1. Jeff Scott, South Florida – The Hits or rather the Losses keep coming for Jeff Scott at South Florida who after the Bulls loss to Tulane on Saturday is sitting on records of >
Overall: 4 – 24 AAC: 1 – 17
That’s No Damn Good where we come from or where anyone comes from and with what the Bulls got left to play in 2022 >
At Houston At Temple SMU At Tulsa UCF
We see maybe 1 more win in 2022 and with that let’s bring in Dandy Don!
2. Bryan Harsin, Auburn – It’s not that Dandy Don is singing for Bryan Harsin at Auburn but that Dandy Don sang a long time ago and has already left town to head to the next Monday Night Football game and that was weeks ago now!
With the Auburn loss to Ole Miss on Saturday the Tigers are now 3 – 4 on the season and have left to play >
Arkansas At Mississippi State Texas A&M Western Kentucky At Alabama
Hell Harsin and the Tigers could get a couple of wins down the stretch here and if they beat the Aggies on The Plains on November 12 that will for sure end Jimbo Fisher’s time in Aggieland so Hell there’s something to play for here!
3. Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M – Talk about a BIG Football Game that means Nothing Damn At All in the Big Picture but means a Helluva Lot to both Head Coaches and you got the >
Texas A&M at South Carolina game this coming Saturday!
If the Aggies lose in this spot to fall to 3 – 4 on the season with these games left >
Ole Miss Florida At Auburn UMass LSU
The Aggies might not get 6 wins in 2022 and even if they did >
Cue Dandy Don on the Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M!
Don’t lose this game Jimbo but Hell if Jimbo does lose and the Aggies $$$ Boys and Girls had to run Jimbo they will owe him >
Whoever negotiated Jimbo Fisher’s contract on behalf of Texas A&M or anyone that signed off on it that works in or around Texas A&M >
Is not qualified to run a lemonade stand!
4. Pat Fitzgerald, Northwestern – No doubt the Biggest Candy Ass in the Midwest >
Patrick William Fitzgerald
Got in Lots of Tea Parties and Pillow Fights in during the Northwestern Non-Fighting Wildcats bye week and now it’s back to Pillow Fight Football for these 1 – 5 Cats who have left in 2022 >
At Maryland At Iowa Ohio State At Minnesota At Purdue Illinois
Will the Candy Ass Non-Fighting Wildcats win another game in 2022?
Not Damn Candy Ass Likely!
Anyone wants to find these Candy Ass Northwestern Cats we recommend checking out the Patisserie Coralie French Bakery + Coffee Shop in downtown Evanston where these Non-Fighting Cats can get High Tea and All the Crumpets they want from hopefully an NIL Deal that Candy Ass Patty Boy has put together for his Cats who will need plenty of Crumpets with all the Ass Kickings coming their way!
5. Marcus Freeman, Notre Dame – Coming into the Notre Dame game the Stanford Defense had given up points wise in 2022 against the 4 FBS Teams they played >
USC – 41 Points Washington – 40 Points Oregon – 45 Points Oregon State – 28 Points
And the Irish scored >
14 Points on the Stanford Defense?
Got Marcus Freeman doesn’t have a Damn Clue what he is doing and is about to get his ass run right out of South Bend?
With the Disastrous Loss to Stanford the Irish are now 3 – 3 with these games left >
UNLV At Syracuse Clemson Navy Boston College At USC
Hell the Irish might not get to 6 wins in 2022 and if that happens Notre Dame will have a New Head Coach in 2023 because Bozo the Clown coulda won 8 Games coaching this Irish team drunk from a Motel 6 just on the outskirts of South Bend!
6. Ken Niumatalolo, Navy – Navy lost at SMU with a first year head coach on Friday night to drop to 2 – 4 on the season and Kenny Boy and the Non-Fighting Sailors at Navy have left on their 2022 schedule games against >
Houston Temple At Cincinnati Notre Dame At UCF Army
Geez….a normal Navy team win 4 of these games minimum but will this Navy team even win 2?
Who the Hell knows and that’s the Damn Problem here!
7. David Shaw, Stanford – David Shaw and the Stanford Cardinal got just what they needed on Saturday >
A Notre Dame Football Team that isn’t really a Football Team but just a collection of Worthless Prima Donnas who love Prancing around and acting like Football Players but reality is the Notre Dame Chess Club could whip the Hell out of the Stanford and Notre Dame teams and make em both like it!
Stanford is now 2 – 4 on the season with wins over Colgate and Notre Dame = 2 Worthless Prancing Candy Ass Teams and the Cardinal has left in 2022 >
Arizona State At UCLA Washington State At Utah At California BYU
Will Stanford even get to 4 wins in 2022?
Who the Hell knows and does anyone really care?
Not really since all of the Passion, Fire, and just Simple Human Decency has been driven out of this Stanford Football Team by David Shaw and his Coaches who easily hold the >
Most Disgraceful Non-Football Practices in America!
8. Will Healy, Charlotte – With the loss to UAB on Saturday Charlotte Head Coach Will Healy’s records now stand at >
Overall: 15 – 23 CUSA: 10 – 13
Not Good Son
Not Good At All
Charlotte now at 1 – 6 has left in 2022 >
FIU At Rice Western Kentucky At Middle Tennessee La. Tech
Geez…Charlotte will be lucky to get 3 Wins this season!
9. Butch Jones, Arkansas State – With the loss at Southern Miss on Saturday Butch Jones records at Arkansas State now stand at >
Overall: 4 – 15 Sun Belt: 2 – 10
The folks, fans, alums, and administration at Arkansas State take their football seriously and they will run your ass with those kinds of records and with ASU now at 2 – 5 on the 2022 season with these games left >
At Louisiana South Alabama UMass At Texas State Troy
We recommend Butch Jones win 4 of these last 5 games or cue Dandy Don!
10. Brent Venables, Oklahoma – It was nice to see Oklahoma actually show up and play football on Saturday against Kansas and now it will be fascinating to see if the 4 – 3 Sooners can keep this going with these games left where OU has a Better or at worst Equal roster against all the remaining teams on their schedule >
At Iowa State Baylor At West Virginia Oklahoma State At Texas Tech
The Sooners SHOULD Win at least 3 of their remaining 5 games but will they even win 2 of them?
Let’s Find Out and if the Sooners don’t get 6 Wins in 2022 = Total Freaking Disaster!
1. Jimbo Fisher, Texas A&M – If you want to see a football team that has Totally Tuned out their Head Coach + Assistant Coaches put on tape of the Appy State at Texas A&M game from Saturday and you will see…
Lots of Aggies players playing at 50% or Less Effort who don’t give 1 Damn Rip what Jimbo Fisher says, does, or Damn anything else for that matter!
We been telling anyone that will listen that Jimbo Fisher has created a Helluva Problem in Aggieland by becoming King Jimbo and not being involved with Players on a daily basis and that reality has now reached Gameday and we could be looking at a Total Tailspin and Massive Crash & Burn with the Aggies if they lose another game and….
Here comes the Miami Hurricanes under new Head Coach Mario Cristobal to Aggieland which gonna pop the Aggies in the mouth and make em like it!
Lose to Miami in this spot with Arkansas in Dallas on deck and then this schedule…
At Mississippi State At Alabama At South Carolina Ole Miss Florida At Auburn UMass LSU
…Jimbo and the Aggies be Damn Lucky to win 6 games in 2022 and Jimbo wins less than 8 Wins this season according to our Aggies alum buddies…
“We are going to run Jimbo’s ass right out of the State of Texas forget about just College Station!”
Most Amazing Thing about Aggies loss to Appy State on Saturday is that was…wait for it…
Jimbo Fisher’s 50 th Freaking Football Game Coaching Texas A&M and that is what he has built in 50 games…what he put on the field against the Mountaineers?
How can Jimbo Fisher even go into work and collect a paycheck after that Total Horseshit Crapola he and the Aggies Coaches put on the field Saturday?
Shameful comes to mind but it’s worse than that…this is Borderline Flat-Out Quitting As Coaches!
If the Aggies don’t show up against Miami on Saturday then Jimbo and the entire Aggies staff should be fired and bring in some Pee Wee Coaches to coach the Aggies who actually Give A Damn and will get A&M ready to play football games!
We may just have 2 College Football Programs passing each other at Kyle Field on Saturday….
Miami headed UP
Texas A&M headed back to the Dumpster on Fire going down river!
2. Jeff Scott, South Florida – With a Win over Howard on Saturday Ole Jeff Scott has now won….wait for it…4 games at USF in 3 seasons and Ole Scott may not win another game for awhile >
At Florida At Louisville East Carolina At Cincinnati Tulane At Houston At Temple SMU At Tulsa UCF
We be stunned if USF won more than 1 more game in 2022….Totally Stunned!
3. David Shaw, Stanford – If not for Lincoln Riley calling off the Trojans Offense against Stanford in the 2 nd half USC would have easily scored 100+ points on David Shaw’s Cardinal which really is no longer a…
Football Team or Football Program
It’s just now….Damn Nothing!
Disgraceful come to mind
Pitiful comes to mind
But what really comes to mind is that the Super Duper Tea Party Candy Ass Football Program that David Shaw has allowed Stanford Football to become is a…
Total Disgrace to Stanford University and to the Game of Football in America!
This isn’t Football that is Stanford is playing….it’s Sub Tiddly-Winks with Candy Asses everywhere you look that couldn’t punch there way out of a wet paper sack on the best Damn day of their lives!
Now at 1 – 1 Shaw and Stanford have left…
At Washington At Oregon Oregon State At Notre Dame Arizona State At UCLA Washington State At Utah At California BYU
Geez…what now…Stanford might win 4 games total in 2022? Maybe…if they are Damn Lucky!
It’s Just A Damn Freaking Disgrace!
4. Karl Dorrell, Colorado – On Saturday Karl Dorrell coached his 20 the game as the Head Coach at Colorado against Air Force and…wait for it…
The Buffs got TOTALLY DESTROYED by the score of 41 – 10!
Why exactly Karl Dorrell was hired at Colorado we will never know because the hire made…
No Damn Sense if your ass actually watched Karl coach at UCLA
AND/OR
Your ass has a 2+ IQ!
Karl Dorrell is a terrific guy and human being and we wish his ass was winning at Colorado but this….
Is A Damn Disgrace to the University of Colorado and Football in America!
Now at 0 – 2 on the season the Buffs have left in 2022…
At Minnesota UCLA At Arizona California At Oregon State Arizona State Oregon At USC At Washington Utah
Geez…the Buffs might not win a game in 2022!
We’ll go 2 – 10 record for Colorado in 2022 as a guess and our humble opinion!
5. Scot Loeffler, Bowling Green – With the loss to FCS Eastern Kentucky on Saturday Bowling Green Head Coach Scot Loeffler’s records in 4 seasons at the school are now…
Overall: 7 – 24 MAC: 4 – 17
Nothing else needs to said or written on Loeffler!
6. Marcus Freeman, Notre Dame – We have been watching Notre Dame Football since the early 1970s and since the Irish play USC and Stanford every season we have seen lots of Notre Dame games in person in South Bend, Los Angeles, Palo Alto, and at bowl games and here’s what we know about Notre Dame Football!
No one with a 2+ IQ and/or has watched 1 Down of Football in their lives on any Damn level would hire…
Someone to be the Head Coach at Notre Dame unless they have been a SUCCESSFUL College Head Coach before!
Hiring an Assistant Coach at Notre Dame who never even sniffed a Head Coaching Job forget about being SUCCESSFUL in that job is…
Total and Complete Stupidity and Level of Human Ignorance that goes beyond the 2003 Iraq War which only a…
Total Damn Moron would have launched and George W. Bush is one of the Stupidest Bastards we ever run into and we known W since the early 1980s!
Memo to Marcus Freeman since your ass knows NOTHING about being Head Coach Son >
Your ONLY JOB Son is to deliver your football team to Gameday….wait for it…
READY TO PLAY FOOTBALL!
We are not talking about having a Great Gameplan and making sure your football team is ready on the physical side to play the game….Any Damn Moron Coach can do that if he has a 2+ IQ…we are talking about something far more important Son…
Making Damn Sure Your Football Team is READY To Play the Game!
The Irish on Saturday were…
NOT READY TO PLAY Marshall and that…
WAS YOUR ONLY DAMN JOB KID which your ass is being paid Millions of Dollars to do and if you can’t do that Son guess what…
Your Ass Is Going To Get Run…and after Season 1!
This is the Damn Leagues Son not Podunk U so Get Off Your Damn Ass and Coach the Notre Dame Football Team and don’t you dare lose to California on Saturday….or your ass might get run right after the game! Kidding of course now…but highly recommend you don’t lose to Cal because if you do Son the folks with the $$$ around Notre Dame gonna start talking about putting a pot of $$$ together to buy you and Jack out!
