The 8 Coaches and Teams That WON Their Week 6 MUST Win Games

Lane Kiffin, USC BEAT Utah – A loss to a Utah team that had only a week earlier got CRUSHED by Arizona State 37 – 7 would have been a Complete Disaster for Lane Kiffin and USC, but after starting slow and getting down by two touchdowns the Trojans recovered to beat the Utes 38 – 28 and now they face another MUST Win Game in Week 7 at Washington.

USC is now 4 – 1 on the season and they have left…

At Washington
Colorado
At Arizona
Oregon
Arizona State
At UCLA
Notre Dame

…and if USC doesn’t play better than they have played so far in 2012 they WILL LOSE 3 OR 4 MORE Games and that is not counting what we believe will be an USC win over an average Washington team on Saturday which really makes that Stanford loss to an average Washington team two weeks ago REALLY Damn Unacceptable!

Doug Marrone, Syracuse BEAT Pitt – Whew, that was a close 14 – 13 WIN by Syracuse over Pitt on Saturday BUT it was a badly needed WIN for Doug Marrone and the Orangemen who now have WINS over Stony Brook and Pitt this season and have left…

At Rutgers
Connecticut
At South Florida
At Cincinnati
Louisville
At Missouri
At Temple

….and if Doug Marrone wants to get his Syracuse football team to a bowl game which is a necessity to build a strong football programs they are going to have win at least 3 games out of their remaining 7 games where they will be serious underdogs.

Rich Ellerson, Army BEAT Boston College – We REALLY don’t like putting Military Academy head coaches on the Hot Seat but the way Rich Ellerson’s Army football team has played in 2012 to open the season with losses against San Diego State, Northern Illinois, Wake Forest and even I-AA Stony Brook it was very nice to see the Cadets motivated to play and BEAT a team with four to five more times talent than Army in Boston College. Army now plays three straight games against MAC Conference teams….Kent State, at Eastern Michigan and Ball State before the BIG game against Air Force at West Point AND if Army plays like they did in the BC game they should be 4 – 4 when the Falcons show up on the Hudson River in early November.

David Shaw, Stanford BEAT Arizona – The Stanford offense OUTSCORED the Arizona offense on Saturday BEATING the Wildcats on Saturday 54 – 48 in overtime BUT if Stanford football wants to be a complete football team then it MUST have both the offense AND defense show-up on gameday and even though The Cardinal has BEATEN the Irish the last three times going back over the past decade Stanford football is 3 – 7 against Notre Dame.

Notre Dame hasn’t played or beaten a team that is now in the Top 25 USA Today Poll and the five teams that Notre Dame has beaten (Navy, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State and Miami) have a collective record of…

16 – 11

…and the best WIN by any of Notre Dame’s opponents is…

Miami BEATING NC State!

That Miami crushed NC State and then turned around and got crushed by Notre Dame and that NC State beat Florida State should tell everyone how..

Very Damn Weak

…the ACC Conference is in 2012!

The word out of Chicago where our Notre Dame friends live is that “Notre Dame is back” and they are more worried about the game at Oklahoma in two weeks than “little ole’ Stanford!”

Really?

Since Notre Dame has played Navy, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State and Miami which is FIVE teams that play Candy Ass Football what about the…

Stanford Cardinal POPPING THE Irish in THE MOUTH on Saturday?

The Vegas Boys say that Notre Dame is an…

8 point favorite

….over Stanford?

Really?

YES, let’s find out if the Notre Dame Fighting Irish really know how to FIGHT or if they have just opened the season against…

FIVE Marshmallow Teams

….that melt away when you Pop Them in the Mouth which the Stanford Cardinal is going to do in South Bend on Saturday against the Irish.

Get ready to get POPPED IN THE MOUTH Irish….Get READY!

