Week 6 NFL MUST WIN Games for Head Coaches and Teams – 13 NFL Head Coaches and Teams Facing MUST WIN Games in Week 6

Week 6 NFL MUST WIN Games for Head Coaches and Teams

Tom Coughlin, New York Giants vs. Chicago Bears

Serious Question: Is anyone actually coaching the New York Giants?

Our Opinion: NO…..PERIOD.

Oh, you disagree?

Have you seen the New York Giants play in 2013?

Good…then you must agree with us that the New York Giants players could coach themselves and do a better job than Tom Coughlin and his coaching staff has been doing this season and just by the way Tom Coughlin is being paid around…

$7 Million Dollars A Year

….to supposedly coach the New York Giants!

Yes, that is GREAT work if you can get it!

Don’t do a Damn thing and make $7 Million Dollars!

Oh….going to the office DOES NOT EQUAL working in case Tom Coughlin and his coaching staff are reading this blog and now that the New York Giants are…

0 – 5

…on the season they have a Thursday night game against the Chicago Bears to play in Chicago and is there anyone out there with a working brain that believe the Giants can win this game?

Oh, if Tom Coughlin and his coaching staff miss the flight and the New York Giants players coach themselves they could beat the Bears?

YES that might be true….but what is the chance that Tom Coughlin and his entire coaching staff would miss that flight and the game?

Not a very good chance so the New York Giants are about to go…

0 – 6

…and Tom Coughlin’s win/loss record since the Giants won Super Bowl XLVI in February 2012 is…

9 – 12

Geez…what a country the American Republic is…

Fall Flat on your face and make $7 Million Dollars a year!

Jim Schwartz, Detroit Lions vs. Cleveland Browns – We don’t have the kind of contacts around the NFL like we do in college football but we do know someone in the Detroit area that told us earlier this year that for Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz it is either…..

“Playoffs or Bust for the Jim Schwartz or Lions in 2013”

….with “Bust” meaning Jim Schwartz will be fired if his team doesn’t go to the postseason in ’13.

Luckily for Jim Schwartz the NFC North Division looks like a division that something around or just above a .500 record will win it in 2013 and in games when the Lions are playing teams like the Cleveland Browns that technically the Lions SHOULD BEAT beating those teams is Very Damn Important.

New Cleveland Browns head coach Ron Chudzinski is doing some interesting things with the Browns this season and if first-year head coach Chudzinski is able to beat Jim Schwartz’s Lions team with Schwartz now in his fifth season at Detroit then the folks that own the Detroit Lions will no doubt be wondering just what in the Hell is wrong with their head football coach and all that adds up to….

The Cleveland Browns is a MUST WIN Game for Jim Schwartz and the Detroit Lions.

Dennis Allen, Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs – Dennis Allen and the Oakland Raiders got their MUST WIN in Week 5 against the Chargers at home and now they face another MUST WIN Game in Week 6 with this game coming against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road.

The Good News for Dennis Allen and the Raiders is that after the Kansas City game Oakland has three very winnable games…

Pittsburgh Steelers
Philadelphia Eagles
At New York Giants

…..and thus a loss to Kansas City would not be fatal to the Raiders chance to appear in the postseason but a WIN against the Chiefs would be a HUGE step forward for the Oakland Raiders.

Ron Rivera, Carolina Panthers vs. Minnesota Vikings – The Hot Seat is getting very HOT under Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera who in his third season on the job at Carolina has put a win/loss record of…

14 – 22

….and anything short of taking the Panthers to the Playoffs in 2013 would probably lead to a coaching change in Charlotte.

