CHS on the Ground in LA doing our best Swingers imitation – Beer Sunrise in Santa Monica
Santa Monica – The Sun is just starting to come out over the Santa Monica Pier and several members of Coaches Hot Seat are on the ground in LA now getting ready for the USC – Ohio State game. We were out at Father’s Office on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica last night doing our best impression of our favorite Hollywood boys….
Yes, LA is a nuthouse, but it is a fun nuthouse, at least for people that have a good sense of humor! Lots of interesting discussion last night on all kinds of topics and we finally got to talk to a couple of LA based TV honchos on the about two-week old new SEC deals with CBS and ESPN, that we have been working to set-up for a awhile now and we have a couple of other people that want to throw their two-cents in as well. Very interesting conversation to what direction TV is going relative to college football, the outlook for the Big Ten and the mtn. channels, and what sports on TV might look like 5 and 10 years from now. Once we digest all of these conversations we promise to write something up on it, but those damn pesky real day jobs keep getting in the way. Now only if we could figure out a way to make a living covering college football full-time, we might be able to spend some actual time on Coaches Hot Seat! Well, at least that topic is on the table for discussion for a couple of us that are considering buyouts from our employers that might allow for a lot more time for Coaches Hot Seat and might even make it into a full-time gig. We can only dream! Now that would be damn fun, but for now it is back to a nice looking room service breakfast, a jog down the beach, and a dip in the pool! Ahhh, nothing like living the high life in Southern California….
