Week 2 of College Football Season Is Upon Us – Post Week 1 – #6 Hot Seat – Dana Holgorsen – Houston

Week 2 of the College Football Season is upon us and what a Grand Thing College Football is and now that we are off and running let’s look at one of the CFB Head Coaches moving up the Coaches Hot Seat Rankings early in the 2021 season…

Dana Holgorsen, Houston

Tell Coach Holgorsen what’s he dealing with Johnny Cash!

Thanks Johnny!

Post Week 1 Coaches Hot Seat Rankings

#6 Hot Seat – Dana Holgorsen, Houston

Before the 2019 season Holgorsen was hired from Big 12 school West Virginia with much fanfare to follow Major Applewhite who posted a record of…

15 – 11

…in 3 seasons at the school and what is Holgorsen’s record now in Year 3?

7 – 14

Got a Total Damn Disaster in Houston?

We didn’t expect Holgorsen to light the world on fire at Houston, but we did expect him to win 8+ games a season but with 7 wins on the board in 2 years and a loss to Texas Tech to open the 2021 season Holgorsen’s job is in serious jeopardy and maybe in jeopardy before the season is finished!

Now at 0 – 1 on the year Houston and Holgorsen have these games left on the schedule…

At Rice
Grambling
Navy
At Tulsa
At Tulane
East Carolina
SMU
At South Florida
At Temple
Memphis
At UConn

Since it’s our opinion that Holgorsen will need 8 wins minimum to return to coach Houston in 2022 a loss to Rice on a Saturday would be nothing short of the beginning of the end of Holgo’s time in H-Town, but surely Houston is not going to lose to Rice…right?

Well…Rice did give Arkansas a tough game in Week 1!

As for the rest of the schedule Houston should be able to handle Grambling and Navy at home but…

At Tulsa
At Tulane
SMU
Memphis

…will be Tough Games and…

East Carolina
At South Florida
At Temple
At UConn

…should be Wins.

That adds up to…

1 Loss on the Board
6 Probable Wins
4 Potential Losses
1 Swing Game in Rice

Clearly Holgorsen and Houston will have to win some games they are not supposed to win in 2021 and thus why…

Houston better Damn beat Rice on Saturday or you can…

…on Dana Holgorsen at Houston!
