Post Week 5 NFL Coaches Hot Seat Rankings

A chair on fire... metaphor "In The Hot Seat"

Tell them like it is Johnny Cash!

GregSchiano77

1.  Greg Schiano, Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Even with all the turmoil in Tampa with Greg Schiano and the Bucs the reality is that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are only…

9 points

…from being 3 – 1 right now instead of 0 – 4 BUT in the NFL you are…

“What You Are”

…..and the Bucs are…

0 – 4….Period.

Luckily for the Bucs the NFC South division which was looking like it could be a very tough place to operate in the preseason now looks like a runaway for the New Orleans Saints and that leaves the other three NFC South teams fighting with all the other teams in the NFC for wild card spots in the Playoffs but before Schiano and his football team can think about the postseason they first must…

Get A Win

…starting with the game at home on Sunday against a struggling Philadelphia Eagles football team that will start their backup QB against the Bucs.

The Bucs have a chance in their next three games to put some wins on the board with…

Philadelphia Eagles
At Atlanta Falcons
Carolina Panthers

…up next which is then followed by a trip to Seattle followed by a home game against the Miami Dolphins.

NOTHING matters now for Greg Schiano and the Bucs EXCEPT beating the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday in what very well could be a swing game for the Bucs in 2013 and a swing game for Greg Schiano’s NFL head coaching career.

On another note about Tampa Bay Bucs head coach Greg Schiano…

Memo to Greg Schiano:  You need to QUIT telling your Bucs players to hit the opposing teams players and try to grab the ball at the end of games that your team is losing and when the other team is clearly kneeling down to run out the clock….unless of course you have NO DAMN CLASS…and if that is the case then your Sorry Ass needs to be run the Hell out of the NFL and we will happily do whatever we can to help running your ass out of the NFL as soon as Damn possible.

So what is it going to be Greg Schiano? Are you a Sorry Person with NO DAMN CLASS or are you going to act like a Decent Human Being and a REAL American and do away with this end of the game BS you have brought to the NFL?

TomCoughlin7

2.  Tom Coughlin, New York Giants – We here at Coaches Hot Seat all watched the Philadelphia Eagles – New York Giants football game on Sunday and the TRUTH is that…

The New York Giants are just NOT a very well coached football team right now.

YES, the Giants have a major hole in their roster at the running back position BUT come on now….

The New York Giants had plenty of talent on their roster to play the Dallas Cowboys close in Dallas in Week 1 and since that loss to open the season the Giants have been in a Complete Freefall that will only get worse unless the Giants players play with personal pride and tenacity in the coming weeks that could be headed to an…

0 – 16

…record if the Giants players quit with the Giants already quitting once this season in their…

38 – 0

…loss to the 1 – 3 Carolina Panthers who has a head coach on the Hot Seat and their only win this season is of course over…

The New York Giants!

There are some that believe Giants head coach Tom Coughlin can just show up for work on time and his football team can play as bad as any team in NFL history and Coughlin will not be fired later this season….

Sorry….if the New York Giants continue to play they are playing right now…

Uninspired

Error-Prone

Unmotivated

In many ways NOT even coached

…then Tom Coughlin will be shown the door and don’t let the door hit you in the ass Tom on the way out of it!

After all….this is still America and the NFL where Great Success if rewarded and Complete Failure is penalized…..right?

JasonGarrett7

3.  Jason Garrett, Dallas Cowboys – YES…the Dallas Cowboys played very well against the Denver Broncos and would have beaten Peyton Manning and Company if the Dallas defense had just showed up a couple of times in the 4 th quarter of the game BUT what would have really pissed us here at Coaches Hot Seat off IF we were the owner of the Dallas Cowboys would have been:

If my team…the Dallas Cowboys….can play the best team in the NFL…the Denver Broncos….to a virtual tie in Week 5 of the season then how in the Hell did the Cowboys lose to Kansas City and San Diego?

Damn good question but then the standards have been lowered to such a level for the Dallas Cowboys that they celebrate…

Close Losses and “Moral Victories”

….now in Big D which in the very mediocre NFL East might be good enough for the Cowboys to win a Division title in 2013!

Head coach Jason Garrett and the Dallas Cowboys are now 2 – 3 on the season and they have left…

Washington Redskins
At Philadelphia Eagles
At Detroit Lions
Minnesota Vikings
At New Orleans Saints
At New York Giants
Oakland Raiders
At Chicago Bears
Green Bay Packers
At Washington Redskins
Philadelphia Eagles

….and if one believes as we do that an 8 – 8 record will win the NFC East in 2013 then Garrett and the Cowboys only need 6 more wins to be NFL Playoffs bound!

Can the Dallas Cowboys find at least 6 wins against their last 11 opponents?

IF they can’t Jason Garrett should be fired with Great Gusto and then Jerry Jones can get onto hiring another LOSER to coach America’s Team who no doubt we will immediately put on the Hot Seat!