Bret Bielema, Wisconsin BEAT Illinois – With the WIN over Illinois the Wisconsin Badgers are 4 – 2 this season with losses to Oregon State and Nebraska by 3 points in both games and as bad as Wisconsin has played in 2012 they are only a few points from being 6 – 0 right now. Wisconsin has a BIG game on Saturday at Purdue and if the Badgers can win that game they should be 8 – 2 when the Ohio State Buckeyes arrive in Madison on November 17.

Bob Stoops, Oklahoma BEAT Texas Tech – Bob Stoops and the Sooners REALLY needed to beat Texas Tech on Saturday and OU got that MUST Win to run their record to 3 – 1 on the season and here comes another MUST Win Game for both head coaches in the Red River Rivalry between Oklahoma and Texas. The WINNER of this week’s OU – UT game in Dallas will be off and running again and the LOSER will find its coach starting to be questioned again about the direction of their football program and that means the Red River Rivalry will be a game where both coaches and teams will be desperate for a WIN and that is usually the most entertaining games to watch!

Tony Levine, Houston BEAT North Texas – After starting the season 0 – 3 Tony Levine is slowly starting to get things turned around at Houston with back-to-back wins over Rice and North Texas and Levine MUST keep things rolling with UAB coming to town on Saturday in another MUST Win Game for Houston.

Jeff Tedford, California BEAT UCLA – Jeff Tedford HAD TO HAVE that win over UCLA on Saturday and the Golden Bears beat the suddenly reeling Bruins and now Cal and Tedford face another MUST Win Game in Week 7 in a game at Washington State. Now at 2 – 4 on the season Cal has left…

At Washington State
Stanford
At Utah
Washington
Oregon
At Oregon State

…and more than likely Cal will be the underdog in 4 of their last 6 games and Cal needs 4 WINS just to get to .500 on the year which is the mark you have to hit in Berkeley, California to be….

GOLDEN!

…in a place where Mediocrity is celebrated and being average equals being an ICON!

The 12 Coaches and Teams That LOST Their Week 6 MUST Win Games

Mario Cristobal, Florida International LOST TO Arkansas State – After getting things turned around at Florida International and putting up two back-to-back winning and bowl-trip seasons at FIU something has gone terribly wrong in south Florida with FIU starting the 2012 season at…

1 – 5

…and they have left…

Middle Tennessee
At Troy
Western Kentucky
At South Alabama
At Florida Atlantic
La. Monroe

…and if Mario Cristobal doesn’t get his football team playing a lot better FOOTBALL his FIU team is going to have a Complete Disaster on their hands at the end of what will be a terribly disappointing season.

Gene Chizik, Auburn LOST TO Arkansas – Gene Chizik and Auburn LOST the ONE game they could NOT lose in 2012 in losing to and Arkansas that is a Complete Disaster this past Saturday and now it seems there is the very real chance that Auburn could go….

0 – 8

…in the SEC in 2012 and at a place like Auburn where Gilligan…

…as the head coach of the Tigers could rack-up at least .500 SEC Conference records every year the idea that Auburn could finish at 0 – 8 in SEC play is not just disappointing it is a Complete Disaster for Gene Chizik AND the entire “Auburn family.”

Here’s the REAL problem for Gene Chizik right now: At 1 – 4 overall and 0 – 3 in SEC play Auburn has to play their next two SEC games on the road…

At Ole Miss
At Vanderbilt

…and not only are those two games MUST WINS they are really Better the Hell NOT lose games because there is NO excuse for Auburn football to lose to Ole Miss and Vanderbilt especially only two years removed from winning the Bogus BCS National Championship which should be a time when the Auburn football program is on a roll not falling to pieces.

We all may be looking at the GREATEST FALL in the history of Major College Football with the way the Auburn football team has regressed and is now imploding before our eyes in the last two seasons and the next 7 games may very well be a Shakespearean tragedy come to life some 500 years after the scribe’s death with Gene Chizik playing the main role and the tragic figure who may very well be looking up at someone after getting fired at Auburn and saying….

“You too, Pat?”

Frank Spaziani, Boston College LOST TO Army – After the LOSS to Army on Saturday BC head coach Frank Spaziani’s records are….