The Carolina Panthers are now 1 – 3 on the season after the loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday and they face a MUST WIN Game at Minnesota on Sunday with these games still left on the schedule:

At Minnesota Vikings
St. Louis Rams
At Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Atlanta Falcons
At San Francisco 49ers
New England Patriots
At Miami Dolphins
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
At New Orleans Saints
New York Jets
New Orleans Saints
At Atlanta Falcons

The NFC South Division looks like it is going to be a runaway win for the New Orleans Saints in ’13 and that means the Carolina Panthers will be shooting for a Wild Card spot to get into the Playoffs and that probably means the Panthers will need at least an…

8 – 8 record

….and looking at the Panthers remaining schedule a loss to the Vikings on Sunday would really put Rivera and Carolina behind the 8-ball and Rivera on a VERY Hot Seat!

Mike Tomlin, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets – Mike Tomlin has a Super Bowl Title and another Super Bowl appearance on his resume as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers but since the Steelers lost to Tim Tebow and the Denver Broncos in the Wild Card game in the 2011 – 2012 season Tomlin and the Steelers have put a record of…

8 – 12

Sorry….but an 8 – 12 is NEVER going to be an acceptable win/loss record with the Pittsburgh Steelers and after opening the 2013 season with four straight losses Mike Tomlin is headed straight for the Hot Seat unless he can right the ship in Pittsburgh and we mean right the ship quickly.

Next up for the Steelers is a game at the New York Jets which is a MUST WIN Game for Rex Ryan and the Jets as well and if the Steelers lose this game on Sunday they might be headed toward a Helluva lot of losses with these game still remaining to be played:

At New York Jets
Baltimore Ravens
At Oakland Raiders
At New England Patriots
Buffalo Bills
Detroit Lions
At Cleveland Browns
At Baltimore Ravens
Miami Dolphins
Cincinnati Bengals
At Green Bay Packers
Cleveland Browns

Uh…Oh. IF the Pittsburgh Steelers keep playing the way they have been playing in their first 4 games especially the pitiful and hapless way they have played on offense there is a decent chance that the Steelers will win…

….in 2013 and we really wonder if Mike Tomlin can survive a winless season Super Bowl win or not.

Rex Ryan, New York Jets vs. Pittsburgh Steelers – Rex Ryan and the New York Jets got a win in their MUST WIN Game last week against the faltering Atlanta Falcons BUT the Jets cannot relax because they have a game this week against a floundering Pittsburgh Steelers team which the Jets CANNOT LOSE mainly because what they have coming up in their next five games:

New England Patriots
At Cincinnati Bengals
New Orleans Saints
At Buffalo Bills
At Baltimore Ravens
Miami Dolphins

Lose to the Pittsburgh Steelers and Rex Ryan is not only back on the Hot Seat BUT the New York Jets entire season will be in danger again and thus why the Steelers is not so much a MUST WIN Game but a…

Better Damn NOT LOSE Game

…for Ryan and the Jets.

Greg Schiano, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Philadelphia Eagles – Ask yourself this question:

Could Greg Schiano get fired as the Tampa Bay Bucs head coach after this season?

Answer…our opinion: YES…if the Bucs do not show progress from their 0 – 4 start and just guessing now we would say anything less than 6 wins and the two-year Greg Schiano experiment in Tampa will be over and the Bucs will be looking for a new head coach come December.

Greg Schiano and the Bucs are now 0 – 4 on the season and they have a critical home game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday and if the Bucs can get a win in this spot then they have two very winnable games against…

Atlanta Falcons
Carolina Panthers

….in the next two weeks before playing a very hard to win game at Seattle in Week 9 of the season.

IF the Tampa Bay Bucs and Greg Schiano are going to turnaround the 2013 season then a WIN against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday is a MUST because a loss in this spot would mean Schiano would more than likely have to win…

6 of their last 11 Games

….at a minimum to which we can only say…

Coach Hard Greg Schiano!

Chip Kelly, Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – There is no shame in Chip Kelly and the Eagles losing to…

Kansas City Chiefs
Denver Broncos

….earlier this season which are right now two of the best teams in the NFL but that Week 2 loss to the San Diego Chargers has to hurt and may indeed come back to haunt Kelly and the Eagles later this season when postseason Playoff participants are decided.

