In the wake of the Jerry Sandusky Disaster and the Louis Freeh Report Two Questions now for Penn State going forward:
1. Should the statue of Joe Paterno at Beaver Stadium be taken down?

YES, the Joe Paterno statue at Beaver Stadium should be taken down because in the wake of the Louis Freeh report a statue of Paterno that says…
Joseph Vincent Paterno
Educator
Coach
Humanitarian
….CANNOT possible remain standing on the campus at Penn State University.
Sorry, the TRUTH is that Joe Paterno’s actions (and others at Penn State) around the actions of the MONSTER and EVIL Jerry Sandusky obliterate most if not all of what Joe Paterno did and achieved in his life and as much as it hurts us to criticize Coach Paterno and to recommend that the Paterno statue be taken down….
The Joe Paterno statue MUST BE TAKEN DOWN
2. What should happen to Penn State football going forward relative to possible NCAA sanctions?

We believe the NCAA has an opportunity here to fundamentally change how it penalizes individuals, universities and athletic programs that violate NCAA rules and since there is NO doubt in our minds that there was a Lack of Institutional Control within the Penn State football program and athletic department by the so-called “leaders” at Penn State and we believe the NCAA’s focus of punishment should be on the people that actually broke NCAA rules or violated the principles, mission and goals of the NCAA.
How would the above approach deal with the Sandusky Disaster at Penn State as it relates to potential NCAA punishment of those involved?
The NCAA’s focus should be on the wrongdoers at Penn State according to the Freeh Report which was based upon actual evidence that cannot possibly be denied by anyone at Penn State which includes:
Jerry Sandusky
Joe Paterno
Graham Spanier
Tim Curley
Gary Schultz
ALL of the above men, excluding Joe Paterno of course since he has died, should be BANNED FOR LIFE from having anything to do with intercollegiate athletics and if anyone else is found to have been involved in the cover-up of the activities of Jerry Sandusky they should be BANNED FOR LIFE as well from intercollegiate athletics
Secondly, one of the biggest problems of NCAA sanctions and punishments in the past is that the vast majority of the time the people that did the actual wrongdoing are never punished and in a cruel irony the people that were not involved at all in the wrongdoing, like the current and future players and coaches, are punished the most.
Look no further than the NCAA punishment of USC, Alabama and other high profile schools in the past where the wrongdoers were either fired, no longer involved in the program or had left the school which left the NCAA to punish the innocent and that kind of Absolute Nonsense needs to come to an end at the NCAA and the focus needs to turn to actually punishing the individuals directly and BANNING THEM FOR LIFE from intercollegiate athletics and where it hurts the most, in their wallets, and to punish the school in the same place as well which means going after something that will make people working in intercollegiate athletics think twice about breaking NCAA rules, which means going after the schools’
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Relative to Penn State University beyond the NCAA BANNING FOR LIFE from intercollegiate athletics anyone that was involved in the cover-up of Jerry Sandusky’s activities, the NCAA should also levy a Massive Fine on Penn State University in the…
Millions of Dollars
…for the school’s wrongdoing.
How much should Penn State University be fined by the NCAA you ask?
At the US Department of Education’s Equity in Athletics website it shows that Penn State made a “profit” of….
$32 Million Dollars
….in the most recent reported year which sounds like an appropriate fine on Penn State to us.
NCAA’s Punishment of Penn State University after a finding that the school obviously had a Lack of Institutional Control of their athletic department:
The following men would be BANNED FOR LIFE from being involved in intercollegiate athletics with any NCAA-related institution
Jerry Sandusky
Joe Paterno
Graham Spanier
Tim Curley
Gary Schultz
AND
Penn State University would be fined $32 Million Dollars which would go into a fund at the NCAA that would help student-athletes with situations where they need help to pay for things that they do not have the resources to meet personally.
Lastly, since the Freeh report made clear that a cover-up of Jerry Sandusky’s activities by Paterno, Spanier, Curley and Schultz goes back 14 years which is by all accounts egregious wrongdoing on the parts of those 4 men and thus the Penn State athletic department as well ALL of the wins by Joe Paterno in those 14 years should be wiped from the record books FOREVER.
Hell, if the NCAA is going to vacate 12 wins from Bobby Bowden’s record because some Florida State players cheated on an online course that caused Bowden and FSU to use ineligible players, which we have still not seen a shred of evidence that Bobby Bowden knew about, then the wins by Joe Paterno in the 14 years he was involved in the cover-up of Jerry Sandusky RAPING boys on the Penn State campus should sure the Hell be vacated as well!

As the governing body of Intercollegiate Athletics the NCAA MUST ACT in this Disaster at Penn State that goes to heart of what his wrong in college athletics in America today, which is very powerful people manipulating the system to best benefit themselves while tossing into the garbage the best interests of the student-athletes and university as a whole and in the case of Penn State University, almost unbelievably the safety of young people that were actually put in MORE danger by the actions of the Bastards otherwise known as the “leadership” of Penn State University.

If the NCAA doesn’t act and harshly punish the individuals directly involved in the Sandusky cover-up and go after Penn State University where it really hurts, in their bank account, then we can only wonder what the Hell is the point of the NCAA beyond of course employing a lot of bureaucrats in Indianapolis that for the most part couldn’t find their ass in a roomful of mirrors and thus why the rampant cheating continues across intercollegiate athletics and will continue on unabated until the NCAA really starts hammering the Bastards directly involved in the cheating and the schools that often are involved in encouraging the illicit activity and violations of NCAA rules.