7. Ken Niumatalolo, Navy – The Complete Destruction of Navy Football continues under Ken Niumatalolo with a loss to Memphis by 3+ touchdowns on Saturday and in the last 3 seasons Kenny Boy has put up records of…
3 – 7 4 – 8 0 – 2
…and we don’t see any end in sight of this Total Damn Madness and Complete Destruction of Navy Football…until Ken and his Candy Ass Football is…
Banished from the US Naval Academy….FOREVER!
End This Damn Idiocy already!
8. Butch Jones, Arkansas State – With the Arkansas State loss to Ohio State by score of 45 – 12 on Saturday Butch Jones records at ASU now stand at…
Overall: 3 – 11
Sun Belt: 1 – 7
…and the Sun Belt just proved it’s No Damn Joke on Saturday so with these games left…
At Memphis At Old Dominion La. Monroe James Madison At Southern Miss At Louisiana South Alabama UMass Texas State Troy
…..it ain’t gonna be easy to get the Red Wolves to 6 wins in 2022 and the Arkansas State folks are exactly patient with coaches that don’t get them to at least 6 wins every season!
9. Geoff Collins, Georgia Tech – The Yellow Jackets beat Western Carolina on Saturday which is Geoff Collins…
10 th Win in 4 seasons at Georgia Tech
…and with these games left on the schedule…
Ole Miss At UCF At Pitt Duke Virginia At Florida State At Virginia Tech Miami At North Carolina At Georgia
….it ain’t exactly like there are lots of Wins left on Tech’s schedule now!
We’ll guess 4 – 8 and see if Collins can beat our guess!
10. Steve Sarkisian, Texas – Sometimes you gotta wonder about a Coach like Sarkisian calling pass plays from inside the 5 yard-line with a Freshman QB on the field that ends up getting the Freshman QB injured and out of a game where he’s playing some good football, but these are things that…
Great Coaches Think About and A Great Coach
…is not Damn throwing the ball from the 2-yard line and getting his Freshman QB hurt when playing Alabama when you had to know Bama would be coming after his ass!
We really also don’t have Damn Clue what Alabama OC Bill O’Brien was doing on Saturday who easily called one of the…
Worst Offensive Games in recent College Football History
…throwing the ball lots when Alabama could have used their running game to pound Texas and hang onto the football but…
Arrogant Asses have to prove their Ass can do something and Billy Boy called lots of pass plays to prove what exactly…that his ass could?
In a game Alabama should have won by 2+ Touchdowns on Billy Boy with Little Nicky listening in on the headset called Dumb Play after Dumb Play and if Texas could tackle as well as Aunt Mildred they easily beat Alabama or if Sark would just…
Run the Damn Ball at the Endzone he doesn’t get his Freshman QB hurt and Texas wins the game!
Stupid…Just Plain Stupidity on both side of this Bama – Horns game!
Now at 1 – 1 when Texas should be 2 – 0 and rolling with a win over Alabama the Horns have left in 2022…
UTSA At Texas Tech West Virginia Oklahoma Iowa State At Oklahoma State At Kansas State TCU At Kansas Baylor
Texas could easily lose to UTSA at home and the rest of those games are No Damn Joke either including at Kansas so don’t think that just because Sark and Texas gave Alabama a good game…remember now..
Billy Boy O’Brien Dumber than Anyone on Earth…well not as Dumb as George W Bush now
….that they will roll rest of the 2022 because their asses could easily lose 5+ games this season and that happens…
Week 2 was interesting on the MUST WIN Game front with coaches under lots of the pressure going…
4 – 6
….in their MUST WIN Games which just turns up the HEAT even more on those coaches that lost, and in Week 3 there are 18 CFB Head Coaches facing MUST WIN Games and with that in mind we ask the Eagles and Randy Meisner to motivate these Coaches + Teams To Take It To the Limit to get a win in these games. Bring It Randy!
Thanks Randy!
Rich Rodriguez, Arizona vs. UTEP – Going back to the loss to Washington State at home in 2015 in Arizona’s last 20 games Rich Rodriguez has posted a record of…
6 – 14
…which his nothing short of a Complete Freaking Disaster for Arizona Football and thus after a home loss to Houston there is just No Damn Way Rodriguez and his Wildcats can lose to UTEP in El Paso on Friday night. If Rodriguez did lose this game to an UTEP coach in Sean Kugler who is also on the Hot Seat and has posted a record of 18 – 33 in four-plus seasons on the job then RichRod might as well call the movers on the way back to Tucson because it’s….
….time in the desert!
Mark Whipple, UMass vs. Temple – In the last four seasons Mark Whipple has posted a record at UMass of…
8 – 31
…and one would think sooner or later one would have to start winning some football games to keep your job…even at UMass…right?
Yep…Temple is a MUST WIN Game for Mark Whipple and the Minuteman but we don’t give them much of a chance to win this MUST WIN Game!
Scottie Montgomery, East Carolina vs. Virginia Tech– Scottie Montgomery’s East Carolina football team is in a mini-meltdown with the defensive coordinator being let go and Montgomery off to an 0 – 2 start in 2017 after posting a 3 – 9 record last season and now here comes Virginia Tech showing up in Week 3 in a MUST WIN Game spot is far from optimal, but with a game against USF on deck beating the Hokies is a MUST WIN because a loss here and the Pirates might not win a game in 2017!
Coach against Virginia Tech like your job is on the line Scottie Montgomery…because it is!
David Shaw, Stanford vs. San Diego State – A few Coaches Hot Seat members were at the LA Coliseum for the Stanford – USC game last Saturday and it was apparent in the pregame that the Trojans were JACKED to play the Cardinal and that it was going to take 40+ points to beat USC which Stanford didn’t have in them even if David Shaw had coached the game to score 40+ points…which he didn’t!
Now here come a road game at San Diego State which just beat Arizona State in Tempe and this is truly a cross-roads game for Stanford in 2017 because a loss to the Aztecs means that EVERY team left on the Cardinal schedule can beat Stanford but a win in this spot to improve to 2 – 1 with UCLA and Arizona State at home on The Farm up next Stanford will have a chance to get things rolling in 2017…but first they MUST BEAT San Diego State in what is a MUST WIN Game for David Shaw and his football team.
Be ready a battle boys and if you are not ready to fight…just stay in northern California because the Aztecs will whip and embarrass your asses for all the country to see!
Gary Andersen, Oregon State vs. Washington State – We consider Oregon State to be a school that in today’s world where there are several strong teams in the Pac-12 North Division as a place where a solid head coach will win 6 to 7 games a year and take the Beavers to a bowl game every season. In 14 seasons as the head coach at Oregon State Mike Riley posted a record of…
93 – 80
…and took the Beavers to a postseason bowl game in…
8 of the 14 seasons
…so in our opinion Mike Riley fell short of what Oregon State Football should be especially considering that the Pac-12 North division is a lot tougher division today than it was in the past.
Gary Andersen is a solid football coach but he will have to recruit and coach at a high level to get Oregon State to 6+ wins year in and year out and after a 1 – 1 start that includes getting blasted by Colorado State and barely beating Portland State this Saturday’s match-up with Washington State is a MUST WIN Game with the following games on deck…
Washington At USC Colorado Stanford
Yep…beating the Cougs is a MUST WIN Game for Gary Andersen and the Beavers!
Butch Jones, Tennessee vs. Florida – Butch Jones is a Tennessee player from not making a hustle play in the 4 th quarter against Georgia Tech to cause a fumble giving the Vols the chance to win in overtime and start the 2017 season at 2 – 0 instead of 1 – 1 after a win over Cupcake Indiana State and now the actual season begins for Tennessee with a MUST WIN Game at The Swamp against Florida on Saturday.
If Tennessee did lose to the Gators on Saturday Butch Jones record in SEC Conference play in his last 7 SEC games would drop to…
2 – 5
….and Jones would find his ass heating up again with the 4 following games coming right at the Vols:
Georgia South Carolina At Alabama At Kentucky
Yep….we recommend Butch Jones and Tennessee find a way to beat Florida on Saturday or back up the Hot Seat Rankings Butch Jones will climb!
Jim McElwain, Florida vs. Tennessee – In two-plus seasons at Florida Jim McElwain has posted impressive records of…
Overall: 19 – 9
SEC: 13 – 3
….but this is FLORIDA Football we are talking about here where any coach should be able to drop a few footballs by the practice field and the Gators would win 8+ games a season if the coaches have recruited at all and thus we are going to hold Jim McElwain and ANY Florida Football coach to a very high standard.
The problem for Jim McElwain and Florida after the opening season debacle game against Michigan which exposed a Gators offense that can be easily shutdown is that a loss in this spot to the Vols to drop to 0 – 2 with these games coming up….
Vanderbilt LSU Texas A&M Georgia (Jacksonville) At Missouri At South Carolina UAB Florida State
….it’s not hard to imagine Florida not getting 6 wins in 2017 with the Northern Colorado game being cancelled and if Jim McElwain doesn’t win 6 games this season he will need to win 10+ games in 2018 or his ass will be sent packing out of Gainesville!
Jim Mora, UCLA vs. Memphis – Most people don’t realize how important..make that VITAL….it was for Jim Mora and UCLA to come back and beat Texas A&M in their opening game because after dispatching Hawaii in Week 2 the schedule gets a lot tougher beginning with a game…
At Memphis
….on Saturday and if the Bruins did lose to Memphis with these games still on the schedule…
At Stanford Colorado At Arizona Oregon At Washington At Utah Arizona State At USC Cal
…there’s a decent chance UCLA doesn’t win 6 games in 2017 and BIG buyout or not Jim Mora would probably find his ass out of a job come December after two straight losing seasons in Westwood!
David Beaty, Kansas vs. Ohio – Kansas Football or not we would like to think that a head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks football team could in his…
26 th Game
…as a head coach take his Big 12 Conference Football Team to Athens, Ohio and beat a MAC Conference Ohio University Football Team…right?
Damn Right is the answer to that question!
There just is NO Legitimate Excuse for Kansas Football to lose this game to Ohio on Saturday and thus this is a MUST WIN Game for David Beaty and his football team with these Big 12 games left on the schedule:
West Virginia Texas Tech At Iowa State At TCU Kansas State Baylor At Texas Oklahoma At Oklahoma State
Damn….if Kansas loses to Ohio…in our opinion…the Jayhawks will not win another game in 2017 to finish the season at….
1 – 11
…with only a win over SE Missouri State.
Coach em hard David Beaty!
Bronco Mendenhall, Virginia vs. UConn– The Bronco Mendenhall experiment at Virginia which is as much about Bronco not being at BYU as being at Virginia is off to a rough start with a record of….
3 – 11
…on the board two games into his second season at Charlottesville and we are fascinated to see how this all plays out. Bronco Mendenhall is a very good football coach, but he also is a man who like Mitt Romney, who a few of us have run into many times over the years, someone that carries his religion with him to such an extent it dominates his life as much at Catholicism dominated the lives of past head coaches at Notre Dame. We have many Mormon friends in the state of Utah who we visit for at least a week every Summer which includes lots of outdoor activities and sporting contests and we fight like brothers with them to win everything from golf to ping-pong all day long and then at night they go home and we go out to get a few beers at the bars on main street in Park City. We love our Mormon friends because they are not merely “Good People”…they are…”Great People” who are the kind of folks you could always count on if you were ever in trouble and Bronco Mendenhall is cut from the same mold as our friends in Utah, and that’s why it is so fascinating to us to see if Mendenhall can succeed outside of the cocoon that he lived in at BYU…and like it or not BYU is a cocoon…that is somewhat separate from much of American life such as how life is lived in Charlottesville, Virginia.
We are pulling hard for Bronco Mendenhall to succeed at Virginia but after getting beat by Indiana at home last Saturday to drop to 1 – 1 on the season this week’s game at home against UConn is a MUST WIN Game because of what is left on the Cavs schedule:
At Boise State Duke At North Carolina Boston College At Pitt Georgia Tech At Louisville At Miami Virginia Tech
With a loss to UConn on Saturday we don’t think Virginia will have any chance at all to get to 6 wins in 2017 with the above schedule so with that mind…
Give the UConn Huskies Heck Bronco!
Mike Riley, Nebraska vs. Northern Illinois – Mike Riley is now in his 3 rd season at Nebraska and he has coached 28 games and posted an overall record of…
16 – 12 (.571)
Below are the records after 28 games of the Nebraska head coaches after Tom Osborne:
Frank Solich: 23 – 5 (.821)
Bill Callahan: 17 – 11 (.607)
Bo Pelini: 20 – 8 (.714)
As anyone can clearly see Mike Riley is 4 th in winning percentage…
Frank Solich: .821 Bo Pelini: .714 Bill Callahan: .607 Mike Riley: .571
….in the head coaches following the Great Tom Osborne at Nebraska and Riley knows that if he continues along the current path his tenure in Lincoln will not be long.