The Philadelphia Eagles play a critical game on Sunday at the Tampa against the winless Bucs and a win this spot would set the Eagles up well for their next two games against NFC East Division foes…

Dallas Cowboys
New York Giants

…..which will play a big role in determining who represents the NFC East in the postseason in 2013.

With Nick Foles starting at QB for the Philadelphia Eagles it will be interesting to see how Chip Kelly protects his quarterback in his spread-option offensive attack because if Foles goes down then the Eagles offense will surely be something to see…or more than likely…NOT SEE!

YES…the Tampa Bay Bucs is a MUST WIN Game for Chip Kelly and the Eagles

Jeff Fisher, St. Louis Rams vs. Houston Texans – Jeff Fisher and the St. Louis Rams got their win in Week 5 against the hapless and pitiful Jacksonville Jaguars and after a week off it is back to REAL NFL football with a trip to Houston to play the Texans.

Of course, the Houston Texans are playing some very pitiful football themselves right now and with the Rams now at…

2 – 3

…on the season a loss to the Texans would be a cruel blow with these games still to be played:

At Carolina Panthers
Seattle Seahawks
Tennessee Titans
At Indianapolis Colts
Chicago Bears
At San Francisco 49ers
At Arizona Cardinals
New Orleans Saints
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
At Seattle Seahawks

Oh, that is a TOUGH schedule and why the Houston Texans is a….

MUST WIN Game for Jeff Fisher and the Rams.

Gary Kubiak, Houston Texans vs. St. Louis Rams – Only a week after basically giving away a game to the Seattle Seahawks at home the Houston Texans played the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night and they looked like a team that was being coached by Bozo the Clown.

Of course, even Bozo the Clown could not coach a team to victory when the QB of the team, Matt Schaub, plays like a scared rabbit that is frightened that the opposing team might mess his precious hair up as Schaub played against the 49ers and of courses Texans head coach Gary Kubiak is going to stick with Schaub this week in the game against the St. Louis Rams….but for how long one can only wonder.

Now at 2 – 3 on the season the Houston Texans only look like a shadow of the team that went…

10 – 6
12 – 4

…over the past two seasons and if the Texans somehow falter to the Rams at home on Sunday then Gary Kubiak is going to find out in a hurry what the Hot Seat feels like and no doubt he will be looking for a QB on his roster that is not scared of his own shadow as well!

Oh…in case Gary Kubiak hasn’t checked the schedule the Texans have after the Rams the following games…

At Kansas City Chiefs
Indianapolis Colts
At Arizona Cardinals

….which means the Houston Texas better Damn beat the St. Louis Rams on Sunday at home.

Gus Bradley, Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Denver Broncos – Gus Bradley and the Jacksonville Jaguars are now…

0 – 5

…on the season and they play at the Denver Broncos on Sunday which means the Jaguars will be…

0 – 6

….on the season come Sunday night.

After the Denver Broncos the Jacksonville Jaguars have left on their schedule….

San Diego Chargers
San Francisco 49ers
At Tennessee Titans
Arizona Cardinals
At Houston Texans
At Cleveland Browns
Houston Texans
Buffalo Bills
Tennessee Titans
At Indianapolis Colts

….and IF we had to guess right now we would guess that the Jaguars will finish the season at…

0 – 16

….and if that happens Gus Bradley will be on the Hot Seat for a long time into the future.

Mike Munchak, Tennessee Titans vs. Seattle Seahawks – Losing quarterback Jake Locker was a big disappointment for the Tennessee Titans just when the Titans were playing some pretty good football but…

Football IS Football

….and people get hurt playing Football and thus the Titans must move on with….

“What we have available is what we have available.”

…as the Great Paul Brown would say in this spot and that means the Titans getting ready to play with “what they have at QB” in a tough game at Seattle.

The Tennessee Titans are now 3 – 2 on the season and have two very tough games coming up…

Seattle Seahawks
San Francisco 49ers

….which is followed by two very winnable games…

At St. Louis Rams
Jacksonville Jaguars

…..before playing the Indianapolis Colts at home on November 14.