Overall: 21 – 23
ACC: 12 – 14

…and with BC now at 1 – 4 on the season and these games left…

At Florida State
At Georgia Tech
Maryland
At Wake Forest
Notre Dame
Virginia Tech
At NC State

….it looks like for sure there will be a head coaching change at Chestnut Hill come December and now we are going find out if the Boston College football players have any pride left in them are they going to lay down and quit.

Ellis Johnson, Southern Miss LOST TO Boise State – We certainly don’t envy the challenge that Ellis Johnson has taken on at Southern Miss and after starting the season at 0 – 5 and with a game at UCF in Game 6 and these games left after the trip to Orlando…

Marshall
At Rice
UAB
At SMU
UTEP
At Memphis

….it would take a MIRACLE to get Southern Miss to a .500 record and bowl game this season and when you don’t go to bowl games at Southern Miss you end up on the Hot Seat!

Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech LOST TO North Carolina – Instead of putting up empty trophy cases in the Virginia Tech athletics department to hold some “future National Championship trophy” maybe what Frank Beamer and his coaching staff should be concerned with and doing is…

COACHING their Damn football team!

No, just showing up for work and watching film and being on the practice field with your players is NOT COACHING your Damn football team and now at 3 – 3 on the season and 1 – 1 in the ACC the Virginia Tech football program faces a CROSSROADS game in Week 7 as they Duke Blue Devils come rolling into Blacksburg and if the Hokies lose this game then Frank Beamer better start making retirement plans because his coaching career will be coming to an end a Helluva lot sooner than Frank ever thought it would.

Drinking coffee, eating donuts, watching film and walking around a practice field is…

NOT COACHING!

..and right now there is NO ONE COACHING the Virginia Tech players so of course the 2012 football season for the Hokies is imploding!

Joker Phillips, Kentucky LOST TO Mississippi State – Joker Phillips and his Kentucky football team NEED SOME WINS and now at 1 – 5 overall and 0 – 3 in SEC play this Saturday’s game at Arkansas is a game that…

Kentucky CAN WIN

AND

Kentucky MUST WIN

….especially when one considers what is up next after the Hogs:

Georgia
At Missouri
Vanderbilt
Samford
At Tennessee

Les Miles, LSU LOST TO Florida – We talked to our long-time Coon Ass friend in New Orleans on Sunday night after he got back from his weekly dinner and poker game with his LSU – Coon Ass friends (which we can attest is a dinner where the Coon Asses try to get you drunk so they can take your money in the poker game but they little do they know our trick of tipping the waiters before the dinner to really water-down our drinks so we are REALLY ready for the poker game! Yes, that is how we got you Coon Asses!) and the report out of New Orleans on “the state” of the LSU football program is….

NEGATIVE!

What the Hell does NEGATIVE for the LSU football program mean exactly?

The LSU football program is in disarray with LOTS of LSU players still wondering why Les Miles stuck with Jordan Jefferson throughout the entire Bogus BCS Championship Game in January against BAMA which is causing some of the LSU football players to question Les Miles’ decisions, play-calling and even…..SANITY!

Oh, by the way with the LSU football program in disarray here come the…

South Carolina Gamecocks

….into Baton Rouge on Saturday and our Coon Ass New Orleans friend told us that if LSU loses to South Carolina the LSU football program will…

IMPLODE from within!

Coach ‘em up Les because if you lose to South Carolina with these games left after the ‘Cocks…

At Texas A&M
Alabama
Mississippi State
Ole Miss
At Arkansas

…you just might wake-up in late November and find your rear-end on the Hot Seat!

Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech LOST TO Clemson – Georgia Tech head coach Paul Johnson fired the Tech defensive coordinator Al Groh this week after his defense was giving up OVER 30 points per game this season and if Paul Johnson had only called us a couple of years ago and asked if he should hire Al Groh as his DC we would have said…

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

YES, Al Groh “knows” football but Al Groh DOES NOT KNOW how to COACH FOOTBALL and the problems that Al Groh had at Virginia and with the Georgia Tech defense all go back to the FACT that Al Groh in our opinion does not have a FREAKING CLUE…

HOW TO COACH FOOTBALL!