The thing about coaching at Nebraska is the head coach feels the pressure of the job but he has a hard time finding where that pressure is coming from since the folks in the state of Nebraska are so nice and disarming and just downright decent, but we can tell Mike Riley that after having friends in the Omaha area for over two decades that are Nebraska-alums Riley’s performance to date is something that is discussed on a regular basis and if Riley doesn’t get things going with the Cornhuskers soon…Mike Riley and Nebraska AD Shawn Eichorst will find out who is in charge of things and who can send both of them packing!
After an 1 – 1 start to the season and a decent showing against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene Mike Riley and the Cornhuskers host Northern Illinois in Lincoln on Saturday in the Biggest MUST WIN Game of Riley’s tenure at Nebraska because if the Huskers lose this game at home to Northern Illinois things would heat up in a Helluva hurry on the Great Plains of America!
Oh here is what Nebraska has left after Northern Illinois:
Rutgers At Illinois Wisconsin Ohio State At Purdue Northwestern At Minnesota At Penn State Iowa
We have it on good authority that Nebraska fans are expecting 10+ wins in Mike Riley’s third season coaching the Cornhuskers and if you lose to Northern Illinois not only is 10+ wins out the window…..Hell there’s a good chance Nebraska has a hard time winning 8 games if you can’t beat the NIU Huskies at home!
Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M vs. Louisiana– We don’t give the 23 point underdogs Louisiana much chance to beat Texas A&M on Saturday but if somehow the Ragin’ Cajuns did beat the Aggies at Kyle Field we feel confident in saying that Kevin Sumlin would be fired right after the game because if you can’t beat Louisiana in College Station in Week 2 there’s not a Damn chance in Hell you are going to beat Arkansas in Dallas in Week 3.
Yes…Louisiana is a MUST WIN Game for Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M but it so unimaginable that the Aggies could lose this game that we should probably call this a….
You Better Damn Win Or Your Ass Will Be Fired Game for Kevin Sumlin!
Brian Kelly, Notre Dame vs. Boston College – As Bob Stoops proved earlier this year college football head coaches either leave of their own volition or their ass eventually gets fired and Brian Kelly at Notre Dame is now heading towards the latter category after a home loss to Georgia, an unnecessary tiff with a reporter after the game, and most important of all now sitting on a record of…
5 – 11
….in Notre Dame’s last 16 games which at a place like Notre Dame is a mark that should have already gotten Brian Kelly fired if the folks making the decisions in South Bend actually gave a Damn about Excellence and Winning!
The Notre Dame at Boston College on Saturday isn’t so much a MUST WIN Game for Brian Kelly as it is a…
Your Ass Better Not Lose It OR Your Head Coaching Career Is Good As Over
….game for Kelly because a loss in this spot to a BC team that under Steve Addazio in the last five seasons has posted an overall record of…
25 – 28
….would be beyond embarrassing and borderline….
“Why the Hell is Brian Kelly still the head coach of the Irish?”
….like moment!
An interesting number of Brian Kelly at Notre Dame over his 8 seasons at the school….the Irish have played 71 games against Power 5 Conference schools and Kelly’s record in those 71 games is…
42 – 29
….for a….
.592
….winning percentage in Power 5 Conference Games.
Is that Notre Dame Football?
Not only NO but…HELL NO!
Steve Addazio, Boston College vs. Notre Dame – As mentioned above Steve Addazio in his fifth season at Boston College and has posted an overall record of…
25 – 28
….which is Below Average at best and Addazio’s record in ACC Conference play is even worse at….
10 – 22
….and after starting the season with a win over Northern Illinois and BC getting its ass whipped by Wake Forest here come the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame in a match-up that is a…
Better Damn Win Game for both Coaches + Teams
…with the losing coach shooting up the Coaches Hot Seat Rankings and the winning coach leaving the game with his ass still on fire!
Great Luck to you Coaches Kelly and Addazio!
Larry Fedora, North Carolina vs. Old Dominion – After opening the season with homes losses to Cal and Louisville Larry Fedora has the North Carolina football team in a Helluva mess and his ass on the precipice of being launched onto the Hot Seat with a loss to Old Dominion on Saturday in a game that North Carolina just CANNOT LOSE forget about the entire MUST WIN Game situation for Fedora.
With Duke up next and then Georgia Tech Larry Fedora better Damn find a way to beat Old Dominion on Saturday or it will be….
Welcome to the Hot Seat Larry!
Barry Odom, Missouri vs. Purdue – Barry Odom has not exactly lit the woods on fire in his first two seasons as the head coach at Mizzou and after starting 1 – 1 in 2017 Odom has records on the board of…
Overall: 5 – 9
SEC: 2 – 7
….and the one thing that Odom does not need at this moment is a team that hasn’t been very good in recent years, think Purdue, that has a new head coach in Jeff Brohm who has the Boilermakers offense rolling and just might come into Columbia and hang 40+ points on the Tigers!
With games coming next against…
Auburn At Kentucky At Georgia
….before playing Idaho on October 21 the Mizzou Tigers could be….
1 – 5
….if they lost to Purdue on Saturday which would put Odom’s ass into orbiting the Sun HEAT territory so you better Damn beat Purdue Coach Odom!
Todd Graham, Arizona State vs. Texas Tech – We asked around a bit this week to our friends in the Phoenix area and the word on the street is Graham needs…
8 wins
…in 2017 to keep his job but might be able to return to coach in 2018 if Arizona State wins 7 games this season and those 7 wins include a win over Arizona. With that in mind with ASU now at 1 – 1 on the season and games left against….
At Texas Tech Oregon At Stanford Washington At Utah USC Colorado At UCLA At Oregon State Arizona
….we don’t see any way that the Sun Devils get to 7 wins if they don’t beat Texas Tech on Saturday which = MUST WIN Game for Todd Graham and his football team!
Kliff Kingsbury, Texas Tech vs. Arizona State – In four-plus seasons as the head coach at Texas Tech Kliff Kingsbury has posted the very uninspiring records of…
Overall: 25 – 26
Big 12: 13 – 23
…which you would consider uninspiring if you give a Damn about the Red Raiders fielding a Winning Football Program which Hell…maybe the folks in Lubbock really don’t give a Damn about…but even if they do embrace being…
Totally Damn Average
…in Lubbock one would have to think that if Kingsbury doesn’t win at least 6 games in 2017 his ass is gone…right?
Who the Hell knows since Texas Football all across the Republic of Texas is So Damn Average these days!
Now at 1 – 0 on the season after beating Cupcake Eastern Washington in the opening game the Red Raiders really need to beat Arizona State at home in the second game with this schedule still remaining:
At Houston Oklahoma State At Kansas At West Virginia Iowa State At Oklahoma Kansas State Baylor TCU At Texas
We really don’t see 6 wins on the Texas Tech schedule if they don’t beat Arizona State on Saturday so Yep…you got it…this is a MUST WIN Game for Kliff Kingsbury and the Red Raiders!
Well that has been one Helluva two weeks to start the college football season for us here at Coaches Hot Seat…what about for you folks?
At least in our households there is nothing that can get the attention of everyone from the kids to the adults…including our wives…like the game of football and it’s fascinating to see the anticipation for the football season and the games unfold each week and year. Only the Olympic Games from our younger days in the 1970s through 2000 or so created as much excitement as the game of football in our lives and Good, Bad or Indifferent it’s great to have football back which when you get down to it just “Feels Good” like Glen Campbell singing Gentle On My Mind:
Thank You Glen Campbell and now let’s bring out the Late Great Johnny Cash to send a message to the Coaches on the Hot Seat!
“”Losing records over more than one year in any sport are unacceptable,” Crow said. “You have to look at what the reasons are and the dynamics, but (football) coach (Todd) Graham completely understands that his very successful start at ASU has got to be realized again.”
Graham’s teams were 28-12 from 2012-14 and 11-14 since (39-26 overall). He is going into his sixth season with five new assistant coaches including both coordinators and four years left on his contract after not receiving a one-year extension as he had in the past.
“We’ve got tremendous athletes, new coordinators, new thoughtful additions to the coaching staff,” Crow said. “Coach Graham is completely energized. I don’t think it’s possible for him to be un-energized. We’re exciting about bringing all of that together. We think we’ve got a great culture that’s been evolving. We’re excited about this season, but losing seasons at our level of performance expectation are unacceptable.” “
Yep…that’s about as Damn Clear as an university president can get when it comes to what he or she expects out of their football program and Bravo for President Crow in being upfront and having high expectations because having high expectations for oneself and the company or institution you work for is not only what made America GREAT it’s what has defined the American Republic from the start!
Getting back to Todd Graham the worst thing that could have happened to Todd Graham was for him to lose any of his three non-conference games against New Mexico State, San Diego State and Texas Tech, but on Saturday night ASU lost to a very good San Diego State team and now has to play Texas Tech in Lubbock in what is seriously a MUST WIN Game for Todd Graham and his Sun Devils with NINE Pac-12 Conference games still on the slate and a tough slate it is after Tech:
Oregon At Stanford Washington At Utah USC Colorado At UCLA At Oregon State Arizona
Damn! Let’s assume for a moment that Todd Graham could get away with 7 wins and thus return for the 2018 season as the head coach at Arizona State…if ASU falls to 1 – 2 after a loss to Texas Tech where in the Hell are 6 more wins out of the remaining 9 games on the Arizona State schedule?
Yep….Todd Graham better Damn get his team straightened out before they get to Lubbock and they better Damn score 45 points if they want to be the Red Raiders on Saturday!
2. Brian Kelly, Notre Dame – There are lots of folks in the media talking about how many games Notre Dame has lost in the last year by “less than one score” and we have some news for the folks who we like to call the…
“Cry Me A River of Tears Non-Fighting Irish Enablers”
….in the last 16 games under Brian Kelly Notre Dame’s record is…
5 – 11
The funny thing is that the folks from Georgia actually think they went to South Bend and actually accomplished something when in FACT they only did what James Franklin said beating Pitt felt like to the Nittany Lions…
“Like beating Akron!”
Yep fans of Georgia Football…your asses just beat Akron wearing gold helmets and you are one of the….
11 teams
…that have beaten Notre Dame in their last 16 games so don’t act like you have done anything big boys because you haven’t!
As for the future of Brian Kelly who proved once again in the post-Georgia game press conference that he is a…
…in our opinion we have it on good authority that if Kelly wins less than 9 games in 2017 his ass is DONE in South Bend!
Here’s what Notre Dame has left on their schedule now at 1 – 1 on the year and look for 8 more wins for the Irish in 2017 with us:
At Boston College At Michigan State Miami (Ohio) At North Carolina USC NC State Wake Forest At Miami Navy At Stanford
Well…Notre Dame has more talent than every team remaining on their schedule save the USC Trojans so how many games might Brian Kelly and the Irish win out of the 10 remaining?
Our guess….Notre Dame will be lucky to win 7 games in 2017 and that means one of the highest profile jobs in FBS football will open up in late November – early December and one’s gotta think that if the Irish job does open up that the first call will be to Bob Stoops to see if he’s interested in getting back into coaching and if Bob isn’t interested then we know who the second call will be to but we don’t want to throw that coach’s name out there since he might have a shot at getting his team into the College Football Playoff this year and he doesn’t need the Damn headache of a mention with the Notre Dame job!
3. Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M – A few of us were watching a tape of the Nicholls – Texas A&M game on Sunday night and the Aggies….don’t look like that great of a football team and in our opinion don’t look like they are all that interested in playing football in our opinion…but then it was Nicholls the Aggies were playing and this week A&M gets La. Lafayette or Louisiana as they like to be called now, and if the Aggies play like they did against Nichols against Louisiana their asses will get beat and that should get someone’s attention in College Station one would think!
As for the racist letter that Kevin Sumlin received this past week that his wife posted on Twitter we have no problem with people speaking out against racism when they experience it or identifying racists directly when they come into contact with them. The Lily-White Boys at Coaches Hot Seat raised in the 1970s-80s were primarily raised in California by parents that would not tolerate racism or bigotry or any kind and would even jump down your ass if you didn’t respect older people and say “Yes Sir and Yes Ma’am” when interacting with them and our Fathers…Oh Damn…we were raised in a time in America when Fathers…no doubt like Kevin Sumlin’s father…who would use the belt on our asses if we did something bad enough that called for the belt and no doubt if we used the belt on our kids today like out Dads did they would haul our asses away to the jail!
One thing in particular that a few of our Fathers instilled in us was that we should not let someone make a racist statement and get away with it if we were in a place where it was appropriate to do or say something about it, and on more than one occasion we have been in situations where other white folks have said something racist that we have responded to in a verbal way that in a few situations escalated to a physical altercation, but then that is what our Fathers would have expected of us. The most surprising thing about the racist letter sent to Kevin Sumlin’s house is that anyone is surprised that there are Millions of Racists in America that hold racist views of people that don’t look or act or talk or generally aren’t exactly like them and for those that were surprised we have a Newsflash for you….
There are Millions of Racists in America!