YES…the Seattle Seahawks is a MUST WIN Game for the Tennessee Titans but this is the game the Titans can lose and still be in play for a postseason Playoff spot come December so is really a…

MUST WIN Game….that the Titans could probably afford to lose!

Jason Garrett, Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Redskins – If there is one thing that Jason Garrett and the Cowboys can lean on in the wake of the loss to the Denver Broncos this past Sunday it is that in 2011 the New York Giants went…

9 – 7

….in the regular season and the Giants ended up making it to the Playoffs and won Super Bowl XLVI.

Losing to one of the top teams in the NFL meaning the Denver Broncos is one thing…BUT….the Dallas Cowboys are playing the 1 – 3 Washington Redskins on Sunday at home in Dallas and with games…

At Philadelphia Eagles
At Detroit Lions

…up next for the Cowboys the Redskins is the BIGGEST….

MUST WIN Game on the schedule in Week 6 in the NFL

Bottom-Line:  The Dallas Cowboys just flat-out CANNOT LOSE to the Washington Redskins…..PERIOD.

Coaches Hot Seat NFL Quotes of the Day – Thursday, October 10, 2013 – Harper Lee

Coaches Hot Seat NFL Quotes of the Day – Thursday, October 10, 2013 – Harper Lee

Below – To Kill A Mockingbird Quotes

“I think there’s just one kind of folks. Folks.”

“Many receive advice, only the wise profit from it.”

“The book to read is not the one which thinks for you, but the one which makes you think. No book in the world equals the Bible for that.”

“They’re certainly entitled to think that, and they’re entitled to full respect for their opinions… but before I can live with other folks I’ve got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.”

“First of all,” he said, “if you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view–until you climb into his skin and walk around it.”

“Atticus said to Jem one day, “I’d rather you shot at tin cans in the backyard, but I know you’ll go after birds. Shoot all the blue jays you want, if you can hit ‘em, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.” That was the only time I ever heard Atticus say it was a sin to do something, and I asked Miss Maudie about it. “Your father’s right,” she said. “Mockingbirds don’t do one thing except make music for us to enjoy. They don’t eat up people’s gardens, don’t nest in corn cribs, they don’t do one thing but sing their hearts out for us. That’s why it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.”

“With him, life was routine; without him, life was unbearable.”

“When a child asks you something, answer him, for goodness sake. But don’t make a production of it. Children are children, but they can spot an evasion faster than adults, and evasion simply muddles ’em.”

“Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is no reason for us not to try to win.”

“You just hold your head high and keep those fists down. No matter what anybody says to you, don’t you let ’em get your goat. Try fightin’ with your head for a change.”

“There is one way in this country in which all men are created equal—there is one human institution that makes a pauper the equal of a Rockefeller, the stupid man the equal of an Einstein, and the ignorant man the equal of any college president. That institution, gentlemen, is the court.”

“We’re paying the highest tribute you can pay a man. We trust him to do right. It’s that simple.”

“There are just some kind of men…who’re so busy worrying about the next world they’ve never learned to live in this one.”

“Ladies in bunches always filled me with vague apprehension and a firm desire to be elsewhere.”

People in their right minds never take pride in their talents.

Atticus had said it was the polite thing to talk to people about what they were interested in, not about what you were interested in.

“Try fighting with your head for a change…it’s a good one, even if it does resist learning.”

“I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand.  It’s when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.  You rarely win, but sometimes you do.”

Above – To Kill A Mockingbird Quotes

“Well, they’re Southern people, and if they know you are working at home they think nothing of walking right in for coffee. But they wouldn’t dream of interrupting you at golf. ” Harper Lee

“Any writer worth his salt writes to please himself…It’s a self-exploratory operation that is endless. An exorcism of not necessarily his demon, but of his divine discontent.” Harper Lee
