On one of those endless warm sunny spring days that doesn’t come along often on the central coast of California several members of Coaches Hot Seat were playing golf hard against the magnificent Pacific Ocean (Days like Wednesday make one wish that California wasn’t run by the Biggest group of Idiots to come along since the Jimmy Carter Administration was in power because California could and should be a great place to do business, to live in and to raise a family, but the facts are…IT ISN’T…and we all were forced to leave! Check out the latest debacle story for California with Chief Executive magazine AGAIN ranking California #50, DEAD LAST in the country, as the WORST state in America to do business in…which we completely agree with! Yes, these Buffoons running California are some Very Stupid People!) when all at once ALL of our cell phones started to ring at the same time.

CHS Member 1: “That many calls at once can only mean one thing.”
CHS Member 2: “Paramount just bought the project.”
CHS Member 1: “If so, then we eat in style tonight! Cioppino at Phil’s Fish Market!”
CHS Member 3: “I will buy the cold beer if someone will buy my cioppino.”
CHS Member 1: “Hell, Phil’s Cioppino isn’t cheap!”
CHS Member 2: “Yes, but he doesn’t know how much beer I am going to drink!”
CHS Member 4 (after talking to someone on the phone): “It’s not Paramount. The US Justice Department’s Antitrust Division just sent a letter to the NCAA asking questions about the BCS.”
CHS Member 2: “Hell, I would swap selling the project to Paramount to get rid of the Bogus BCS.”
CHS Member 1: “This is great news…for Americans that like settling championships on the field of play….so we eat Cioppino at Phil’s tonight!”
CHS Member 2: “I will call Paramount on the way to Phil’s and see where we stand….”

After a great dinner at Phil’s Fish Market of Incredible Cioppino, garlic bread and plenty of cold beer…

….we left the rental car at Phil’s and had a cab take us back to the hotel where we read up on the US Justice Department’s Antitrust Division’s letter to the NCAA about the Bogus BCS and all we can say is….is the same thing we have been saying in this blog for over four years now:
There is going to be a Postseason Playoff Tournament in Major College Football and the Incredibly Un-American and Bogus BCS will be tossed onto the dustbin of history….never to be seen or heard from again…as it should be.
The Three Questions asked by the Antitrust Division of the US Justice Department to the NCAA about the Bogus BCS:
1. Why does the Football Bowl Subdivision not have a playoff, when so many other NCAA sports have NCAA-run playoffs or championships?
2. What steps, if any, has the NCAA taken to create a playoff among Football Bowl Subdivision programs before or during your tenure? To the extent any steps were taken, why were they not successful? What steps does the NCAA plan to take to create a playoff at this time?
3. Have you determined that there are aspects of the BCS system that do not serve the interests of fans, colleges, universities, and players? To what extent could an alternative system better serve those interests?
We will help NCAA president Mark Emmert on answering the above questions:

1. This answer is very simple and it is called the BCS Bastards that care about little in life but out-and-out Greed coupled with an insatiable need for power over the game of college football is dominated by a very small group of bowl executives, conference commissioners, college presidents and various other hangers-on that would be lucky to have a job working the swing-shift at the local 7-Eleven on the very best day of their lives….while of course they make 6-figures a year working inside the Bogus BCS. That is the ONLY reason major college football does not already have a postseason playoff. Greed + Power = Corruption and the BCS Bastards have that in spades….in our opinion of course!
2. None. Not Applicable. The NCAA for the past two decades has been dominated and slapped around by the Sorry Bastards mentioned in the answer to question one (The BCS Bastards) and it is yet undermined if new NCAA president is going to allow himself to treated like a yard dog….

…by the BCS Bastards or if Emmert is going to step-up and demand that the college football postseason be constructed in a way that is best for the fans, the players, the coaches and the game itself. No, that would not be the Bogus BCS which has not only cost intercollegiate athletics Billions of Dollars in the last 13 years but does not even crown a legitimate National Champion in college football…which to be legitimate would have to be determined on the Field of Play.
3. The Bogus BCS serves NO ONES interests except for the very small group of SOBs that are mentioned in answers 1 and 2…the BCS Bastards…that don’t really give a Damn about anything but carrying on the Bogus bowl system and Un-American BCS so they can continue partying down while sending their big party bills to the college and universities that play I-A college football, with most of those schools being public and thus publicly funded by the taxpayers. The very same postseason system used by EVERY OTHER SPORT in intercollegiate athletics by the NCAA to determine the National Champions would serve EVERY ONE better…except of course for the Very Greedy BCS Bastards that in our opinion would take down the game of college football in order to hang on to their precious, Very Un-American and Bogus BCS.
As we just said above:
There is going to be a Postseason Playoff Tournament in Major College Football to determine the National Champion on the Field of Play and there is not a Damn thing that any of the BCS Bastards will be able to stop that from happening….although many of the people that have been involved in and championing the Bogus BCS and these bowl games over the past decade-plus may very well find themselves in deep trouble in the coming years as information comes out about ALL of the bowl games comes out in the same manner that happened with the Fiesta Bowl when a full and honest investigation was finally completed by an outside group that was not owned by the Fiesta Bowl cronies.
Yes, there is a WHOLE DAMN LOTthat is going to come out in the coming years about the Bogus BCS and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to have attended bowl games over the years (and we have been to an average of 10 a year since the early 1990s) to see that many of the events, often corporate in nature and fueled by money that is accountable to know one, have no business being anywhere near intercollegiate athletics and certainly would not fall under any Federal non-profit laws we have ever read….which means not only will the US Justice Department be looking in the Bogus, but no doubt the IRS as well.
No, the BCS Boys and Girls have nothing to worry about….right?