The Great Bobby Bowden has a terrific quote on about treating people that are harsh to you “with kindness” because it really kills them when you do that, but a few years ago a couple of us were with our wives at a party near the Pebble Beach Golf Resort on the Monterey Peninsula which was all white folks and some guy says something very racist about black people that we will not repeat in this blog post and the two of us can remember well our wives looking at each other who were no doubt thinking that they were about to leave this party which is exactly what happened but not before the two of us hauled the guy that made the racist comment out on the patio and throttled his ass which our wives weren’t thrilled with but made us feel good! The thing is when you play sports and you serve in the US Military you are forced to work, live, eat, and play with people from all kinds of backgrounds, colors, creeds, religions, philosophies on life, etc., and you cannot be around people that are different than you and but come away with a Helluva lot different view of life than people that have spent their entire lives in one town, around one type of people, and living one kind of life and it’s too bad that all Americans can’t play sports and serve in the military because it would do a Helluva lot of good for our country….in our humble opinion.
Getting back to Kevin Sumlin the word on the street in Texas is that anything less than 10 wins in 2017 and Sumlin will be out of a job come late November and now at 1 – 1 on the season here is what the Aggies have left to play:
Louisiana Arkansas (Dallas) South Carolina Alabama At Florida Mississippi State Auburn New Mexico At Ole Miss At LSU
In our opinion A&M has more talent than every team remaining on its schedule except for Alabama and LSU and the Aggies have roughly equal talent to Florida and Auburn so assume the Aggies lose to Alabama at home and to LSU in Baton Rouge that is only 9 wins and we don’t think 9 wins in 2017 is going to get it done for Sumlin unless maybe that 9th win was over LSU in Baton Rouge to end the season….now that might get Sumlin one more year to prove he can turn the Aggies into a serious contender for the SEC Conference Title which in our opinion the Aggies should be in the middle of…
Every Damn Year!
For those that don’t know it the Main Reason Kevin Sumlin is on the Hot Seat are the below two records:
SEC: 21 – 19
Against FBS Teams: 26 – 22
At Texas A&M that’s just flat-out…Not Good Enough!
4. Mark Whipple, UMass – Mark Whipple and UMass lost to Old Dominion at home on Saturday to drop the Minutemen’s record to 0 – 3 in 2017 and Whipple’s record in the last four years at UMass now stands at:
8 – 21
Damn…that’s not a good thing Martha Stewart who lives up UMass way might say!
Can UMass win a game in 2017?
At Temple At Tennessee Ohio At USF Georgia Southern Appalachian State At Mississippi State Maine At BYU
Maybe the Minutemen can beat a struggling Georgia Southern team and maybe they can beat the Maine Black Bears….Maybe!
5. Lance Leipold, Buffalo – With Buffalo’s loss to Army on Saturday in a close game by the score of 21 – 17 Lance Leipold’s records at Buffalo now stand at:
Overall: 7 – 19
MAC: 4 – 12
Those are “Firing Numbers” is what a certain member at Coaches Hot Seat would say in this spot and he would be right!
Up next for Buffalo is a MUST WIN game against Colgate and then they host FAU on September 23 in a game that if Leipold and the Bulls win will launch Lane Kiffin’s ass back onto the Hot Seat and Oh that will be fun to be roasting Lane Kiffin’s ass again here at Coaches Hot Seat so….
Memo to Lance Leipold: Beat Colgate and FAU Son!
6. Chris Ash, Rutgers – After the Total Debacle of a loss to Eastern Michigan on Saturday Rutgers head coach Chris Ash is now facing the MUST WIN Game of all-time on Saturday in a home game against FCS Morgan State and in our opinion if Ash can’t win this game his ass should be fired right after the game and told to turn in the keys to his courtesy car because….
You are done Son!
OK…let’s assume Rutgers beats Morgan State to improve to 1 – 2 on the season which is only right since a loss in this spot and….Ash is done…what does Rutgers have left after the Morgan State game?
At Nebraska – Loss Ohio State – Loss At Illinois – Who knows Purdue – Loss At Michigan – Loss Maryland – Loss At Penn State – Loss At Indiana – Loss Michigan State – Who knows
OK….Rutgers COULD win 3 games in 2017 if everything goes right and every fan of Rutgers football that just read that line put his or her head down and said…
“The Hell with the whole Damn thing!”
7. Bret Bielema, Arkansas – Last week in the Must Win Game blog post we said that Bret Bielema’s record against FBS schools was 14 – 25 in 5 seasons at Arkansas when in fact his record against FBS schools is now after the TCU game…
20 – 27
…and his record against Power 5 Conference schools now stands at….
14 – 26
OK…Bret Bielema is making…
$4.4 Million Dollars A Year
…and he has already been paid by Arkansas…
$16+ Million Dollars
…and here’s the kicker if Bret Bielema is fired anytime between now and December 31, 2017 his buyout is….
Total Damn Moron that knows NOTHING about Football
….would have given to Weis so what does this massive…
$15.4 Million Dollars
…buyout say about Arkansas AD Jeff Long who has given a contact north of….
$30 Million Dollars
….to a coach who has a record in SEC Conference play of…
10 – 22
….against FBS teams of…
20 – 27
…and against Power 5 schools of…
14 – 26
That would make Jeff Long a Damn Moron of a very High Order just behind the Damn Morons at Notre Dame that signed Charlie Weis to a long-term deal when no one at Coaches Hot Seat would have EVER hired Charlie Weis to wash our cars forget about being our head football coach!
Last week we said that Texas A&M fans should be proud of Being Average because Kevin Sumlin had posted records of…
SEC: .525
Against FBS Teams: .542
…so guess what Bret Bielema’s records are….
SEC: .313
Against FBS Teams: .426
Forget Being Average fans of Arkansas Football…Be Very Damn Proud…you are…
Way Damn Below Average Folks!
Oh…now at 1 – 1 on the season here is what Arkansas has left after looking like Crapola against TCU which if the Horned Frogs hadn’t made a bunch of stupid mistakes could have beaten the Razorbacks by 30+ instead of 21!
Texas A&M New Mexico State At South Carolina At Alabama Auburn At Ole Miss Coastal Carolina At LSU Mississippi State Missouri
Arkansas has plenty of talent to win at least 8 games in 2017 but how many games will the Razorbacks win….our guess….
6
…and would a 6 – 6 record keep Bret Bielema employed for another season at Arkansas?
Consider this for a moment….
When Houston Nutt was fired at Arkansas in 2007 his records coaching the Razorbacks in 10 seasons were…
Overall: 75 – 48
SEC: 42 – 38
…and Bret Bielema’s records now stand at…
Overall: 26 – 27
SEC: 10 – 22
You do the Damn math Arkansas fans and please if you can come up with a legitimate reason why Bret Bielema has a $15.4 million dollar buyout please let us know because we cannot think of one Damn reason he has such a contract at Arkansas….not counting of course that Jeff Long is a…
Damn Moron
…which is actually the only Damn thing that makes any Damn sense!
We have some news for Jeff Long…if Arkansas loses to Texas A&M on Saturday in Dallas….your ass may just get fired before your ass gets back to Fayetteville Son!
8. Rich Rodriguez, Arizona – There just is no Damn good excuse for Arizona losing to Houston at home in Tucson in Rich Rodriguez’s 6 th season coaching the Wildcats and now in Arizona’s last 20 games Rodriguez’s football team has posted a record of…
6 – 14
….and RichRod’s records at Arizona now stand at:
Overall: 37 – 30
Pac-12: 18 – 26
At Arizona Rich Rodriguez or any other head football coach can get away with winning 7-plus games a year and going to a bowl game each season BUT he cannot get away with posting losing records, and another losing record in 2017, in our humble opinion, RichRod will be fired at season’s end and now at 1 – 1 here is what the Wildcats have left….
At UTEP Utah At Colorado UCLA At Cal Washington State At USC Oregon State At Oregon At Arizona State
We see no reason at all that Rich Rodriguez should not be able to lead Arizona to at least 6 wins in 2017 which would mean winning 5 of the remaining 10 games which is a small hurdle to get across in our opinion when you are in your 6 th season on the job and more than likely 6 wins is all RichRod needs to be back in 2018.
9. Scottie Montgomery, East Carolina – A Fundamental Rule of Firing and Hiring is that if you going to Fire someone make Damn sure you have or will Hire someone better than the person you Fired and in our opinion when Ruffin McNeil was fired after 6 seasons as the head coach at East Carolina posting records of…
Overall: 42 – 34
Conference: 30 – 18
…which was a very dubious move by the ECU AD in our opinion it just made no Damn sense that East Carolina hired Scottie Montgomery in his place who in 2 seasons has posted records of…
Overall: 3 – 11
Conference: 1 – 7
East Carolina is now 0 – 2 on the season after losses to James Madison and West Virginia and still has to play games against…
Virginia Tech South Florida Temple At UCF BYU At Houston At UConn Tulane Cincinnati At Memphis
Will East Carolina win a game in 2017?
ECU will maybe win 1….Possibly 2 games in 2017 and if East Carolina only wins 2 games in 2017 then we fully expect that Scottie Montgomery will be held to the same standard as Ruffin McNeil and will be fired in late November….unless of course Montgomery is being held to a lower standard of some kind by the folks at ECU!
10. David Beaty, Kansas – We here at Coaches Hot Seat couldn’t help but laugh when we saw this news story earlier this year about Kansas head coach David Beaty…
Of course the above article is based up Dennis Dodd’s Hot Seat Ratings and maybe Dennis who doesn’t live to far from KU also embraces…
Socialism + Communism
…because if David Beaty’s job is safe at Kansas with records in 3 years on the job of…
Overall: 3 – 23
Big 12: 1 – 17
….then we have to wonder where exactly the folks at the University of Kansas were raised because…
It could NOT have been in America NOR by Real Americans!
You see…if you are raised in America by Real Americans you don’t accept Losing and you expect Excellence but then the same Damn Moron AD at Kansas that hired David Beaty hired Charlie Weis so then we are not so much dealing with…
Non-Real Americans
…at Kansas as just….
Total Damn Morons!
Now at 1 – 1 on the season after a win over SE Missouri State and a loss to Central Michigan at home here is what Kansas has left in 2017:
At Ohio West Virginia Texas Tech At Iowa State At TCU Kansas State Baylor At Texas Oklahoma At Oklahoma State
Got 1 and Freaking 11 Cold Seat David Beaty?
Well….Kansas might beat able to beat Baylor which has a team that looks like it has flat-out quit on Matt Rhule already so maybe you can get to 2 – 10 Cold Seat Beaty and if you get to 2 – 10 no doubt the followers of…
Lenin, Stalin and Marx
…in Lawrenceville, Kansas will be proud and might even given you another contract extension!
Oh to be working for Dumb and Stupid Communists….
What else could an American ask for…it’s like Lifetime Employment even if you are Sorry As Hell at your job! Lenin and Staling would be so proud of the University of Kansas!
It’s early in the college football season being only Week 2 but there are 10 CFB Head Coaches facing MUST WIN Games and with that in mind we ask the Eagles and Randy Meisner to motivate these Coaches + Teams To Take It To the Limit to get a win in these games. Bring It Randy Meisner!
Thank You Randy!
Brian Kelly, Notre Dame vs. Georgia– In Brian Kelly’s last 15 games as the head coach at Notre Dame he has posted a record of….
5 – 10
….and after an opening with win over Temple the very last Damn thing Brian Kelly needs is a 2 nd year coach in Kirby Smart to bring a Georgia team into South Bend and beat the Irish. Looking at the rest of Notre Dame’s schedule after the Dawgs we only see one maybe “Sure Win” in Miami (OH) at home September 30, and with Kelly needing 10+ wins to be back as the head coach of the Irish in 2018 a loss to Georgia in this spot would nothing short of a Complete Freaking Disaster!
No…the Irish faithful will not be happy if Georgia beats Notre Dame on Saturday!
Bret Bielema, Arkansas vs. TCU– Bret Bielema’s overall coaching win/loss numbers at Arkansas are shocking enough at…
Overall: 26 – 26
SEC: 10 – 22
…but consider the following number for Bielema in his 5 years at Arkansas….his win/loss record against FBS teams:
14 – 25
Damn! Bret Bielema who is making around $4.5 million dollars a year and if fired at the end of this season has a buyout in the $10M+ range has a record against FBS teams of…Yes….look at that number again Razorback fans even if you don’t want to….
14 – 25
….which is a winning percentage of…
.359
Double Damn!
Do you think this Saturday’s game against TCU is big for Bret Bielema with 8 SEC Conference games still left on the 2017 schedule?
You better Damn believe it is because if Bielema loses this game at home to TCU there will be no funny story that can be told to explain a record against FBS teams of….
14 – 26 = .350
….which as one can clearly see is only…
14 wins in Bielema’s first 40 games against FBS teams!
Hell, the first person you picked randomly out of the Fayetteville White Pages could have posted the Pitiful Record of coaching the Razorbacks to 14 wins against the first 40 FBS teams Arkansas played!
