"Covering College Football Coaching from Miami to Honolulu"

With FOUR Major College Football Teams Still Undefeated – Alabama, Kansas State, Oregon and Notre Dame – Its Time For the “Powers That Be” in College Football and Intercollegiate Athletics To Begin Thinking About Putting Together A REAL National Championship Game For….This Season! – How Such A National Championship Game Could Be Put Together And What Kind of Revenues….A LOT….Such A Game Would Generate For Intercollegiate Athletics and OUR Institutions of Higher Learning In America – IF Alabama, Kansas State, Oregon and Notre Dame ALL Win Their Games Over The Weekend Its Time for the “Powers To Be” To GET TO WORK!

Now that we are in Week 11 of the college football season and there are still 4 teams in Major College Football….

Alabama
Kansas State
Oregon
Notre Dame

….that are undefeated and in our opinion there being at least a 50 – 50 chance that ALL FOUR teams will finish the regular and championship game season undefeated its time for the “Powers That Be” in Major College Football and Intercollegiate Athletics to start talking and acting like REAL Americans and begin working on a plan to pair the above FOUR TEAMS in two bowl games and set up a REAL National Championship Game between the winners of those two Bowl National Semi-Final Games in January.

Besides the “Powers That Be” setting up a REAL National Championship Game which is the RIGHT and AMERICAN thing to do it is also a way for Major College Football to conduct a dry run for the 2014 Postseason Four-Team Playoff Plans and to make a Helluva lot of money for Intercollegiate Athletics in the process.

Here is how all of the above could work in our opinion:

Right now it looks like if Alabama, Kansas State, Oregon and Notre Dame ALL finish the season unbeaten that the Bogus BCS ranking system will spit out matchups of….

Alabama vs. Oregon in the Bogus BCS National Title Game, Monday, January 7, 2013

Kansas State vs. Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl, Thursday, January 3, 2012

…and there is NO legitimate reason that both of the above games couldn’t be billed as the….

National Championship Semi-Final Games

….with the Fiesta Bowl between Kansas State – Notre Dame being moved forward to be played on Sunday night January 6, 2013 and the Alabama – Oregon game would still be played on Monday night January 7, 2013.

The National Championship Game pairing the winners of the two National Semi-Final Games between…

Alabama vs. Oregon

And

Kansas State vs. Notre Dame

….would then be played on the following Monday night January 14, 2013 and to get that process in motion of getting that game set-up the “Powers That Be” in Major College Football and Intercollegiate Athletics need to make a call to….

Jerry Jones

…and tell Jerry they would like to use his Cowboys Stadium facility for the National Championship Game on Monday, January 14, 2012 and we have no doubt that Jerry would be more than happy to set that game up (Cowboys Stadium January 2013 Event Schedule).

The Positive Finances for staging a National Championship Game This Year

Besides settling the National Championship on the Field of Play in 2012 – 2013 if Alabama, Oregon, Kansas State and Notre Dame ALL finish the season unbeaten the revenues that could be generated by such a…

National Championship Game

….are so positive for Major College Football and Intercollegiate Athletics that this is a game that SHOULD and MUST be held and the finances for this game break down as follows.

With Dennis Dodd reporting that ESPN has offered….

$500 Million Per Year

….for the 4-Team Postseason Playoff beginning in 2014…

ESPN puts early value on playoff: Close to $500 million per year, Dennis Dodd, CBS Sports

….it is our opinion that if the “Powers That Be” put out a bid among the major networks/cable channels for a National Championship Game matching-up the winners of….

Alabama vs. Oregon

Kansas State vs. Notre Dame

….to be played on Monday night January 14, 2013 it would fetch….

$125 Million Dollars

…..and that does not include ticket and suite sales at Cowboys Stadium which would bring in around….

$6.5 Million Dollars

…after Jerry Jones took his cut from concessions, parking and some of the ticket and suite sales which makes a National Championship Game for the 2012 – 2013 college football season worth…

$131.5 Million Dollars

Now to the important question of how that $131.5 Million Dollars should be divvied up which in our opinion should be split-up in the following way:

$25 Million Dollars EACH to the Conferences with teams playing in the National Championship Game = $50 Million Dollars

$15 Million Dollars EACH to the Conferences with teams playing in the National Semi-Final Games = $30 Million Dollars

$7.5 Million Dollars to EACH of the following Conferences that did not have teams in the Semi or National Championship Games: ACC, Big East, Big Ten = $22.5 Million Dollars

$3 Million Dollars to EACH of the following Conferences: CUSA, MAC, MWC, Sun Belt, WAC = $18 Million Dollars

$500K EACH to the three service academies: Air Force, Navy and Army = $1.5 Million Dollars

$5 Million Dollars to the Wounded Warrior Project

$2.5 Million Dollars to be banked for the future operation of the Postseason Playoff in Major College Football beginning in 2014 to be used for expenses, salaries, office rent, operations, etc.

$2 Million Dollars to pay staff and set up an office in the Dallas area to run the 2013 National Championship Game between now and January 13, 2013

Total:  $131.5 Million Dollars

Now is there any American that really believes that the same American People that planned and pulled-off D-Day which began the Liberation of Europe cannot put together a….

National Championship Game

….to host the winners of Two National Semi-Final Games which are already planned and in place to be played in January and would send the winners of those 2 games to a National Title Game to be played on Monday, January 14, 2013?

Please, putting together a National Championship Game would be challenging and it would take a lot of work but certainly could very easily be done and with Jerry Jones having a great stadium in the Dallas, Texas area that is ready, willing and able to host this game that will make over One Hundred Million Dollars for Intercollegiate Athletics and America’s Institutions of Higher Learning this National Championship Game is something that….

SHOULD and MUST BE DONE!

Now if Alabama, Oregon, Kansas State and Notre Dame ALL win this weekend the “Powers That Be” in Major College Football and Intercollegiate Athletics need to…

GET TO WORK!
