

Rhode Island
Ohio
At Memphis
At Texas Tech
TCU
At Baylor
Oklahoma State
At Oklahoma
At West Virginia
Iowa State
Texas
At Kansas State

Hmmmm…..thinking David Beaty and KU will win something like…

1 or 2 games in 2016

…and then what will happen?

Based upon what has happened in and around the Kansas football program in recent year…

We Haven’t A Damn Clue!