Here’s a thought for whoever takes over the Georgia Tech defense:

Teach the No. 1 Fundamental of playing Defense in the Game of Football:

TACKLING!

If you cannot TACKLE you CANNOT play winning football and right now Georgia Tech couldn’t tackle the 88 year old Jimmy Carter….

…if he wandered over from the Carter Library to the Georgia Tech practice field with a football in his hands and if you CANNOT TACKLE the 88 year-old Jimmy Carter could someone please explain to us how in the Hell you are going to TACKLE 18 – 22 year olds that are playing Major College Football?

Answer: You AREN’T!

Georgia Tech is now 2 – 4 on the season and they have left…

Boston College
BYU
At Maryland
At North Carolina
Duke
At Georgia

….and if the Yellow Jackets play those 6 games like they played their first 6 games they will end the season with a less than .500 record and even Jimmy Carter…

…could coach Georgia Tech to a Plus .500 record every year which raises the question why in the Hell is Georgia Tech paying Paul Johnson MORE than…

$2.5 Million Dollars a year?

Oh, by the way in a continuing story from Land of the Idiots otherwise known as the Administrators of Major College Football as reported by Heather Dinich of ESPN via Ken Sugiura of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Paul Johnson has a…

$10.485 Million Dollar Buyout

…IF Georgia Tech wanted to fire him this season.

YES, only Very Damn Stupid People sign college head football coaches to long-term contracts WITHOUT a reasonable buyout and thus the people running…

Georgia Tech Institute of Technology

….are Very Damn Stupid People!

Tommy Tuberville, Texas Tech LOST TO Oklahoma – Tommy Tuberville and Texas Tech feasted on 3 Cupcakes to start the season….

…and then got a nice win over Iowa State to open up with a record of 4 – 0 BUT after the loss to Oklahoma on Saturday the Red Raiders are 4 – 1 on the season and they have next…

West Virginia!

Can you say 4 – 2 Tommy?

After West Virginia the Red Raiders have left…

At TCU
At Kansas State
Texas
Kansas
At Oklahoma State
Baylor

…and if Texas Tech plays like they did against Oklahoma they WILL finish the season BELOW .500.

Can you say Hot Seat GETTING Hotter Tommy?

Gary Pinkel, Missouri LOST TO Vanderbilt – Gary Pinkel and the Missouri Tigers REALLY needed to beat Vanderbilt on Saturday BUT after losing to the Commodores at home in Columbia and now at 3 – 3 on the season and 0 – 3 in SEC play the Tigers have left…

Alabama
Kentucky
At Florida
At Tennessee
Syracuse
At Texas A&M

…and if Missouri plays their next 6 games like they played their first 6 games they will finish the season BELOW .500 and that would put Gary Pinkel squarely on the Hot Seat!

Welcome to the SEC Gary Pinkel where average coaching will get your rear-end FIRED!

Mack Brown, Texas LOST TO West Virginia – Losing a close game to West Virginia is NO shame BUT the Texas Longhorns now at 4 – 1 on the season really need to bounce back this week against an Oklahoma team that Texas CAN BEAT in the Red River Rivalry which would launch the ‘Horns forward into the rest of their Big 12 games BUT a loss to Oklahoma and there would be a lot of people worrying in Austin that another mediocre season was in the offing…..so coach and pay HARD Texas!

Bobby Hauck, UNLV LOST TO La. Tech – Losing to a very good La. Tech team is NO shame BUT with the loss to La. Tech on Saturday the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels are now at 1 – 5 on the season and they have left…

Nevada
At Boise State
At San Diego State
New Mexico
At Colorado State
Wyoming
At Hawaii

…and to that schedule we can only say…

Good Luck to you Bobby Hauck!