GusBradley68

4.  Gus Bradley, Jacksonville Jaguars – It was nice to see the Jacksonville Jaguars play with a little more fire on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams BUT even with that extra fire the Jags still came away with the loss and Jacksonville is now…

0 – 5

…on the season and things don’t get any easier with these next 5 games coming up:

At Denver Broncos
San Diego Chargers
San Francisco 49ers
At Tennessee Titans
Arizona Cardinals

Uhhhh….Jacksonville Jaguars….Got at least 0 – 10?

It seems so with those 5 opponents up next and the question has to be asked:

Will head coach Gus Bradley and the Jacksonville Jaguars win even ONE game in 2013?

Our guess here at Coaches Hot Seat:  NO.

Expect to be on the Hot Seat for a Helluva long time Gus Bradley and more than likely on the Hot Seat until you are fired in Jacksonville!

DennisAllen7

5.  Dennis Allen, Oakland Raiders – Dennis Allen and the Oakland Raiders got a much-needed win over the San Diego Chargers late on Sunday night and Oakland looks like it might have its starting QB for the foreseeable future in Terrelle Pryor but Allen and the Raiders need to KEEP winning and up next is a game at the undefeated Kansas Chiefs which will be at tall task for the Raiders.

After the Kansas City Chiefs the Raiders have four games against teams that they will have at least a decent chance of beating…

Pittsburgh Steelers
Philadelphia Eagles
At New York Giants
At Houston Texans

…so a loss to the Chiefs would not be fatal to Oakland’s chances for postseason play this season but a loss to the Chiefs will of course just keep head coach Dennis Allen on the Hot Seat that much longer!

RonRivera7

6.  Ron Rivera, Carolina Panthers – The worst thing about the Carolina Panthers’ 2013 season is that they only have one win on the board and that win is against the…

Hapless New York Giants

….and with head coach Ron Rivera and the Panthers now at 1 – 3 on the season ALL the games are going to start becoming MUST WIN contests because with every loss will come even more heat and more questions about Rivera’s job status and that is never a good thing for a football team especially a football team in the same division as the New Orleans Saints.

The Carolina Panthers’ next seven games will probably determine Ron Rivera’s fate…

At Minnesota Vikings
St. Louis Rams
At Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Atlanta Falcons
At San Francisco 49ers
New England Patriots
At Miami Dolphins

…..and Rivera probably needs to win at least 4 of his team’s next 7 games to have any chance of turning down the heat that is getting very Damn not in the Charlotte, North Carolina area.

JimSchwartz7

7.  Jim Schwartz, Detroit Lions – Jim Schwartz got off the Hot Seat for exactly one week after reeling off two wins against the Redskins and Bears BUT after the loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Schwartz is back on the Hot Seat and he might be there for awhile with these games coming up next for the Lions:

At Cleveland Browns
Cincinnati Bengals
Dallas Cowboys
Chicago Bears

YES…Jim Schwartz IS coaching for his job in 2013 and the Detroit Lions will either make it to the Playoffs or the Lions will be looking for a new head football coach come December which really makes these next four football games very Damn important for Jim Schwartz’s future NFL head coaching career.

Coach Hard Jimmy Schwartz!

“It is a terrible thing to see and have no vision.”

And

“Life is a succession of lessons which must be lived to be understood.”

“Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.”

And

“True happiness… is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.”

And

“My share of the work may be limited, but the fact that it is work makes it precious.”

And

“We differ, blind and seeing, one from another, not in our senses, but in the use we make of them, in the imagination and courage with which we seek wisdom beyond the senses.”

And

“Tyranny cannot defeat the power of ideas.”

And

“Miss Sullivan touched my forehead and spelled with decided emphasis, “Think.”  In a flash I knew that the word was the name of the process that was going on in my head. This was my first conscious perception of an abstract idea.  For a long time I was still … trying to find a meaning for “love” in the light of this new idea. The sun had been under a cloud all day, and there had been brief showers; but suddenly the sun broke forth in all its southern splendour.  Again I asked my teacher, “Is this not love?”

“Love is something like the clouds that were in the sky before the sun came out,” she replied. Then in simpler words than these, which at that time I could not have understood, she explained:

“You cannot touch the clouds, you know; but you feel the rain and know how glad the flowers and the thirsty earth are to have it after a hot day. You cannot touch love either; but you feel the sweetness that it pours into everything. Without love you would not be happy or want to play.”

The beautiful truth burst upon my mind — I felt that there were invisible lines stretched between my spirit and the spirits of others.”

And

“No matter how dull, or how mean, or how wise a man is, he feels that happiness is his indisputable right.”

And

“A happy life consists not in the absence, but in the mastery of hardships.”

And

“Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness. It is not attained through self-gratification but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.”
