21. Chuck Martin, Miami (Ohio) – What the Hell is this? Chuck Martin’s Miami (Ohio) team gets a win over Eastern Michigan by the score of 28 – 13 on Saturday?
We are SHOCKED because that is only FOUR wins now for Chuck Martin coaching the Redhawks in TWO seasons on the job which has led to the following records on the board…
Overall: 4 – 18
MAC: 3 – 11
….and we have to wonder….
How man wins can Chuck Martin and the Redhawks get in 2015 still having to play…

Hell…we don’t know but it would be nice if Chuck Martin could win his last TWO games and get his ass off the Hot Seat!
22. Charlie Strong, Texas – We don’t want to write in this spot that we will hear things and repeat them verbatim in this blog BUT a Coaches Hot Seat member was in Austin, Texas last week on business and while eating some of that good Texas barbeque two friends of the Coaches Hot Seat member were talking about Charlie Strong and the following was said after much discussion on the state of Texas football:
“I have this feeling that if the right school made a decent offer to Charlie Strong he would take it.”
What the Hell does that mean?
Would Charlie Strong maybe take a little less money to coach somewhere other than Texas to put the very unique in-fighting that exists around the Texas football program behind him and his family?
We don’t know the answer to that question but as we look over the now open head coaching jobs or head coaching jobs that will more than likely be coming open in the next few weeks….
We have a feeling that if South Carolina offered Charlie Strong $4 million dollars a year he would take it and run for his life out of Austin, Texas….which is our humble opinion of course.
Why would Charlie Strong take a $1 million dollar a year paycut to go from Texas to South Carolina which is clearly not as good of a job as the Longhorns head coaching job?
Call it Quality of Life or call it Something That is Familiar BUT most of all call it…
There are Lots of Pompous Arrogant Asses surrounding the Texas Football program that believe they are God’s Gift to the Earth that can make Austin a very uncomfortable place for a head coach and his family to live and we wouldn’t blame Charlie Strong at all if he went to South Carolina BUT would the Gamecocks be interested in hiring Charlie Strong considering the current state of Texas football?
Maybe…..Maybe Not.
As for the 2015 Texas Longhorns Charlie Strong has his football team sitting on a record of 4 – 5 and Texas still has to play games against…

At Baylor
….and unless the Horns beat West Virginia this Saturday we don’t think there is a Chance in Hell that Texas gets to 6 wins in 2015 and that will make Texas a very uncomfortable place for Charlie Strong in the coming offseason AND if Baylor runs Texas in that last game of the season…
We wouldn’t be surprised if someone around the Texas football program steps-up to write a BIG check to get Charlie Strong fired which might just happen because after all….

Kliff Kingsbury, Texas Tech – The loss to West Virginia on Saturday adds up to THREE straight losses for Kliff Kingsbury and leaves the Red Raiders at 5 – 5 on the season and needing another win just to get bowl eligible and is that what the “powers that be” at Texas Tech expected from Kingsbury’s football teams when they hired him THREE years ago in Lubbock….
Fighting for bowl eligibility with only TWO games left in the season?

Rich Rodriguez, Arizona – There are some fascinating things going on with Rich Rodriguez at Arizona and it will be very interesting to see what happens with RichRod in the coming weeks because it’s our opinion here at Coaches Hot Seat that Rodriguez is like most Americans that grow-up in the very green American East who are dropped into a place like Tucson, Arizona in the American Southwest which is how we feel as well growing up in the very green San Francisco Bay area which goes something like…
“Hey…the desert here in Arizona is just so Damn beautiful….the Sun is out all the time…the golf is great….the people are easy to be around…..this is just GREAT….BUT!”

….and that is why it’s so Damn important for Rodriguez to be in the right situation for himself and also his family and if we were RichRod’s agent right now we would be telling him something like….
“Focus on beating Utah and Arizona State….PERIOD…and let me talk to athletic directors and their “representatives” and we can sit down and talk on the evening of November 21 and see what if any viable options you might have on the table including a few very good jobs that are not now open that are likely to open in early December as coaches move to other programs.”
Focus on beating Utah Rich Rodriguez and the AD at Arizona Greg Byrne should make sure his potential head coach hiring list is updated and ready to go!