Luckily, if the BCS Boys and Girls have nothing to worry about then they have nothing to fear of a full investigation of EVERY PENNY that has been spent by the “non-profit” bowl games over the past two decades that was of course overseen by BCS “officials”….with “officials” meaning the executive director, the conference commissioners and even yes…the college presidents who have been involved in and attending events within the BCS and the bowl games which puts those college presidents front and center and directly accountable for ANY AND ALL improprieties by anyone within the BCS system.
That’s right, there are many college presidents that have been to ALL of these elaborate parties with money being spent hand over fist right in front of their eyes while college athletic departments around the country are struggling to stay in the black even though they are getting ever increasing amounts of fees from the schools’ general student bodies. Yes, the college presidents, like the below moron E. Gordon Gee, president of the Ohio State University….

…has defended the Bogus BCS to the hilt and in our opinion has been TOTALLY complicit in the money that has been wasted on all manner of outrageous things, parties, trips, 5-star hotels, elaborate meals, travel, etc., at the expense of the very educational institutions that the E. Gordon Gee’s of the world say they care so much about.
Sorry, we are calling BS on that one Gordon and when the US Justice Department and IRS come calling to ask you about what you knew about the excessive spending at the Fiesta Bowl and other bowl games don’t lie like your head football coach lied to the NCAA because if you lie to the Feds losing your job will be the very least of your worries…the very Damn least.
As big believers in America and the Founding Documents of our country, the Declaration of Independence and the US Constitutions/Bill of Rights, we welcome the US Justice Department’s entry and looking into the Bogus BCS because in our opinion the BCS violates the basic tenets that OUR country was founded upon and it is also our opinion that the BCS and the bowl games that make it up have been operating illegal nonprofit organizations that have defrauded US taxpayers while at the same time wasting Millions of Dollars on Bogus events like the Fiesta Bowl’s annual golf tournament.
Just for the US Justice Department’s information and for the IRS as well below was the agenda of the Fiesta Bowl’s annual golf outing as obtained by PlayoffPac and as reported by Dennis Dodd (Fiesta Bowl agenda, judge for yourself)

