We agree with all of the above fine writing by world-class columnists and reporters that have quite literally changed the game of college football in recent years with their work and all of the above flows from just a stunning press conference by Louis Freeh on Thursday that a few of us cut a meeting at work short for to watch and which we watched in first stunned silence and then words that cannot be repeated in this blog or anywhere else and those words flowed from an outrage towards the so-called “leadership” at Penn State that allowed a MONSTER to do EVIL things in Happy Valley for YEAR and that outrage is still simmering in all of us almost 24 hours later.
Anyone that reads this Coaches Hot Seat Blog knows we wrote a lot about the Sandusky – Penn State Debacle last Fall and one thing we wrote about was on November 9, 2011 was when we compared what happened at Penn State after Mike McQueary brought his concerns about what he saw happening in a shower in the Penn State athletic building to Joe Paterno compared to what would have happened in the REAL World if one of our employees had told us of the same kind of thing happening at one of our companies:
In graduate business schools in America “case studies” are often used to challenge students to think about how they might react to certain tough and challenging situations that have happened in the past from the REAL business world and imagine for a moment that you are Joe Paterno, AD Tim Curley, VP Gary Schultz or Penn State president Graham Spanier and an employee at Penn State comes to you acting as any of the above and says he just witnessed a long-time employee of Penn State in the shower with a young boy in the Penn State athletic building doing things of a sexual nature……what would you do?
Of course, the answer to the above question is obvious if you are talking about a REAL Human Being and that would be to immediately notify the police and other authorities that would have jurisdiction over the possible RAPE of a young boy on the Penn State campus!
Isn’t that the Freaking obvious Human Being thing to do?
Of course it is and that makes these Sorry Bastards that allowed this MONSTER Jerry Sandusky to dominate and even rape young men on and off the Penn State campus for YEARS very special Sorry Excuse for Human Beings that is a classification in our minds that is reserved for Sorry Excuse for a Human Beings like this Bastard:
We could go on for a long time commenting on this beyond Evil and beyond Disastrous story involving Jerry Sandusky and the so-called “leadership” at Penn State University, but frankly it makes us sick to thank about these issues for long and what really pisses us off is when our children ask us about Jerry Sandusky, Joe Paterno and Penn State which are questions we have NO Damn good answers for and only makes us madder at these Sorry Bastards that allowed Jerry Sandusky to dominate and rape young boys for YEARS at Penn State while they debated WHETHER they should report Sandusky to the authorities.
Who in the Hell exactly raised these Bastards that would have to debate for even one nanosecond on whether they should report even a possible child rapist to the police or not?
Certainly no one that was raised by REAL Human Beings that give a Damn about their fellow Human Beings.
In our opinion the REAL animal in this entire Sandusky story and one of the Sorriest Excuses for a Human Being breathing on the Earth today is former Penn State president Graham Spanier.
As pointed out in the below PennLive.com story the Freeh Report was especially Damning on the actions…or rather non-action of Graham Spanier:

Freeh savaged whatever was left of Spanier’s academic reputation. He accused Spanier, Penn State’s third-longest-tenured president, of repeatedly misleading the board of trustees and stage-managing their most important decisions.
He is portrayed as a power-hungry man, who placed his and the university’s public image above all else, including the welfare of abused young boys.
In 2001, according to Freeh, Spanier wrote in an email to senior officials Tim Curley and Gary Schultz that the “only downside for us is if the message isn’t ‘heard’ and acted upon, and we then become vulnerable for not having reported it. But that can be assessed down the road. The approach you outline is humane and a reasonable way to proceed.”
Even knowing that Sandusky had taken a boy into Penn State’s shower, Spanier directed that he was allowed to retire as a professor emeritus, despite being only an assistant professor.
Emeritus status meant Sandusky would have lifetime access to Penn State facilities, including the football locker rooms.
Then-provost, now-President Rodney Erickson approved Sandusky’s emeritus retirement even though it made him uncomfortable because Spanier approved it, according to Freeh.
Spanier is also shown to be a man willing to placate Paterno and the football program.
In 1998, months before Sandusky was caught with a boy in a campus shower for the first time, the university offered Sandusky a job as an assistant athletic director. He passed.”
As reported by Freeh it seems that Graham Spanier wrote in an email to Curley and Schultz that:

The answer to that question is that in our opinion NO REAL Human Being could possibly write the above email or NOT report Jerry Sandusky’s behavior to the proper authorities almost immediately upon hearing about them, but then we have believed for years and long before this Sandusky story broke last Fall that Graham Spanier was and is in our opinion one of the Sorriest Human Beings walking on this Earth today and either Spanier will be punished in this lifetime for what we consider to be his EVIL actions OR Graham Spanier will if there is a Hell join Bastards like this SOB….
….in a very special corner of Hell reserved for the most EVIL humans of all.
In December 2010 when writing about the Debacle of the NCAA, the Big Ten and the Sugar Bowl allowing the Ohio State players that had violated NCAA rules to play in the Sugar Bowl after what was in our opinion a Bogus and Fraudulent investigation into Jim Tressel and the Ohio State football team by the Administration at Ohio State we wrote the below blog post which mentioned Graham Spanier and a comment he made in a news story at the time:

I guess that means that Spanier believes it is OK for the Sugar Bowl “CEO” to make a point that players that have violated NCAA rules should be allowed to play in a bowl game and have their suspension moved back to the next season. Yes, that makes perfect sense if you are doing what you “believe is best for the overall college game, for our universities, and for out student-athletes.” Please, Spanier is full of Bullshit and he knows it!

Instead we say a prayer for all of the children and families that have seen their lives upended and destroyed by the actions of a few Sorry Excuses for Human Beings at Penn State University and we as Human Beings and Americans look forward to hopefully better days when the entire Sandusky Disaster can be put behind, but never forgotten, by the vast majority of good people of Pennsylvania that did nothing more than love their university, love their community and love their coach who sadly turned out to have violated the very principles of ethics and integrity that he preached to his players.
Yes, prayers for all that were hurt and destroyed and a hope that tomorrow and all the days that follow will make things a little bit better.
