The Coaches Hot Seat Look At, Analysis, Thoughts and Prediction for the 2013 Bogus BCS National Championship Between Alabama and Notre Dame – Let’s Have A GREAT Football Game!

We rarely pick football games here at Coaches Hot Seat that is if you don’t count the annual Coaches Hot Seat prediction that…

Stanford Football is going to KICK Lane Kiffin and the USC Trojans’ Asses

LaneKiffin9

Sorry, Pete Carroll, We love you Man, but Stanford BEAT YOUR ASS at the LA Coliseum in 2009 55 – 21!

Oh, and don’t forget that 2007 Stanford WIN OVER USC in 2007 in Jim Harbaugh’s first year on the The Farm which means Stanford has beaten USC….

FIVE OF THE LAST SIX YEARS!

….and with Stanford now on a roll of beating USC FOUR STRAIGHT YEARS those predictions are looking mighty fine indeed….BUT…..we have picked the Bogus BCS National Championship Game in recent years with CHS picking….

LSU OVER Ohio State in January 2008 – RIGHT

Florida OVER Oklahoma in January 2009 – RIGHT

Alabama OVER Texas in January 2010 – RIGHT

Oregon OVER Auburn in January 2011 – WRONG

Alabama OVER LSU in January 2012 – RIGHT

…and before we pick the 2013 BCS National Championship Game we wanted to first see the Cotton Bowl between Texas A&M and Oklahoma and with the Aggies whipping of the Sooners and taking Oklahoma out behind the barn and…

Taking The Sooners’ Manhood Away Including Bob and Mike Stoops Manhood as the Stoops Brothers stood helpless on the sidelines unable to stop Johnny Football

….we now have the EIGHT games that were played in the 2012 – 2013 Major College Football season that should lead anyone with a Lick of Common Sense to what is going to happen on Monday night between Alabama and Notre Dame.

YES….ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN in football and theoretically ANY team in I-A (FBS) football can beat ANY other team in I-A (FBS) football BUT come on now there is a Very Good Reason why Alabama is a….

9.5 Favorite

…OVER Notre Dame and now we are going to tell you why the Tide is such a big favorite over the Irish.

The First of the EIGHT games directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night was…

September 5, 2012 – Dallas, Texas
Alabama – 41
Michigan – 14

Alabama just flat-out crushed Michigan in Dallas in the opening weekend of the season and to say that the Alabama and Michigan football programs inhabit different worlds in 2012 is just a massive understatement and says a lot about the world that Bama and Notre Dame live in as well. Hell, Bama could have beat Michigan by 60 if it had wanted to on September 5 and that says a lot too.

The Second of the EIGHT games directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night was…

September 22, 2012 – South Bend, Indiana
Notre Dame – 13
Michigan – 6

Michigan showed itself to be an average team against Notre Dame in Week 4 with the Wolverine offense not even being able to score a touchdown against the Irish who won a hard fought defensive game with Notre Dame only scoring 13 points on a Michigan team that gave up 41 points to Bama in Week 1.

The Third of the EIGHT games directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night was….

September 22, 2012 – Norman, Oklahoma
Kansas State – 24
Oklahoma – 19

In a game that wasn’t as close as the score Kansas State gave Oklahoma a taste of the way the Sooners USED to play football….tough and physical…as compared to the Candy Ass Football they now play under a Bob Stoops in Norman that the “Old Bob Stoops” would not recognize and by beating Oklahoma in Week 5 the Wildcats showed themselves to be a force to be reckoned with in the Big 12.

The Fourth of the EIGHT games directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night was….

October 13, 2012 – South Bend, Indiana
Notre Dame – 20
Stanford – 13
1 Overtime

After a pitiful loss to Washington in Seattle the Stanford Cardinal showed up ready to play against the Irish in South Bend in Week 6 and in a tough defensive game that saw Stanford only score 7 points with its offense it took a late field-goal by the Irish just to get the game into overtime and then Stanford running the same play 3 straight times from the one-yard line to give the Irish the hard fought victory.

Bottom Line on Stanford and Notre Dame after seeing the Irish in person in South Bend: Notre Dame is bigger and faster than they were when Brian Kelly arrived in South Bend three years ago but they are just barely faster than Stanford which makes them two or three steps behind most SEC teams….especially Alabama. In 2012 Stanford and Notre Dame were both very good teams but roughly equal teams BUT Alabama is 7 to 10 points better than Stanford and keep that thought in your head as we move on.

The Fifth of the EIGHT games directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night was….

October 27, 2012, Norman, Oklahoman
Notre Dame – 30
Oklahoma – 13

YES, Notre Dame must get some credit for beating Oklahoma in Norman….BUT….with Bob Stoops now working in our opinion at about…

70 Percent Effort

…of what Stoops worked at when he first arrived at Oklahoma in 1999 beating Oklahoma JUST ISN’T what beating Oklahoma and Stoops used to be and in what was nothing less than the Irish whipping the Sooners in front of their own fans Notre Dame staked a claim for playing for the national title with a big win deep into heart of Sooner country.

The Sixth of the EIGHT games directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night was….

November 24, 2012 – Los Angeles, California
Notre Dame – 22
USC – 13

YES, Notre Dame played a pretty good game against USC in the LA Coliseum in Week 12….BUT….that it took the Irish playing a pretty good game to beat the woeful, embarrassing and now crumbling around Lane Kiffin and Pat Haden as you read this blog post…

YES, from what we are told by people we know that love USC and USC football there are MASSIVE issues inside the USC athletic department right now and with the USC football program and no one should be surprised if those issues don’t explode into the public arena for all to see before the 2013 college football season kicks-off and we will give you three guesses who we are told isn’t willing to face up to the TRUTH that he doesn’t have a Freaking Clue what he is doing…Hey, you guessed right!