Rich Rodriguez, Arizona vs. Houston – Some amazing numbers that we never thought we would see associated with Rich Rodriguez is that over the past 3 seasons at Arizona counting the first game of 2017 Rodriguez has posted a record of…
11 – 15
….overall in his last 26 games and a record of…
4 – 14
…in Pac-12 play over the past two seasons and before conference play gets going in 2017 Arizona better Damn beat Houston at home on Saturday night or this could be a mighty long season indeed with 10 games left and none of them a walk in the park kind of game:
At UTEP Utah At Colorado UCLA At Cal Washington State At USC Oregon State At Oregon At Arizona State
Expectations are never real high for Arizona Football so even 6 wins would probably keep RichRod in Arizona for another season, but less than 6 wins which would be two straight losing seasons and a Wildcat program headed in Totally the wrong Damn direction and Rich Rodriguez may find himself doing television work for the 2018 college football season back at CBS Sports in New York!
Yep…you better Damn beat Houston on Saturday night Rich!
Barry Odom, Missouri vs. South Carolina – Even with a 4 – 8 record overall and 2 – 6 record in SEC Conference play Barry Odom did a decent job coaching Missouri in his first season as a head coach in 2016, but in Year 2 the expectations are moved up a bit and we are expecting the Tigers to win at least 6 games and if Odom hopes to get his ass off the Hot Seat and beating South Carolina at home on Saturday is a MUST WIN if Mizzou is to get 6 wins with the below remaining games to be played after the Gamecocks:
Purdue Auburn At Kentucky At Georgia Idaho At UConn Florida Tennessee At Vanderbilt At Arkansas
Nope….we see no way in Hell that Missouri gets to 6 wins in 2017 without beating South Carolina on Saturday so that equals MUST WIN Game for you Barry Odom!
Tony Sanchez, UNLV vs. Idaho– After the opening game debacle loss to Howard when we didn’t even know Howard had a football team it is CRITICAL that Tony Sanchez get the shipped righted at UNLV and quickly and find a way to beat Idaho on the road which will not be an easy game to win in a very tough place to play against a fast-improving Vandals football team under head coach Paul Petrino. Tony Sanchez’s win/loss record in his 3 rd year at UNLV now stands at…
7 – 18
….and a loss to Idaho with Ohio State on deck and the MWC slate of conference games in the hole would be a very bad look indeed…very Damn bad Tony!
Jim Mora, UCLA vs. Hawaii – Jim Mora avoided what could have been a Total Meltdown of the UCLA football program in Week 1 courtesy of Kevin Sumlin and the Texas A&M coaching staff which gave away a sure-fire win to the Bruins and may have saved UCLA’s season because if the Bruins don’t beat A&M the whole Damn thing may have fell apart in Westwood which saw UCLA come into the first game of the 2017 season with a record of….
5 – 11
….in their last 16 games and with that in mind that makes this week’s Hawaii game a MUST WIN because a loss in this spot with a trip to play Memphis in Memphis on deck and then Stanford on The Farm next we are talking about what could be the end of the 2017 campaign before things really get going for the Bruins.
UCLA has two to three times as much talent as Hawaii and there really would be no good excuse for the Bruins to lose to the Warriors at the Rose Bowl and if that doesn’t equal MUST WIN Game then nothing does!
Tom Herman, Texas vs. San Jose State – The Tom Herman era at Texas tries for new start in Week 2 after the Total Disaster loss to Maryland at home in Week 1 that saw a Texas team play a football game that looked like they were hardly coached at all and this Week 2 game is against San Jose State which also has a first year head coach so this is not a game that the Longhorns can possibly lose….right? Hell…who the Hell knows!
No way Texas loses to San Jose State in Austin….BUT if Texas did lose this game then Tom Herman’s ass would be hotter than a Texas Summer day deep in the month of August!
Don’t lose this game to San Jose State Tom Herman…because if you do you will be the laughingstock of the American sports world after the Texas Athletic Department has been telling anyone that would listen for the last 8 months that you are the Second Coming of Darrell Royal and Mack Brown all rolled into one! No…don’t lose this game Son!
David Beaty, Kansas vs. Central Michigan – David Beaty is now in his 3 rd season coaching the Kansas Jayhawks football team and if Beaty is actually coaching-up KU worth a Damn there is not a chance in Hell that his football team loses to a Central Michigan team at home in Lawrence on Saturday, and we are very interested to see how this game plays out and finishes up because there are a lot of folks claiming on the plains of Kansas that the Jayhawks are improving under Beaty…well if they are then KU should easily beat at MAC team at home….right? Damn Right!
Oh…Kansas plays another MAC team in Week 3 in a game at Ohio so if Kansas can’t beat Central Michigan at home there is not a chance in Hell that KU beats Ohio on the road and if KU can’t beat Ohio on the road there is not a chance in Hell they win a Big 12 Conference game in 2017 and we all know where this is going because if KU doesn’t win a Big 12 Conference game in 2017 David Beaty and a few other folks are going to get their asses run out of Lawrence, Kansas come December!
Mark Dantonio, Michigan State vs. Western Michigan– Things for Mark Dantonio and Michigan State have been going straight downhill since Spartans QB Connor Cook through an interception just before the half of the 2015 CFB Playoff Semi-Final Game against Alabama when Michigan State was trailing Bama by a score of only 10 – 0 and driving for a TD that could have made the score 10 – 7 at half and since that incredibly foolish interception by Cook the Spartans have posted a record of….
4 – 10
….and Mark Dantonio is one loss at home to Western Michigan at home to finding his ass squarely on the Hot Seat with Notre Dame at home on deck and the entire 2017 Big Ten schedule still to be played.
Check-Out Michigan State’s remaining schedule after playing Western Michigan on Saturday:
Notre Dame Iowa At Michigan At Minnesota Indiana At Northwestern Penn State At Ohio State Maryland At Rutgers
Geez….Yep…Western Michigan is a MUST WIN Game if Michigan State is interested in getting to at least 6 wins in 2017 and a loss in this spot could see the Spartans spiral down again like they did last season which from that Connor Cook interception against Alabama forward would be one of the fastest falls of a major program in college football history!
Come on Coach Dantonio!
Mark Whipple, UMass vs. Old Dominion – If UMass can play Hawaii tough at home in Week Zero we see no reason at all that UMass can’t beat Old Dominion at home in Week 2 and this is MUST WIN Game for head coach Mark Whipple and UMass with road games at Temple and Tennessee in Weeks 3 and 4!
Coaches Hot Seat was first dreamed up in October 2006 as a way to help force out then Stanford head football coach Walt Harris among a group of close friends who were having drinks at the Balboa Café in the Marina District of San Francisco, and here we are in September 2017 with Coaches Hot Seat now entering its 11 th college football season…a second decade now begins…with that same group of close friends tossing out their opinions from the peanut gallery about the relative status of college football head coaches job status vis-à-vis the warmth of their asses!
Coaches Hot Seat has been great fun from the start and has grown from a few close friends to over 170 members of Coaches Hot Seat now that mainly are members it seems to attend the annual Coaches Hot Seat Summer Clambake at Lake Tahoe each August where we have one Helluva great time talking football and the upcoming college football season and CHS members also help to shape the Coaches Hot Seat Rankings each week.
With that in mind let’s get to the business at hand which is the….
…which means let’s bring out the Great Johnny Cash to give the coaches on the Hot Seat a wake-up call!
Thank You Mr. Cash and away we go on the 11 th season of Coaches Hot Seat
1. Kevin Sumlin, Texas A&M – If you thought watching the Total Meltdown of Kevin Sumlin and the Texas A&M coaching staff in the Rose Bowl on Sunday night was nothing short of a Total Disaster then watching a replay of the game only makes things worse because one could take a look at each play and see mistake….after mistake….after mistake…after mistake by Sumlin and the Aggies Coaches that flat-out….
Robbed the A&M players of what should have been a win over UCLA!
It’s easy to look at the second-half of the A&M – UCLA game and point to many Beyond Stupid mistakes made by Kevin Sumlin and the A&M coaching staff, but the Idiocy actually began in the first quarter with the Aggies up 7 – 3 and the Bruins fumbling the ball and an A&M player returning it to the 3 yard line which was followed by A&M OC Noel Mazzone calling the following plays:
Fade to Left-Side of the End Zone Fade to Right-Side of the End Zone 2 Yard Run to 1 Yard Line
Followed by a field goal putting the Aggies up 10 – 3 over UCLA.
Why didn’t Aggies OC Noel Mazzone just run the Damn ball right down the Bruins throat from the 3 yard line you ask when A&M was gashing the Bruins for over 7 yards a carry in the game?
Damn Good Question but this is just the beginning of the Damn Idiocy that was capped off in the second-half by what we hear at Coaches Hot Seat believe to be…
A Series of the Stupidest Coaching Decisions in the History of College Football in America
…which at Texas A&M dates back to 1894!
By now everyone that follows college football closely must know that Texas A&M went up by the score of….
Aggies – 44 Bruins – 10
…after a field goal with 4:08 left in the 3 rd quarter of the game. At this point there should have been NO CHANCE IN HELL of UCLA winning this football game unless Kevin Sumlin and the A&M coaches committed a series of blunders that would make the Stupidest Human Beings on the Earth look like Mensa members and guess what….that is exactly what happened!
Following the Aggies field goal to pt them up 44 – 10 over UCLA the Bruins then scored in 2 minutes to make the score 44 – 17 with 2:06 left in the 3 rd Quarter and this is what Kevin Sumlin and his offensive coaches did the rest of the game leading to one of the great meltdowns in college football history:
Aggies Remaining Offensive Plays in the Game after up 44 – 17:
1. Run for no gain 2. Run for 6 yards 3. Incomplete Pass 4. Punt
UCLA Touchdown and score is A&M 44 – UCLA 24
5. Run for 1 yard 6. Incomplete Pas 7. Run for 14 yards 8. Run for 3 yards 9. Run for 8 yards 10. Complete Pass 11. Sack loss of 10 yards 12. Run for 1 yard 13. Punt
UCLA Touchdown and score is A&M 44 – UCLA 31
14. Pass Complete 15. Run for 6 yards 16. Incomplete Pass 17. Run for 12 yards 18. Run for 7 yards 19. Run for loss 1 yard
With ball on 16 yard line and a made field goal making the score 47 – 31 or a two TD and two 2-point conversion game Aggies OC Noel Mazzone calls a pass play and….
20. Sack for loss of 9 yards
…which leads to a 43 yard field goal miss by the Aggies kicker instead of what should have been at most a 32 yard field goal if not shorter if Noel Mazzone had just RUN THE DAMN BALL on third down!
UCLA Touchdown and score is A&M 44 – UCLA 38
21. Run for 2 yards 22. Incomplete Pass 23. Sack for loss of 5 yards 24. Punt
UCLA Touchdown and score is A&M 44 – UCLA 45
The four plays in the last A&M series when the Aggies failed to get a first down are not that important because it was desperation time, but look the other plays above and see the Total Damn Idiocy especially when one realizes that at halftime A&M was averaging over….
6 Yards-Plus Per Run
….and in the second-half when the Aggies could have Stuff the Ball down the Bruins throats with their run game they not only called way Damn too many pass plays they also at the most critical time of the game when a made field goal would have at worst gotten the Aggies into overtime against UCLA a pass play was called with a true freshman QB on the field who not surprisingly took a big loss on a sack which led to a critical missed field goal and in our opinion….
This was level of Stupid Coaching that has not been seen in FBS Football since Charlie Weis was the head coach at Notre Dame!
In our opinion here at Coaches Hot Seat Kevin Sumlin did nothing less than GUT his own players by allowing his coaches to make one Stupid Damn Decision after another and for that he should have already been fired and the Aggies could have hired ANY high school coach on ANY level from ANYWHERE in the State of Texas and be the Aggies players would be getting better coaching today!
Let’s look at Kevin Sumlin’s records in six seasons at Texas A&M:
Overall: 44 – 22
SEC: 21 – 19
Against FBS Teams: 26 – 22
Against Group of 6 Teams: 12 – 0
Against FCS Teams: 6 – 0
Yep…take away the 18 Cupcakes that Keivn Sumlin has played and beat at A&M and we are talking about winning percentages of…
SEC: .525
Against FBS Teams: .542
…and for the above Very Average Records Kevin Sumlin has already been paid north of….
$25 Million Dollars
….and Texas A&M still owes Sumlin over $11 Million Dollars if they fired him today!
$35+ Million Dollars for a .542 record against FBS teams and .525 record in SEC play?
What kind of Damn Idiots are running Texas A&M University exactly?
Let’s not forget something else in this spot….
Last November at Kyle Field in College Station A&M led Ole Miss by 15 points entering the 4 th quarter before losing 29 – 28 and more to the point in Texas A&M last SIX games against FBS teams Kevin Sumlin’s record is…
0 – 6!
That’s right…Texas A&M has not beaten an FBS team since last October 8 when the Aggies beat Tennessee in double-overtime in College Station!
