Butch Davis and North Carolina in 2008

Butch Davis and his North Carolina football team had a tough time in ’07, but they were surprisingly competitive in several games, and it will be up to Davis to translate that competitiveness into wins in ’08.  The Tar Heels have a very favorable ACC and non-conference schedule in 2008, and if Butch Davis is able to focus his team on defending Kenan Memorial Stadium, North Carolina will have a chance to have a very good season in ’08.  An early season game at Miami will be a very important match-up for both the Tar Heel and Hurricanes, and it might be a bellwether game for how the season will go for both teams.  Can North Carolina have a breakout year in ’08, or does Davis not yet have enough talent in Chapel Hill to compete with the top teams in the ACC?  Here is how see the ’08 season playing out for the Tar Heels:
