#3 Hot Seat – Clay Helton – USC – USC Will Only Face 1 Team With Equal or More Talent in 2021 = Notre Dame

#3 Hot Seat – Clay Helton – USC

Clay Helton happens to coach at one of the Top Jobs in College Football at USC and growing up in the 1970s we will always hold High Expectations for USC Football which for us means…

10+ Wins A Year and Competing for and Winning Pac-12 + National Championships on a Regular Basis and Always Being among the Top 15 Teams in America at a Damn Minimum!

In Clay Helton’s 6 seasons at USC he has posted records of…

Overall:  45 – 23

Pac-12:  36 – 12

….and has won…

1 Pac-12 Championship

….with 2 Top 15 Finishes in the AP Poll at the end of the season and frankly…

That’s not good enough for USC Football!

USC had a great chance to win the Pac-12 Title in 2020 but a very mediocre performance against Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship Game is what landed Clay Helton on the Hot Seat heading into the 2021 season, and it’s our opinion that anything short of USC winning the Pac-12 South Title the Trojans will be looking for a new Head Football Coach come early December.

USC has a very manageable schedule in 2021 and will face only…

1 Team with Equal or More Talent = Notre Dame in South Bend on October 23

…and thus there really is No Damn Reason why Helton can’t win at least 10 games in 2021 and with that in mind let’s look at the Trojans 2021 schedule:

San Jose State
Stanford
At Washington State
Oregon State
At Colorado
Utah
At Notre Dame
Arizona
At Arizona State
At California
UCLA
BYU

Although USC has more talent than every team on their schedule, save Notre Dame, there are so tricky spots where Clay Helton and the Trojans will have to avoid a slip-up including…

At Colorado
At Arizona State
At California
UCLA
BYU

….but barring an injury at a key position like QB we see no reason why the Trojans aren’t 6 – 0 when they play the Irish on October 23 and no more than 2 losses when the 2021 season is over.

Clay Helton has a very talented team heading into 2021 and we are expecting very big things…and hoping for very big things for Helton…because the time is short and it’s time for Clay to deliver Championships at USC because….

This Is USC Football we are talking about here!