Luckily for Kevin Sumlin he is working at place….
Texas A&M University
…that embraces and celebrates AVERAGE and thus he can get away with winning percentages like…
.542 and .525
….and A&M has Nicholls and La. Lafayette to play at home in their next two games before playing Arkansas in Dallas on September 23 but then from Arkansas on it’s….
Arkansas (Dallas) South Carolina Alabama At Florida Mississippi State Auburn New Mexico At Ole Miss At LSU
…which to us looks like 7 or 8 wins for the Aggies in 2017 and based upon what the folks running Texas A&M have been willing to accept in the past maybe they will continue to accept…
Average
…now tied to the Complete Damn Stupidity of the UCLA game and the beat in College Station will go on for another year!
Be Proud Aggies…YOU are Average As Hell!
2. Todd Graham, Arizona State – In the last two seasons at Arizona State Todd Graham has posted combined records of…
Overall: 11 – 14
Pac-12: 6 – 12
….and it seems clear from the noise coming out of Tempe that it’s going to probably take 8 wins plus in 2017 for Graham to be coaching the Sun Devils in 2018 and it wasn’t exactly a rousing start to this season in beating a very weak New Mexico State team 37 – 31, and if ASU plays like that the rest of the year there’s not a chance in Hell that Graham will be the head coach come December. Now at 1 – 0 on the year here is what ASU has left to play:
San Diego State At Texas Tech Oregon At Stanford Washington At Utah USC Colorado At UCLA At Oregon State Arizona
Can Todd Graham find 7 wins+ out of the Sun Devils remaining 11 games?
We don’t see it which means a very good job in Arizona State could be opening up come late November.
3. Tony Sanchez, UNLV – The first time that anyone at Coaches Hot Seat ran into Tony Sanchez he was the head football coach at California High School in San Ramon, California which is in the East Bay of San Francisco and where Tony coached for five years before taking over and having a very successful run at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas which led to him getting the UNLV job in 2015 which has led to the following records at UNLV after the disastrous opening season loss to the Howard University football team on Saturday night:
Overall: 7 – 18
MWC: 5 – 11
Those are not so great records for Tony Sanchez and the Rebels have left play this season….
At Idaho At Ohio State San Jose State San Diego State At Air Force Utah State At Fresno State Hawaii BYU At New Mexico At Nevada
…and it’s just a guess on our part with a new AD at UNLV on the job in Desiree Reed-Francois on the job who came over from Virginia Tech Sanchez is going to need 6-plus wins in 2017 to be the head coach of the Rebels in 2018, and if Sanchez can find 6 wins out of the above 11 remaining games he should return as the head coach at UNLV and get an extension on his contract as well!
4. Mark Whipple, UMass – Since returning to coach at UMass in 2014 after an earlier stint coaching the Minutemen on the FCS level between 1998 – 2003 Mark Whipple has posted a record of…
Overall: 8 – 30
…over the last four seasons and an 0 – 2 start to 2017 with losses to Hawaii and Coastal Carolina doesn’t exactly give us confidence that Whipple will be the head coach at UMass when Santa shows up in late December!
What’s left for UMass this season:
Old Dominion – Loss At Temple – Loss At Tennessee – Loss Ohio – Loss At USF – Loss Georgia Southern – Maybe Win Appalachian State – Loss At Mississippi State – Loss Maine – Maybe Win At BYU – Loss
That’s a 2 – 10 record at best in our minds for UMass in 2017 and more than likely a new head football coach for the Minutemen in 2018….in our humble opinion.
5. Lance Leipold, Buffalo – Buffalo looked decent against Minnesota in the opening game of the season BUT in his third year on the job coaching the Bulls head coach Lance Leipold now has records of…
Overall: 7 – 18
MAC: 4 – 12
….on the board and we rather doubt that Leipold will be able to survive another losing season….but then this is Buffalo we are talking about and maybe Leipold can survive another sub .500 record and return to coach the Bulls again in 2018 which would be fine with us here at Coaches Hot Seat since we don’t have a dog in this fight or in any fight for that matter when it comes to Buffalo!
6. Tom Herman, Texas – Earlier this year a couple of Coaches Hot Seat members were down in Austin for business plus fishing with our Texas-alum buddies and over a BBQ dinner we asked how the Tom Herman-era was going and one of those UT-alums said….
“You mean the Cult of Tom Herman?”
Coaches Hot Seat: “The Cult of Tom Herman? What the Hell does that mean?”
UT Alum: “It means that everything within the Texas Athletic Department is set-up to promote Tom Herman in the public instead of the Texas Football Team.”
Coaches Hot Seat: “That’s a change from the past?”
UT Alum: “You kidding? Mack Brown and Charlie Strong put the focus on the players….Tom Herman seems interested in only one thing…Tom Herman’s Precious Ass!”
Coaches Hot Seat: “Now that’s Damn interesting.”
UT Alum: “It is and there’s no explaining it even in Texas which is full of people with big egos….but I cannot recall running into or seeing anyone operate with a bigger ego than Tom Herman who seems to believe he invented the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars!”
Coaches Hot Seat: “It will be interesting to see how that will play out during the season.”
UT Alum: “Well right now with everything focused on kissing Tom Herman’s ass I fully expect Texas to lose the opening game to Maryland!”
Memo to Tom Herman: Get Over Yourself Son or your head coaching tenure at Texas or anywhere else will be over before it really gets going. Oh…welcome to the Hot Seat Son!
Texas has PLENTY OF TALENT to win 8 games in 2017 with the below schedule remaining….
San Jose State At USC At Iowa State Kansas State Oklahoma Oklahoma State At Baylor At TCU Kansas At West Virginia Texas Tech
…and if Tom Herman expects to get his ass off the Hot Seat he better Damn win 8 games-plus this season!
7. Brian Kelly, Notre Dame – Brian Kelly and the Irish got a nice win over a decent Temple team in Week 1 and now the 2017 season actually begins with a pretty good and very talented Georgia team coming to South Bend on Saturday evening. There’s a very good reason why Brian Kelly is on the Hot Seat and that is Kelly’s record over the past 5 seasons since Alabama BLASTED the Irish in the 2012-13 BCS National Title Game and that record is…
32 – 20 .615
…while averaging 7.75 wins per season and ANYTHING below 9 wins a season as head coach of Notre Dame your ass is AVERAGE and will place your ass on the…Yep…you got it…
Hot Seat!
We asked around with a few of our Notre Dame alum friends in the last few weeks how many wins that Brian Kelly needs to return to coach the Irish in 2018 and the consensus is…
10 wins-plus
….and we don’t think there is ANY chance of all of Notre Dame winning 10 games if the Irish lose to Georgia so Coach Hard Brian Kelly against the Dawgs!
8. Chris Ash, Rutgers – Chris Ash’s Rutgers team played better against Washington they than the team played in almost any game in 2016 and now Ash will need to keep the improvement going in a HUGE and MUST WIN GAMES against Eastern Michigan at home on Saturday and then Morgan State on September 16 which would send the Scarlet Knights to Nebraska with a 2 – 1 record which would at least give Ash’s team some momentum and maybe his ass off the Hot Seat…or maybe not!
9. Jim Mora, UCLA – We are not quite sure why the Hell the UCLA Bruins didn’t show up ready to play against Texas A&M on Sunday at the Rose Bowl but a Total Collapse by the Aggies plus a Bruins team that wouldn’t quit saved Mora from having the Hottest Seat in the America after Week 1 of the season and at least Jim Mora has that going for him!
Now at 1 – 0 on the season UCLA has left to play in 2017….
Hawaii At Memphis At Stanford Colorado At Arizona Oregon At Washington At Utah Arizona State At USC California
Damn…that’s a tough schedule and with Jim Mora needing at least 6 wins in 2017 to keep his job even with a MASSIVE buyout if fired it’s not going to be easy for UCLA to get to 6 wins unless they win their next 2 games to start at 3 – 0 before they head to The Farm to play Stanford on September 23.
10. Bret Bielema, Arkansas – In 5 seasons at Arkansas Bret Bielema has the following records on the board…
Overall: 26 – 26
SEC: 10 – 22
…and that is what we would call Below Average for ANY Head Football Coach at Arkansas and we would recommend to both Bret Bielema and Arkansas AD Jeff Long that Bielema win at least 6 games in 2017 or both of them might find themselves out of a job come December which is why the next two games…
TCU Texas A&M (Dallas)
…are MUST WIN GAMES before playing Cupcake New Mexico State on September 30 and then heading into the rest of the SEC schedule with a game at South Carolina.
If Arkansas does lose to TCU and Texas A&M to be at 2 – 2 at the end of September it’s not going to be easy to find 4 more wins among these last 8 games….
At South Carolina At Alabama Auburn At Ole Miss Coastal Carolina At LSU Mississippi State Missouri
….with 6 wins total needed if Bielema wants to be employed in the State of Arkansas after December 2017!
It’s clear from Sports Illustrated columnist Pete Thamel’s latest on the meltdown of the Notre Dame football program under Brian Kelly the last few years….well, actually since Alabama destroyed the Irish in the BCS Title Game on January 7, 2013….that Brian Kelly understood he would either change course or his college head coaching career…at least in South Bend…would be over!
“To rejuvenate the Irish on the field, Kelly orchestrated a complete overhaul of his staff, program and, most significantly, himself. There’s a new offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, special teams coach and strength coach. In total, he hired 17 new staff members in the football staff. “We failed and I failed,” Kelly told Sports Illustrated in his office last week. “I think like any successful person.… They don’t say I’m a failure. I looked at what adjustments needed to be made.”
In an unusually candid interview, Kelly didn’t just fall on the sword for the Irish’s flop last season. He belly flopped on it, using some form of the word fail nine times and consistently pointing the finger back at himself. Antithetical to his red-faced and fiery sideline demeanor, Kelly underwent a thorough and deliberate overhaul of the program.”
Looking at Brian Kelly’s seven seasons at Notre Dame in reality is a story detailing what AVERAGE looks like especially when one realizes these win/loss records are at…Notre Dame!
Yes…in FIVE of his SEVEN seasons at Notre Dame Brian Kelly and his Irish have lost…
4 or more games
…with an average of…
4.42 losses per season
…and in case you just dropped onto Earth from an alien spaceship if Notre Dame hired the next guy that wandered into South Bend looking for a hot meal he would average no worse than…
4.42 losses per season!
It will be fascinating to see how Brian Kelly’s overhaul of Notre Dame after his SEVENTH season on the job will play out, but the word from our Notre Dame alum friends who we see every year at the Stanford – Irish football game tell us that…
“Kelly better turn things around in 2017 or this will be his last year in South Bend and we have…”
The most interesting thing about the end of the above sentence is that, “…and we have….” ends with the name of a current CFB head coach that would be a Helluva interesting fit at Notre Dame that would SHOCK college football if he was hired to coach the Irish.
With the above in mind and a lot of uncertainty of what Notre Dame will run out onto the field this Fall let’s look at Notre Dame’s 2017 football schedule:
Temple Georgia At Boston College At Michigan State Miami (Ohio) At North Carolina Bye Week USC NC State Wake Forest At Miami Navy At Stanford
What do we think will be Notre Dame’s win/loss record be in 2017?
7 – 5
How many wins does Brian Kelly need in 2017 to be the head coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in 2018?
At least 9 wins!
If Notre Dame did finish with a record of 7 – 5 in 2017 then in EIGHT seasons coaching the Irish Brian Kelly will have lost 36 games which would be an average of….
4.5 losses per season
….and there is not a Chance in Hell that Brian Kelly would be allowed to coach Notre Dame in 2018 with that number of average losses per season.
As for who might be the next head coach at Notre Dame if Kelly doesn’t win at least 9 games in 2017 if our Notre Dame alum friends are right…
Many of us here at Coaches Hot Seat were flying back to San Francisco from Los Angeles on Sunday after seeing Stanford come back and beat UCLA on Saturday night at the Rose Bowl and as we tweeted out on Sunday…
We were surprised but not shocked that LSU fired Les Miles
…because we believe Totally in the saying that now former Florida AD Jeremy Foley has said many times during his great career as AD in Gainesville…
“What will have to be done eventually should be done immediately.”
…and No Damn Doubt in our minds Les Miles should have been fired at the end of the 2016 season because in our opinion…
Les Miles is Incredibly Stubborn and would rather LSU Football lose football games than Miles EVER having to admit that he was wrong about ANYTHING
…and anyone with a working brain knows that Les Miles’ brand of football should be tossed on the scrapheap of college football history and anyone that is considering hiring Les Miles in the future should understand that reality Very Damn Clearly!
The Win/Loss Numbers for Les Miles over the past THREE seasons…2014 – 2016…are Very Damn Ugly Indeed when one considers that during the past THREE seasons Miles has had Top 5 talent in college football and those Win/Loss numbers are…
Overall: 19 – 10
SEC: 10 – 8
Power 5 Schools: 12 – 10
…which is nothing short of a Total and Complete Disaster when you have…
TOP FIVE TALENT in College Football at LSU
…which makes it in our opinion that LSU was 10 Months Late in firing Les Miles and in the end if might cost LSU….