LaneKiffin9

….and if Notre Dame in Week 12 was struggling to beat a pitiful USC team then how good are the Irish anyway?

Well, in our opinion as the regular season ended…

Stanford is about 7 points better than USC

Stanford and Notre Dame are roughly even teams

Oregon is about 3 points better than Stanford

Kansas State is about 7 points better than Oklahoma

Alabama is 25 points better than Michigan

Alabama is 7 to 10 points better than Stanford

Alabama is 3 to 5 points better than Oregon

Oregon is 7 or so points better than Notre Dame

Oklahoma is playing Candy Ass Football under Bob Stoops and Bob Stoops will probably work at 60 percent effort in 2013 and get paid $5 Million Dollars to basically work part-time….in our opinion of course.

WAIT….before we say how much better Alabama is than Notre Dame let’s finish up our EIGHT games that are directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night.

The Seventh of the EIGHT games directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night was….

January 3, 2013 – Fiesta Bowl – Phoenix, Arizona
Oregon – 35
Kansas State – 17

Oregon just dominated Kansas State from the kick-off and proved yet again that the Big 12 plays football on a level below the SEC and even Pac-12 Conference when the Elite Teams are matched-up against the other conferences Elite Teams and if…

Kansas State can beat Oklahoma in Norman

Notre Dame can beat Oklahoma in Norman

Notre Dame needs overtime to beat Stanford in South Bend

Stanford beat Oregon in Eugene

AND

Oregon can DOMINATE Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl

That EQUALS…

Oregon is probably better than…

Notre Dame

Stanford

…and about equal to….

Alabama

…which brings us to the LAST of these EIGHT Games.

The Eighth of the EIGHT games directly related to the Alabama – Notre Dame clash on Monday night was….

January 4, 2013 – Cotton Bowl – Dallas, Texas
Texas A&M – 41
Oklahoma – 13

Although it is now hard to use the Oklahoma Sooners as a measuring stick against anything else these days since they quit playing tackle football in Norman about 5 years ago under Bob Stoops the…

Complete Destruction

….of Oklahoma by the Texas A&M Aggies tells everyone a lot about what that Notre Dame win over Oklahoma in Norman was really worth and it was really worth…

Almost Nothing.

YES, Notre Dame beating Oklahoma when the Sooners still played tackle football under Bob Stoops would have been a BIG Win for the Irish…BUT….

Notre Dame’s close win over a mediocre Purdue team

Notre Dame’s close win over a mediocre Michigan team

Notre Dame’s overtime win over Stanford in South Bend

Notre Dame’s close win over BYU in South Bend

Notre Dame’s beating of a hapless Oklahoma team

Notre Dame’s overtime win over a mediocre Pitt team

Notre Dame’s close win over a self-destructing USC team

….ALL together add up to a Notre Dame football team that is very good but in reality if the Fighting Irish had been a member of the SEC or Pac-12 in 2012 they would have had…

TWO LOSSES AT LEAST

….and would have probably just gotten their ass whipped by Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl.

YES, there is a Very Damn Good Reason why the Vegas Boys have Alabama as a…

9.5 Point Favorite

….OVER Notre Dame which will probably go lower as Danny Sheridan has pointed out on many occasions when Billions of Dollars by loyal Irish fans and even a few Roman Catholic priests wager a few Dollars (I don’t remember “Thee shall not gamble” being in the Ten Commandments!) on Notre Dame and probably by kick-off on Monday night the people crazy and foolish enough to wager their own money on college football games and all those deeply loyal (and some would say foolish) Irish fans will have driven the Alabama – Notre Dame line down to…

Alabama MINUS 8.5 Points

….which is probably very close to what the final score difference will be in this Bama – Irish clash for the ages and the Coaches Hot Seat Prediction for the 2013 Bogus BCS National Championship Game is….

Alabama – 27
Notre Dame – 18

….with the Irish getting a touchdown in the 4 th quarter to make the game look closer than it actually was.

SunLife78

As for us here at Coaches Hot Seat that are up Florida coast from all of the madness of South Beach and will be here until we head down to the game on Monday we are hoping for a…

GREAT Football Game

….and if we were Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame coaches we would be making Damn sure that those Alabama wide receivers are not running loose, wild and open on Monday night because from what we saw of the Irish against Stanford in September Notre Dame is tough enough up-front to stop the Alabama running game and that means this Bama – ND battle may come down to IF….

The Notre Dame defensive backs can cover the Alabama wide receivers long enough for the Irish to get some pressure on Bama QB A. J. McCarron and that is very important because when McCarron does get pressured is when he starts making mistakes and thus we would be bringing the heat on AJ from the opening snap to make Damn sure that McCarron knew we were going to Pop him in the mouth if he stands in that pocket for too long and with Bama having NO experiences QBs behind McCarron if he does start to get pressured Saban and the Tide will become more conservative with their play-calling to protect their QB and Leader because if McCarron goes down Notre Dame BEATS Bama on Monday night.

Let’s ALL hope for a Great Football Game on Monday night between two of the Greatest College Football Programs in the history of the Great Game of College Football.

Roll Tide! AND Go Fighting Irish!

Alabama Crimson Tide

Notre Dame Fighting Irish