Yes, the above Fiesta Bowl Frolic agenda has a lot to do with intercollegiate athletics and is appropriate for a non-profit organization that is already wasting Millions of Dollars that should be going to college athletic departments (often at publicly, read TAXPAYER supported institutions)…….NOT!
Are you one of the people in intercollegiate athletics that regularly attended the Fiesta Frolic? We are betting the US Justice Department and IRS would like to have a word or two with you about just what in the Hell the Fiesta Bowl was “getting” in exchange for your attendance at their “golf” event (or cruise with the Orange Bowl!).
As for the Fiesta Frolic and the activities of the Fiesta Bowl being isolated to just that one bowl game……if the people behind and supporting the BCS want to believe that then by all means walk out on that plank and say some more stupid things on the record in the news media…please….go ahead….if you believe that what happened at the Fiesta Bowl didn’t go on anywhere else then you have nothing at all to fear…especially the college presidents that have been up to your ears in the Bogus BCS since its inception.
Please, step up and go on the record with the news media about the greatness of the bowls, but make sure when the US Justice Department comes calling that you tell them the very same Damn thing.
Since we here at Coaches Hot Seat have seen with our own eyes the very same people that were at the Fiesta Frolic and other BCS events partying down at bowl games with little regard for the money that was being flushed down the toilet that should have been going to college athletic departments so these SOBs could live like kings we expect those same people to tell the truth when they are asked direct questions…hopefully under oath. Where exactly is one raised in America that they believe it is OK for people working at publicly-taxpayer supported institutions to attend events like the Fiesta Frolic and the Orange Bowl cruise? What kind of parents tell their kids that something like that is OK exactly? But dozens of people in intercollegiate athletics partied down at the Fiesta Frolic, on cruises and at bowl games with little regard for the money that was being wasted….by “non-profit” organizations no less! Shameful, but then anyone that would attend the Fiesta Frolic is shameless and would clearly sell out his/her student-athletes for a few days playing golf with the bill ultimately being paid for by guess who….the very schools that have people attending these Bogus events! Yes, these are Very Stupid People and these Very Stupid People now have Uncle Sam knocking at the door asking some very pointed questions!
We could go on for awhile here about the Bogus BCS, but why do that when Dan Wetzel of Yahoo! Sports can do it so much better and in a much more succinct way:
Justice letter could signal big trouble for BCS
“The Department of Justice sent a letter to NCAA president Mark Emmert this week seeking clarification on why college football doesn’t have a playoff in its largest division while noting there are “serious questions” about whether the Bowl Championship Series is violating federal anti-trust laws. It is a sign the DOJ is considering a groundbreaking anti-trust case against the embattled BCS, which already may face a similar suit from the state of Utah.
The knee-jerk reaction: Why is the federal government messing with football? Doesn’t it have better things to do?
This is far more than football, though.
“The BCS is a financially underperforming system that costs mostly public colleges and universities hundreds of millions of dollars in potential revenue while directing tens of millions in student fees and taxpayer funds to third-party bowl games. The money alone makes it a concern for any taxpayer. Then there are the current corruption charges against the bowl business – the Fiesta Bowl is under fire for out-of-control spending and potentially illegal campaign contributions.
For college football fans, coaches and players so desperate for a playoff they don’t care how it happens, the question is can the Feds force action?
The answer is an overwhelming yes, and that isn’t even contingent on whether the feds could win the case.
There are smart people on both sides of this debate. Some say the BCS is susceptible to an anti-trust case. Others say it’s safe. The BCS itself has long maintained it’s in the clear.
I have no idea if even a DOJ case would prevail. I do know it doesn’t have to.
What the BCS is most susceptible to is exhaustion.
Sources throughout college football say the system’s chief defenders – a handful of conference commissioners and university presidents – are tiring of the withering attacks and negative headlines.”
Very good writing Dan. Very Damn good writing about the Bogus BCS and one can read the entire columnto see just what a Hellava mess that these BCS Bastards have created for themselves and it is THEY that have let the “activities” of the bowl games go on for so long being unchecked and controlled in any way by the NCAA. Pitifully, because the BCS Bastards let the Bogus BCS get out of country they may very well find themselves answering questions that they really don’t want to answer in a truthful way since doing so would not only make them look like fools it might even put them in legal jeopardy. Like…
“You attended 3 “X” bowl games in the last 7 years. Are you saying you did not know what was going on with this “X” bowl game with their wild spending and elaborate parties that seem well outside of the legal activities of “non-profit” organizations and intercollegiate athletics?”
Answer questions like that carefully BCS Boys and Girls since there is no doubt a long paper trail of receipts, reservations and travel logs that detail where everyone went, who they were with, how much money was spent and who paid the bills…..that would be the SCHOOLS of course!
Yes, this is going to be great fun now and the BCS Bastards have brought this US Justice Department (and maybe IRS investigation) on themselves because they let the college bowl system run wild and in many cases partied down while their own schools (can you believe it, their own Damn schools!) struggled to even pay the bills of the athletic departments!
Here is where Dan Wetzel is at his best from the above column:
“We have no idea about the finances of the BCS because they refuse to release them. They probably will now. And as much as tax documents provide a loose (and highly questionable) picture of expenditures of some bowl games (such as directors making more than $800,000 a year in salary), we’ve gotten an in depth look at just one game – the Fiesta, which conducted a breath-taking internal investigation.
It was then we learned about the depth bowl directors will go to curry favor with college power brokers. It was then we heard about $27,000 car allowances and $33,000 birthday parties and president John Junker’s racking up $4.8 million in expenses over 10 years (a whopping $1,315 per day, every day for a decade). That’s equal to a lot of gentlemen’s club visits.
Where’d the money for that lavish lifestyle come from? From mostly public universities, of course. As we researched in the book Death to the BCS, the system required schools and conferences to pay for an estimated $26.9 million for empty seats alone during the 2010-11 bowl season. There was nearly $80 million more in travel costs and other expenses.
Anyone want to risk repeating the Fiesta finances scandal? At potentially bowl game after bowl game after bowl game? It’s one thing to swear by these guys in the media. It’s another to swear it under oath at a federal deposition.”
Yes, this going to be great fun, but in the end the Bogus and Un-American BCS will be replaced by a 16 or 20 team College Football Postseason Tournament that will run from the second week of December to the first week of January and that Postseason Tournament will for the first time in Major College Football history crown a True and Legitimate National Champion….just as EVERY other sport in the NCAA does right now, including the other college football subdivisions.
Now, we can either do this the EASY way…or the HARD way. The EASY way is for college presidents (the ones that actually care about their schools and intercollegiate athletics that is since many of college presidents that are most vociferous in support of the Bogus BCS care about little but their massive egos), conference commissioners, athletic directors, coaches and others in and around the game of college football to come together to create a Postseason Playoff Tournament for Major College Football that will include some bowl games for the teams with plus-.500 records to play in that do not make it into the Tournament.
What is the HARD way you ask….Well, it starts with a call to a criminal defense attorney to accompany you to your deposition and it goes downhill from there….
This is all Very Simple:

Americans decide sports championships on the Field of Play and Major College Football is going to determine its National Champion with a Postseason Playoff Tournament just like EVERY other sport that is overseen and run by the NCAA.
Anyone that does not understand the above reality by now is living in a fantasyland and is treading in dangerous waters….but then what went on with the Fiesta Bowl was just an aberration……right?
Yes, stick with that story….and we Americans will all have great fun reading those depositions when they are presented in court!