Tom Herman to Texas or USC!
Let’s leave the who will be the next head coach at LSU speculation for another day and give a Hearty Congratulations for Coach Ed Orgeron who is now the…
Head Football Coach at LSU
…and who we hope can win many of the remaining games the Tigers have against…
Missouri At Florida Southern Miss Ole Miss Alabama At Arkansas South Alabama At Texas A&M
…especially since LSU has MORE talent on its roster than every team left on its schedule except for Alabama.
One thing that Coach O said that caught our attention in his press conference on Monday was that LSU was going to…
“Spend less time on the practice field and more time in the meeting rooms.”
….which is what Pete Carroll did at USC and which as former football players here at Coaches Hot Seat is something we have believed in for 30+ years now going back to the Bill Walsh days at Stanford the first-time around.
“Keep the players high. Make practice a pleasure, not a lark. Be a disciplinarian, but not a slave driver. It’s better to have a short, full practice than a long lazy one.”
Amen to that Coach Thomas….and Coach O as well!
Give ‘Em Hell Coach O…and just like at USC…we will be pulling for you Coach!
On the Ron Turner firing at FIU it was no surprise to anyone here at Coaches Hot Seat that Ron Turner was fired in his FOURTH season at FIU where he put up records of…
Overall: 10 – 30
CUSA: 7 – 17
….because as we said when Ron Turner was hired…
FIU had no Damn Business hiring Ron Turner because if you are going to fire Mario Cristobal then you better Damn hire someone better than Cristobal and Ron Turner is not in the same world as Cristobal in coaching college football in the early part of the 21 st century…..PERIOD!
FIU should hire a young, fiery, smart, tenacious, hard-charging, fighting like Hell coach and just realize if the coach does a good job at FIU he will probably be off to a bigger job and then FIU should go out and hire another….
Young, fiery, smart, tenacious, hard-charging, fighting like Hell coach!
Do that FIU….just do that!
Post Week 4 Coaches Hot Seat Rankings
These Hot Seat Coaches Need to Understand Mr. Cash That When You Make Millions of Dollars A Year…Your Ass Will Either Perform Or End Up On The Hot Seat! Give ‘Em Hell Johnny!
1. Clay Helton, USC – We spent several hours with an USC-alum friend of ours on this past Saturday night in Santa Monica after we watched Stanford come back and beat UCLA at the Rose Bowl and to say that our friend and many of his fellow USC-alum friends are PISSED-OFF about the current state of USC football would be a massive understatement!
Consider these numbers for a moment…since 2009 USC’s combined Pac-12 Conference record over the past 8 seasons now stands at…
40 – 25
…which includes USC head coaches Pete Carroll’s last year, Lane Kiffin, Ed Orgeron, Steve Sarkisian, and Clay Helton. Then consider the below numbers which is Alabama and Nick Saban’s record in SEC Conference play over the past 8 seasons…
48 – 8
Why do we mention Nick Saban and Alabama’s record in SEC Conference play over the past 8 seasons you ask?
Because an USC-alum that could buy and sell most of the Westside of Los Angeles on any given afternoon has it written on a dry erase board in his home office and those two numbers….USC and Alabama’s conference records since 2009….was written on that dry erase board by someone who is fed-up with what is going on with USC football, and who is now going around Los Angeles briefing other USC alums about just what in the Hell is going to happen at USC if Clay Helton doesn’t get things turned around with the Trojans…and in a Helluva hurry!
Here are the important win/loss records at USC for Clay Helton as this moment:
Overall: 7 – 7
Pac-12: 5 – 3
The word we got from our USC-alum friend on Saturday night….
Clay Helton either wins 7 games in 2016…meaning USC will need to win 6 of its last 8 games this season…or the Clay Helton era at USC will be over shortly after the Notre Dame game on November 26.
Oh..Clay Helton better Damn beat UCLA and Notre Dame in getting those 7 wins!
Our opinion after talking to our USC-alum friend on Saturday night for a few hours:
Clay Helton better win 7-plus games or there is going to be a MEGA OFFER by USC to hire Tom Herman in 6 or so weeks that will make Herman the highest-paid coach in college football and with that in mind we would recommend that Helton’s Trojans beat Arizona State on Saturday night at the LA Coliseum!
2. Steve Addazio, Boston College – Steve Addazio’s Boston College team beat Total Damn Cupcake Wagner on Saturday which raised the Eagles overall record in 2016 to…
2 – 2
….which leaves Addazio’s win/loss records in four seasons at…
Overall: 19 – 23
ACC: 8 – 18
…and on Saturday BC plays host to Buffalo in a game that we would recommend Steve Addazio NOT lose because if the Eagles did lose to a Buffalo team at home then Addazio might not be the BC coach by Noon on Sunday!
It’s all very simple for Steve Addazio in 2016 IF Boston College can beat Buffalo on Saturday:
Win at least 6 games and Addazio will get another season at BC.
Don’t win at least 6 games and the Boston College job will open up in late November…if not sooner!
3. Charlie Strong, Texas – Our Texas-alum friends are NOT Stupid and after Texas got beat by what many of us think is just an average California team coupled with Notre Dame’s defense being more porous than a 3-year old sponge Charlie Strong is now in a very dangerous spot where Charlie will either win several critical games coming up or he might be out of a job before the 2016 season is half over.
The numbers or Charlie Strong at Texas are very mediocre…
Overall: 13 – 15
Big 12: 9 – 9
…and even though we think the world of Charlie and are hoping he can turn Texas back into a college football power the TRUTH is that Notre Dame’s Total Damn Collapse has turned up the heat on Strong who is facing TWO CRITICAL games in the next TWO weeks…
At Oklahoma State Oklahoma
….that with TWO losses could very well lead to Charlie Strong being shown the door before the Longhorns play Iowa State on October 15.
Oh Yes…Charlie Strong is in a very precarious situation and from what we have been told…
“Anything less than 8 wins in 2016 and Charlie is done….PERIOD!”
….because the Texas boys with very deep pockets are not going to be left on the outside looking in on the Tom Herman sweepstakes and if a change in the head coaching job at Texas has to be made and USC is offering Tom Herman…
$8 Million A Year
…the Texas Boys will go with…
$9 Million A Year!
Our recommendation to Charlie Strong:
Beat Oklahoma State on Saturday Charlie and for God’s Sake…start playing some Damn Defense!
4. Tim DeRuyter, Fresno State – The numbers since Fresno State won the Mountain West Conference title for the second straight time in 2013 are very ugly indeed for Tim DeRuyter and his Bulldogs….since 2013 Fresno State’s records at…
Overall: 10 – 18
MWC: 7 – 13
…and a home loss to Tulsa in two overtimes on Saturday just made things that much worse and now it’s either…
Start Winning Some Football Games
…for Tim DeRuyter or there will be a new head football coach for Fresno State come sometime in December.
How many games does Tim DeRuyter need to win in 2016 to keep his job?
At least 6 games total Tim…at least 6 games.
Now at 1 – 3 on the season and these games still left to be played…
At UNLV At Nevada San Diego State At Utah State Air Force At Colorado State Hawaii San Jose State
….can the Bulldogs win 5 of their last 8 games?
If they can’t then Tim DeRuyter NEEDS to be fired!
5. Paul Haynes, Kent State – With the Alabama whipping of Kent State on Saturday Paul Haynes record coaching the Golden Flashes over the last FOUR seasons now stands at…
Overall: 10 – 29
MAC: 6 – 17
…and with KSU now at 1 – 3 on the 2016 season either Haynes will get his team to 6 wins in 2016 or Kent State will be looking for a new head coach come December.
Next up for Paul Haynes and Kent State…
Akron and head coach Terry Bowden at home on Saturday!
Good Luck with that Paul!
6. Gus Malzahn, Auburn – We especially wanted to talk to some our Auburn friends after the Tigers close win over LSU on Saturday to get their opinions on the future of Gus Malzahn and it took until Tuesday afternoon to reach all of them and the general consensus among the Auburn alums we talked to is this…
Gus Malzahn will more than likely be back to coach at Auburn in 2017 IF the Tigers at least SEVEN games in 2016 and with that in mind and Auburn now sitting on a 2 – 2 record this season here is what AU have left to play:
La. Monroe At Mississippi State Arkansas At Ole Miss Vanderbilt At Georgia Alabama A&M At Alabama
So Gus Malzahn has to win FIVE of his last EIGHT games to return as the Auburn coach in 2017 and he has…
TWO Total Damn Cupcakes in La. Monroe and Alabama A&M
….so Malzahn has to win THREE of SIX games against…
At Mississippi State Arkansas At Ole Miss Vanderbilt At Georgia At Alabama
Our opinion…if Gus Malzahn can’t win THREE of the above SIX games then he should be fired shortly after the Alabama game on November 26 because EVEN IF Malzahn finished at…
7 – 5
…in 2016 his win/loss records over the last THREE seasons…2014 – 2016….would stand at:
Overall: 22 – 16
SEC: 10 – 14
….and a coach at Auburn cannot possibly survive posting a record in SEC Conference play over three years of…
10 – 14
….right?
Hell…maybe the folks around and support Auburn Football are now willing to accept…
Average As Hell
….but then at Auburn a 10 – 14 SEC Conference record over three years isn’t even…
Average As Hell
….it’s MUCH WORSE!
Oh…if La. Monroe happened to beat Auburn on Saturday which is coached by Matt Viator who is a pretty Damn good football coach then we recommend the Alabama media pay close attention because we rather doubt that Gus Malzahn will be the head coach at Auburn by Noon on Sunday!
7. Will Muschamp, South Carolina – Some…make that Many…will say that it’s crazy to have Will Muschamp on the Hot Seat in his first year at South Carolina BUT we have a couple of close friends that are South Carolina alumni who have plenty of friends who were…
None Too Happy About Will Muschamp’s Hiring at USC
…and who are more than willing to throw their weight around if the 2016 season should turn into a…
Total and Complete Disaster for Muschamp at USC
….and if you can’t beat Kentucky….the 2016 season has the potential to turn into a…
Total and Complete Disaster for Muschamp at USC!
Now at 2 – 2 on the season Will Muschamp and South Carolina still have 8 games left against…
Texas A&M Georgia UMass Tennessee Missouri At Florida Western Carolina At Clemson
…and we would recommend…and we are pulling for Will Muschamp….to win at least…
THREE of the last EIGHT games
…because if for some reason South Carolina finishes the 2016 season with wins only over…
Vanderbilt East Carolina UMass Western Carolina
….we could recommend folks keep their eyes on Columbia come late November…just saying!
8. Brian Kelly, Notre Dame – One thing we tell our young employees is…
When you get into a position of power don’t be an Arrogant Ass
….because when you fail…and EVERYONE will fail at some time in their life….the people that sign your paychecks….
The Alumni, Boosters, and Fans of Notre Dame Football for Brian Kelly
….will be more likely to…
Kick Your Arrogant Ass to the Curb
…and that is what Brian Kelly is now facing if the 2016 season should turn into a Total and Complete Disaster after losses to Texas, Michigan State, and Duke to open the 2016 season.
Now at 1 – 3 the Non-Fighting Irish still have games against….
Syracuse At NC State Stanford Miami Navy Army Virginia Tech At USC
….and it’s just a humble guess by the folks here at Coaches Hot Seat but we are thinking Notre Dame will win…
4….maybe 5…games in 2016
….and if Notre Dame wins 4…maybe 5…games in 2016…
Notre Dame will be looking for a new head football coach shortly after the USC game on November 26…
COUNT ON IT!
9. Darrell Hazell, Purdue – Darrell Hazell and his Purdue football team got a nice win at home over Nevada on Saturday which leaves Hazell’s records in FOUR seasons at the school at…
Overall: 8 – 31
Big Ten: 2 – 22
….and we have it on what we call Very Damn Good Authority that if Hazell wins less than 6 games in 2016 Purdue will be looking for a new head football coach shortly after the Indiana game on September 26!
Up next for Darrell Hazell and Purdue….at Maryland which has a first year coach in his first head coaching job which is a game that Purdue and Hazell SHOULD win but will they…
Not Bloody Likely!
10. Mark Stoops, Kentucky – We don’t know a whole lot of people around the University of Kentucky since we don’t follow college basketball like we do college football BUT we did reach what will call a “person of interest” in the Lexington area who told us on Monday of this week that…
“If Mark Stoops wins five games in 2016….Hell, maybe four games in 2016 he will be back to coach Kentucky next season.”
Geez…in your FOURTH year on the job at Kentucky you can win FOUR games and keep your job?
Well…this is Kentucky Football we are talking about here BUT with Kentucky now at 2 – 2 on the season and these games still to be played…
At Alabama Vanderbilt Mississippi State At Missouri Georgia At Tennessee Austin Peay At Louisville
…can Mark Stoops and the Wildcats win just TWO of their last EIGHT games to save Mark Stoops job?
Now that is just Damn Silly that you can KEEP your job by winning TWO of your last EIGHT games but then can UK and Stoops even do that?
Maybe….Just Damn Maybe!
If Mark Stoops does win only 3 games in 2016…
Kentucky will be looking for a new head football coach shortly after Bobby Petrino and Louisville BEATS the Living Hell out of the Wildcats on November 26!
As we have written many times in the Coaches Hot Seat Blog over the years the first time that a few of us ran into Charlie Strong was sometime in the early 1990s on or near the practice fields at the University of Florida when Charlie was on Steve Spurrier’s staff in Gainesville.
The one thing that immediately stood out about Charlie Strong 25 years ago as it does today is that Charlie looks you straight in the eye and you know exactly where Charlie stands on whatever he is talking about and it’s that very simple approach that led to Strong turning around the Louisville football program winning….
23 football games
…in his last two years coaching the Cardinals, and no doubt it’s that straight ahead approach that we still believe will lead to Strong turning things around at Texas.
We have been lucky enough to have 20-plus year friends who live in the Austin, Texas area and are UT alums who have given us a tremendous amount of insight into the Texas football program over the years, and who most importantly told us early on that Longhorns football was going off the rails in the 2010 season after Texas lost the 2009-10 Bogus BCS National Title Game to Alabama when they personally saw an unfocused Texas coaching staff which was the beginning of the end of Mack Brown’s legendary run at UT.
Those same UT alums now tell us that Charlie Strong has some room to run with the Texas football program after posting records of…
6 – 7 and 5 – 7
….in his first two seasons on the job, but that progress must be shown in 2016 and when we asked our UT alum friends just what in the Hell…
“Progress must be shown”
….means for Charlie Strong in 2016 their response goes something like this:
“A Winning Record Overall and in Big 12 Play.”
When hearing the above we naturally asked….
“What if Texas puts up losing overall and Big 12 conference records again 2016 like they did in 2015?”
Notre Dame UTEP At California At Oklahoma State Oklahoma Iowa State At Kansas State Baylor At Texas Tech West Virginia At Kansas TCU
Well….Bozo the Clown could win….
2 Games Coaching the Longhorns in 2016
….but how many wins should Charlie Strong post in his THIRD season on the job in Austin?
Notre Dame – Toss-Up UTEP – WIN At California – Toss-Up At Oklahoma State – Toss-Up Oklahoma – Toss-Up Iowa State – Toss-Up At Kansas State – Toss-Up Baylor – Toss-Up At Texas Tech – Toss-Up West Virginia – Toss-Up At Kansas – WIN TCU – Toss-Up
Geez…with only TWO “Sure Wins” and TEN Toss-Up Games 2016 could really go in any direction but let’s assume that Texas can win FOUR of its SIX home games which is a number that the Longhorns should hit then that means Charlie Strong will have to find a way to win THREE other games out of these SIX…
At California At Oklahoma State Oklahoma – in Dallas, Texas At Kansas State At Texas Tech At Kansas
Texas winning FOUR of its SIX home games and then going 3 – 3 in its games away from Austin is something that Charlie Strong SHOULD be able to do this season which would be a record of…
7 – 5 Overall
AND
5 – 4 in Big 12 play
…and thus there is Charlie Strong’s GOALS for 2016 if he wants to be coaching the Texas Longhorns in 2017 which we are quite confident Charlie is interested in doing with the Florida job not coming open anytime soon and with that in mind we can only say…
Good Luck to you Charlie Strong and beat those Sorry Damn Irish in that opening game on Sunday, September 4 in Austin!
OK…let’s get to the Post Week 2 – 10 – 20 Hot Seat Coaches which means bringing in again the Late Great Johnny Cash!
11. Willie Taggart, South Florida – South Florida looked OK at times against Florida State on Saturday BUT the Seminoles didn’t look very motivated in that game in the first half which means it’s hard to judge USF’s effort in Tallahassee BUT that will not be the case this coming Saturday when South Florida plays a very beatable team in Maryland in College Park, MD with the Terps coming off an upset loss to Bowling Green.
With an overall record of…
7 – 19
….on the board in his third season at South Florida Willie Taggart needs some wins and as we look at the rest of USF’s schedule….
At Maryland Memphis Syracuse At UConn SMU At Navy At East Carolina Temple Cincinnati At UCF
…we see NO Damn reason why USF does not win at least 5 of their last 6 games and get bowl eligible in 2015!
We are sick of seeing you on the Hot Seat Willie Taggart so get off your ass and get your team ready to play and beat Maryland Willie!
12. Todd Monken, Southern Miss – Todd Monken and his Southern Miss team got their CUPCAKE win over Austin Peay on Saturday by a score of 52 – 6 and now comes a HUGE football game for the future of Monken in Hattiesburg as the Golden Eagles travel on the road to play Texas State which is a game that USM should win based upon the history of both of these football programs. With a game at Nebraska lined-up for Week 4 a win against Texas State is a MUST for Todd Monken and Southern Miss in Week 3 and a loss in this spot will just mean….
The Heat will just get HOTTER for Todd Monken!
13. Al Golden, Miami – Al Golden and his Miami Hurricanes got the win they had to have over Florida Atlantic last Friday night and now the REAL football season and a very tough schedule begins for the Canes in a run of games that will determine Al Golden’s future in South Florida.
Check-out Miami’s remaining schedule with the Canes now sitting at 2 – 0:
Nebraska At Cincinnati At Florida State Virginia Tech Clemson At Duke Virginia At North Carolina Georgia Tech At Pitt
Our contacts in South Florida who admittedly aren’t exactly tied into the Miami football program since they live in West Palm Beach and Jupiter, Florida and play professional golf for a living tell us that anything less than…
9 Wins in 2015
…and Al Golden is DONE at Miami which means Al Golden needs his Miami team to win 7 of their last 10 games and since this is Miami we are talking about here IF Al Golden can’t get that 9 wins he should be DONE in Coral Gables!
14. Trent Miles, Georgia State – In a match-up of two of the worst teams in FBS college football a hearty Congratulations are in order to Trent Miles on the Georgia State football team with a win over a Pitiful New Mexico State team on Saturday! Here’s the BAD news for Trent Miles and Georgia State…..their next game is…
At Oregon!
This is Trent Miles third season at Georgia State and we are looking for a “jump” of some kind over the ONE game that GSU won in Miles first two seasons at GSU and with these games remaining to be played…..
At Oregon Liberty Appalachian State At Ball State2 At Arkansas State La – Lafayette At Texas State South Alabama Troy At Georgia Southern
…we see No Damn Reason at all why Georgia State doesn’t win FOUR-plus games in 2015 and with that we can only say to Trent Miles…
Good Luck against the Ducks!
15. Charlie Strong, Texas – Charlie Strong’s Texas Longhorns beat Rice on Saturday by a score of…
42 – 28
….which in most of the last glorious 100-plus years of Texas football would have meant about as much as a tumble weed blowing through the west Texas plains and now we get back to football for the Horns with a decent Cal team traveling to Austin in what is clearly…
The Biggest Game of Charlie Strong’s Coaching Career!
IF Texas does lose to Cal on Saturday and drops to 1 – 2 in non-conference play with the Big 12 Conference schedule beginning a week later with a game against Oklahoma State there is a very good chance that Texas does NOT get to 6 wins in 2015 and if that happens then about ANYTHING could happen in Austin come December including Charlie Strong being written a BIG check to go find something else to do with his life on this Earth.
On a somewhat related subject Scout.com’s Chip Brown is continuing to do some great reporting on the Complete Freaking Disaster that has been Texas athletic director Steve Patterson’s tenure in Austin….
As for who should be the next AD at Texas we know someone who would be a GREAT and Helluva AD for Texas especially in the Disaster that Steve Patterson has created in Austin and although we are hesitant to nominate this sitting AD for the Texas job because we don’t want to hurt his chances BUT if we were running the University of Texas we would be hiring as new Texas AD….
Arizona AD Greg Byrne
Memo to Univ. of Texas President Gregory Fenves: Fire Steve Patterson’s Sorry Ass already and hire Greg Byrne already to lead the Texas athletic department!
16. Ron Caragher, San Jose State – With a loss to Air Force in Colorado Springs on Saturday Ron Caragher’s San Jose State team dropped to 1 – 1 on the year and Caragher’s win/loss records at SJSU in three years at the school now stand at:
Overall: 10 – 16
MWC: 7 – 10
Sorry…the above win/loss records are NOT going to get the job done even at San Jose State and from what we have heard from the San Jose area Ron Caragher needs 6 wins in 2015 to return as the head coach of the Spartans in 2016 and with this schedule remaining…
At Oregon State Fresno State At Auburn At UNLV San Diego State New Mexico BYU At Nevada At Hawaii Boise State
….we see No Damn Reason at all why San Jose State shouldn’t be able to win….
5 of their last 10 games
…and with that in mind get to work Ron Caragher!
17. Norm Chow, Hawaii – No one thought that Hawaii had any chance to beat Ohio State in Columbus BUT we did expect the Warriors to at least put a few points up on the board instead of a big fat ZERO and now returning home Norm Chow needs to regroup his team and make sure they get win over FCS team UC Davis this coming Saturday.
With NO winning seasons in his first three years on the job at Hawaii Norm Chow REALLY needs to lead the Warriors to a bowl game in 2015 and that means Chow needs to find 6 more wins out of their remaining 11 games:
UC Davis At Wisconsin At Boise State San Diego State At New Mexico At Nevada Air Force At UNLV Fresno State San Jose State La. Monroe
Hell, if Norm Chow and Hawaii can’t win 6 of their last 11 games then why in the Hell would Norm Chow remain the head coach at Hawaii?
There is no good answer to the above question!
18. George O’Leary, UCF – Several Coaches Hot Seat members got to see UCF play Stanford in person on Saturday night on The Farm and their impression of UCF was….
UCF is mediocre at best and hardly even coached at worst!
Oh, but the above makes Perfect Damn Sense with UCF head coach George O’Leary worrying about coming the permanent AD at UCF instead of coaching his football team and No Damn Surprise UCF has started the 2015 season off at…
0 – 2
….with losses to FIU and Stanford and now UCF gets a CUPCAKE game against Furman before playing in a…
Hot Seat Coach vs. Hot Seat Coach
….match-up in Columbia, South Carolina with O’Leary facing off against the increasingly embattled Old Ball Coach…YEP Old Ball Coach….Steve Spurrier!
Who loses when UCF plays South Carolina in two weeks or so?
The poor folks who are the stadium is who loses when UCF plays South Carolina on September 26 in Columbia!
19. Steve Spurrier, South Carolina – South Carolina looked very Damn average against North Carolina in Week 1 and in Week 2 the Gamecocks looked totally out-of-sorts at times against Kentucky and even worse Steve Spurrier…
Looked Old
….which brings to mind The Byrds song from when Steve Spurrier was still a student and football player at the University of Florida…
Turn, Turn, Turn
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, a time to reap that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; A time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”
Readers of the Bible…not Donald Trump for Damn sure…will recognize the lyrics of Turn, Turn, Turn which are almost verbatim from the Book of Ecclesiastes verse 3 1 – 8 and the TRUTH is barring a major miracle Steve Spurrier’s legendary coaching career is OVER and that TRUTH could be displayed for everyone to see with South Carolina traveling to Athens on Saturday to play the Georgia Bulldogs.
No doubt Mark Richt will not run-up the score on the Old Ball Coach if things get out-of-hand in Athens on Saturday night and for Damn sure Steve Spurrier will know full-well or not if Mark Richt is taking it easy against his old foe and that reality will kill the Old Ball Coach worse than anything else in the world!
20. Brian Kelly, Notre Dame – Even before starting Notre Dame quarterback Malik Zaire got hurt the Hapless Virginia Cavaliers had the Irish on the ropes and if not for yet another Total Collapse of UVA football under Mike London it would be Brian Kelly sitting on one of the Hottest Seats in the country right now which is truly another episode of the Luck of the Irish with this “Luck” being Totally Incompetent Coaching by Notre Dame’s opponent!
Up next for Notre Dame…
Georgia Tech at home and we await to see what kind of “Luck” the Irish will get this week to beat the Yellow Jackets because no doubt Paul Johnson will do something STUPID as well to give away this game to the Irish!
Let’s take a quick look at Notre Dame’s remaining schedule and guess how many wins the Irish will have in 2015 now sitting at 2 – 0:
Georgia Tech UMass At Clemson Navy USC At Temple At Pitt Wake Forest Boston College At Stanford
Our guess…Notre Dame wins EIGHT games in 2015 and if the Irish only win EIGHT games in 2015 Brian Kelly WILL BE FIRED shortly after the Stanford game on November 28….PERIOD…and a sitting NFL coach who happens to be Catholic will be the next head football coach of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
